The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

Guessing Bohemian Rhapsody must be doing crazy well with older viewers since I doubt younger people even know who Freddie Mercury is

On the contrary, the marketing campaign has been really great. And who doesn't know at least a handful of Queen songs? Movie's clearly gonna play well across multiple demos.

Exactly. I really noticed this a few months ago when I randomly put on their greatest hits album and was shocked at how many songs I know, its really incredible. They basically have three of the most singable songs ever with We Are the Champions, We Will Rock You, and Bohemian Rhapsody, whice are still played everywhere till' this day, and literally everybody knows the lyrics for. And with other tunes like Another One Bites the Dust, Don't Stop Me Now, Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, Somebody to Love, Bicycle Race, Under Pressure, etc., even if you're not familiar with the band, you're familiar with a ton of their work. That's a huge advantage for the marketing and appeal of the movie, and its not just with the older demographics (coming from an 18 y/o).

I thought Bohemian Rhapsody's biggest challenge is catering to older people.

BR would have to get excellent reviews, and a lasting impact with advertising IMO to break the bank.

Halloween did it, Mamma Mia 2 fell short of 40 though and had close to just a 3x overall multiplier.

Every young white person I know wants to see Bohemian Rhaspody. They're the main fucking audience. The whole "dem millenials are so stupid" narrative is so fucking played.

It is people love millenials since they saw what they the post 1994 born look like in comparison....

But more seriously how young millenials wanting to see the 56% on RT troubled production just because of a brand name goes against being stupid or not ?

where are we at with millennial age range.

the range is huge on search engines.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Z

I'd assume generation Z started around 2004-2005, so that would make a lot of 12-13 year olds able to purchase tickets for BR by themselves?

If so, and generations are 18 years, then would Millenials would be 1986-2004??

my search engine is all nuts, I don't trust it.
