Really depends on what you're looking for, but usually the most important takeaway for just a casual glance is the comp.  More on that in a bit.   But even that is highly dependent on a movie being either in a similar genre or having a similar pre-sale pattern as folks will buy tickets at different times during a pre-sale window thanks to a very long list of factors.   Add in that movies will have different promotional schedules during their pre-sales (review embargoes, TV ca

On the one hand, yes. 

On the other hand... China and Korea give detailed box office details to the minute. It's not that far fetched that we were heading into that direction. 

I don't see how that transparency was hurting Fandango's business prospects. Sure, it's proprietary data, but it's not like it was even exact figures... 

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Those are old numbers, Finnick, from when Pulse was still up.  There hasn't been any sort of new numbers from Pulse now for several days.

Remember how Pulse is actually a feature on the iPad and Android Fandango app?

 

Remember how a couple of us checked our Fandango Apps to see if Pulse was still working and just said it was unavailable?

 

Well I decided to check my Fandango App on my iPad and found that there was an update waiting on Fandango.   Then saw the date of the update and went "Oh shit."

 

I just updated my Fandango app on my iPad and PULSE HAS BEEN REMOVED ENTIRELY FROM THE APP.

 

Pulse is dead.  It has ceased to be.  It has gone to meet its developer.  Bereft of code it sits in trash.


THIS IS AN EX-APP.

 

RIP PULSE:  2010-2019.

Nope. It's completely gone.  That link on the first page is actually a somewhat backdoor link/URL to the webpage what was updating the app on the iPad/Android.  With the Pulse service gone there's nothing to update.  Nothing for a tracker to grab.

 

Now, there is a slight chance that Fandango will roll out something different/new at some point.  It didn't mention removing Pulse in the small amount of info it gave in this update, for instance.

 

But it's just as likely that it is gone forever.  Just have to keep an eye out and if anything actually happens on this front.

Ohh shit ...this is the huge set backward to the domestic box office .. if they don't open it ...

 

we need to track theater-wise now .. (a time consuming work)
