Civil War: Asgard vs Shield

'Earnestly'  Shaft family (wow Roundtree is also in good times then) meeting MiB team during whatever the next case is... for some reasons that makes me laugh.

Especially the ~ language they might develop after a while as a group working together, also who is the 'greatest/coolest' egging each other on

Let’s say in a (unlikely) universe where the reviews come out for Endgame and the movie gets completely trashed, and then the word of mouth ends up being toxic as hell on top of it.

With the current absurd level of presales, what do you guys think would be the theoretical floor at that point for the OW? Would it even dent it at this point?

I think it might be able to fall all the way down to a pathetic 225M OW (barely #3 all-time) if the reception was really putrid.

I think presales for it are way too strong for it to have any real dent on the OW tbh. I mean theaters are legit filling to capacity and more at this point. The real dent will come in the days after the OW (and possibly not even hit until Thursday)

And I say this with the mind set that this is the type of movie that people will want to see for themselves regardless of what critics think. Bottom line: the OW of this will be critic proof (good or mad) but its late legs may get affected  if fans don’t like it.

The BvS collapse happened right on opening day to Saturday and that universe had no goodwill.  The MCU has enough goodwill that they could pull off "it's for the fans"

17:00 Pacific 4/18/19 (End of Thurs)

1	31.4%	Avengers: Endgame
2	11.3%	Shazam!
3	9%	The Curse of La Llorona
4	7.7%	Breakthrough
5	7%	Dumbo

CM still behind Dumbo, so kicked out by Llorona. AEG still running about 3x Shazam, down less than I expected from yesterday considering Llorona and holdovers likely increasing.

17:00 Pacific 4/19/19 (End of Good Friday)

1	22.3%	Avengers: Endgame
2	13.8%	Shazam!
3	13.3%	The Curse of La Llorona
4	8.2%	Breakthrough
5	7.3%	Captain Marvel

Huge lead today, will obviously keep it next installment as tomorrow is nearly flat. CM snuck into 5th on the last update of the day, and this now reflects pretty closely the order of the likely weekend results.

Welcome to the madhouse! What a time to join. The April 26-28 weekend thread should be a blast!

That gives me a thought: For those who have been here for awhile, what would you say was the most fun weekend thread? Jurassic World? Black Panther? TFA?

Sold 116 tickets for Endgame today.

As of 4/19/19 Tickets Sold Total Tickets % sold
Thursday 866 874 99.08%
Friday 1221 1389 87.90%
Saturday 1372 1651 83.10%
Sunday 878 1651 53.18%
Total 4337 5565 77.93%

IW full weekend 5869
% of IW 73.90%

Interestingly the first showing to sell out for Saturday was the 9:30AM one. As it stands we have 14 showings out of 63 total showings sold out for the weekend, there are only 7 showings that are less than half way full (all of which are after 5PM on Sunday) and 7 that are between 90% and 100%

For just OW? Probably Black Panther.

I vote Jurassic World. It literally doubled (or more) what most people here were expecting on OW. I don't think anybody ever thought it would set the OW record when Age of Ultron failed to do so.

Black Panther was the craziest I’ve seen since I started lurking in 2014. TFA and IW everyone expected to be huge and Jurassic World while insane had the back of a major franchise.
