Only thing...next week, Cinemark joins Atom while Regal leaves...and Atom will have the amazing ticket deal...so once next Tuesday hits, Cinemark may have a ramp up in sales not matched across all theaters...

Wait, Regal is leaving Atom?

Sigh.  So much for using them locally as a backup when Fandango is getting fussy.

PS:  Cinemark is already up on Atom locally, so it might be a staggered rollout nationally.

EDIT:::

Oh for fucks sake, Regal.

Avengers: Endgame -- 2nd Friday -- Status as of Thursday, May 2 @ 8pm CST

TOTALS: 51 show times, 1233 tickets sold out of 5453 available (22.61%)

Going to try to use this as a barometer for TLK true Friday. Endgame pulled $40.7 million for its 2nd Friday. I'll still be in the theater for TLK at 8pm next Thursday (seeing it at 6pm) but I should be able to manage pulling numbers for it by 845pm. I expect it to be more walkout heavy than EG but I'd like to see at least 1600 tickets sold by the same equivalent time.

Isn't that the one that was mega low for KotM? Or am I thinking of another theater/film?

Like, there is one theater locally that hardly has any sales for TLK as well (35 tickets out of 1800).  It's also consistently the worst selling theater in the region when it comes to early pre-sales, so I won't call it out.

Our Stadium Theater in the Cinemagic Region's the same.  It has 356 seat auditoriums and it's it's half full I consider that "really impressive"

Yeah, it's just weird as the theater in question I wouldn't have thought to be so bad on early sales before I started tracking it.  Now though when I see large amount of sales there (IW, EG) I KNOW the film is going to be a monster.

I'm actually surprised at the seats sold here. On the day that reviews dropped, the film declined from the prior day's ticket sales. But a day later, with those reviews setting in, it leapfrogged over yesterday and the day before when it comes to tickets sold. I guess it's kind of a combination of a lot of things. It's about a week away, so people and families are just now getting their tickets in. People read the reviews, thought it over, and the whole main complaint of "It's just the same movie again" is weirdly kind of a draw for a good chunk of its audience. The Tomato turned fresh, so Tomato Law worked its magic...okay, I kid on the last one, but those first two are pretty strong theories...probably? I dunno.

Much better day in Sacto than yesterday.  Part of it is being six days out, but another part of it is sheer recovery.

The two main comps Aladdin and Toy Story 4 didn't increase that much from their pace (Aladdin: + .07 and TS4 +.009).  But to still keep on that pace for those two films is very good as it would suggest 24m (Aladdin) or 22.75m (TS4).  We'll see what happens when those films get their boosts over the weekend and whether or not TLK will continue to keep pace or whether it'll tighten back up a bit.

Glad to see it’s recovering, i doubt it will got close to JW2, but all the others comparisons is starting to become close, so i guess $ 22-24M previews is becoming a good target.

Let’s wait to see if this maintains until next Thursday (i think it will), but this is very promising, +200M OW maybe will happen afterall.

The way it's destroying JW2 is insane and will definitely make up for the ground it might lose to JW2 in the final days considering that had a big boost during that point in time.

Perc Sold Tick Sold Sold That Day

T-4:	21.58% 2430 220

T-2:	25.19% 3424 551

T-0.5:	36.11% 4953 761
T-0:	45.37% 6223 1270

JW2 went utterly bat shit insane its last 48 hours selling 2799 tickets on Wed and Thr (to stop of tracking).

To put that in perspective, it had sold 2873 tickets at the end of Monday night of that week.  Simply amazing.

Lol. Why is there a 'sad' reaction to this? It's really good.
