Might be an advertising boost as I see it getting a pretty big page ad for it on the Fandango home page.

 

Anyone know what's up with this boost besides advertising?

I got an update today on my phone from Fandango saying their on sale, so I think this is the first day they're actually officially letting people know about them.

Looking here in Canada it seems Endgame will lose one of the premium screen if it has two at a theater  but it still playing in 6 screens at my theater compared to 7-9 past 2 weekends. 

 

Looking at theaters around me, Endgame is keeping most of its screens at the expense of old films. 

 

Seems like here in Canada Cineplex is going with Endgame over DP>

Cineplex Sliver city Brampton got same screen count and shows for both movie.

Saturday: 25 Shows Endgame on 6 screens 

 

 

DP is getting 5 shows from one screen that is open the AVX.  I believe they are still setting the schedule for the non AVX 

 

My point is that putting up that many shows for Endgame is a huge commitment lol

OFC that was my point....DP is a short film so it can have a ton of showtimes in a single screen. 

 

unsure about the states, but here in Canada Endgame is keeping a shit ton of screens.

I only found out about this because I was checking the local drive-in for Pika Pika showtimes.

 

It's getting... 2 showings on Thr. 

 

I think the screen crunch for Pikachu, especially for Thr, is real.  What crystalized that in my mind is Pikachu getting one of what I would consider the "C tier" theaters in town yesterday when it hadn't been there until then.  Think WB is gonna try to squeeze as many theaters as they can in an attempt to offset EG still grabbing a lot of screens.  Don't know how many they'll get, but it does appear they're making a late push right now.

 

Haven't checked the FSS slate yet, as showtimes are just starting to get finalized now.  Think I might check tomorrow and see what the lay of the land is for screens across the region and try to get a better handle on the screen situation for the weekend.

Edit: I would've thought my theater would've added another showing or two to either 2D or 3D showings but they didn't.

I guess dumbo is blockbuster and inside out is a flop because dumbo finished number 1 in its weekend and inside out 2

The Pulse number for people picking up KoTM tickets before official pre-sales are up. Some theaters and chains have basically gone "fuck it" and put showtimes up.

I'm tracking it because it shows how much interest there is in people not even knowing pre-sales are up, seeing showtimes and going "Oh I want to go see that" without prompting from twitter or social media.

Menominee Falls (2nd biggest theater in Wisconsin) has 20 showtimes for Pikachu, including 6 in the PLF and 2 in 3D. That’s pretty good imho.
