Updated it to include TS4 current rate. So it’s running basically double a movie that just had a $34m Sunday. Idk the number for TS4 initial hour of presales, but its already outsold TS4 first full day at my theater.

My guess is this first hour on Pulse will be ~2500 all formats combined.

No. Only one I remember off the top of my head that was even close to this was FFH which had somewhere in the 1200-1500 range I think.

It looks like the first 24 hours for TS4 was around 4155. TLK will eclipse that inside of 3 hours, possibly 2 if the adjustment is high enough.

TLK = 1959 (before adjustment)

 

I assume the TS4 number is before adjustment also, so basically TLK sold a little over 6x as many tickets as TS4.

So, 12x6 = 72

 

adjust for TS4 being animation

I'm not sure that TS4 is the best comp. If this plays like BATB it will be pretty presale heavy. OTOH if it plays like Aladdin it won't be, but Aladdin also had pretty poor buzz which probably forced it to be more walkup heavy.

IW did 29k in its first day on Pulse. That will be a better goal for TLK.

It may not be but it’s the most recent, large family film with a fan base. Also, both summer film. BATB was 2.5 years ago and out of summer. Aladdin would be a comp, but I imagine TLK is doing 10x the first day business Aladdin did.

What I meant was, BATB was as presale heavy as big CBMs of the time (Guardians 2 etc). But you're right that summer will also affect things. Hard to think of a good comp, tbh. Maybe I2 but even that was animation which makes it significantly more family heavy.
