Sony must be avoiding another TS4 situation

But these numbers are excessive low, presales indicate around $ 170 - 180M if i remember correctly, more being possible depending on the next days.

Pre sales indicate 200 over six day too

Problem is, we lost Pulse just at the time where we can really see just how much the ramp up of pre-sales is happening. Or isn't, as the case may sometimes be.  The first few days of this week were encouraging.  But we've been flying blind now for around 48 hours+.  At pretty much the worst possible time.

(I'm guessing if Pulse comes back, I suspect it'll be rebooted sometime on Monday, like it was EG [if for different reasons, presumably])

Its weird.

And i want to tackle toronto?

thanks for the info, yeah let's only hope the movie didn't slow down for whatever reason, personally i think it's doing good after the great reviews and the release proximity

125M is a massive underperformance for FFH. The first one did 117M in 3 days. Not even the MCU can escape the Summer franchise fatigue? Even 150M would be a bit meh since it has 3 more days. 160-170M is where it should open.

Please don't over-extend yourself. :) What you've been doing for your local theater is great. 👍

Couldn't answer your main question though.  What ticket seller are you using to check seats?  Fandango?  Cineplex? Something else?

What I do is put my info in a spreadsheet so I don't have to count the seats that are there every single time.  Though if you're doing this from your phone (which I think you've said before), might not be an easy of a solution.

I literally go to cineplex website and look at seats sold. Whats weird is i do have a template i use...but i had 63 for a certain theatre then seat count said 53 seats, okay....so maybe made mistake now i check today its 63 again...how did theatre lose then gain 10 seats? Weird.....

As for toronto im going to give it one try for "fun" and if its too much then ill stick with london

I've thought about giving the whole Houston area a try once, just to see what it was like.

Then I realized that for something like TLK, that would involve the strong end of nearly 700 Thursday night shows, I decided against it 🤣

Yeah, for a place like Houston (Top five US city by pop) I would never consider doing a seat count for anything but the biggest of big films.  And most likely, not even then.  Most I would do is a sellout check.

I'm lucky in that Sacramento isn't THAT big of a metro area.  And I'm also 'only' doing things within 20 miles of downtown Sacto, so I'm ignoring things further out.

Also, if I'm honest, this has had a bit of a mission creep with both new theaters opening AND Thr previews accelerating every year.  If I was going to start this all over, I suspect I wouldn't be checking as many theaters as I am.

That's why @keysersoze123's suggestion about a group project of compiling ticket info from major cities, while interesting, is completely impractical IMO.  We'd probably need at least 10 people alone for NYC and its surrounding areas given how many theaters there are there.  Similar problems for LA and Chicago.

If Pulse stays down (I suspect it'll be back after the weekend, as I said earlier) just have to go back to the old days of comparing local reports and figuring out the big picture from there.

Still take us collectively over Deadline/trades when it comes to figuring out an upcoming OW, even with such a handicap. ;)
