I'm thinking a 19M thursday with 8.8x multi for a 167M OW is a very strong possibility.

A weaker IM than Fallen Kingdom? Hmm I guess anything is possible but I don’t see that happening.

no reason at all to have such a low multi with the minimum thursday possible

i can see a 8.8x if the previews come like $ 22-23M. with $ 19M, possible, but far from very strong possibility

The other note is. DAMN were there a shit ton of shows added today.  I think we're almost at the final slate, as a lot of places have their full lineups up.  But there are still a couple of places that have room to juggle, so it might go up a BIT more over the last two days.  Especially if they cancel showings for other films.

lollololololoollolloooooolollololol

What an idiot.  How does he get away with typing this sort of nonsense all the time? :redcapes:

Spoiler

Don't get TOO excited, mind.  But the 16 showings added today (all reserved) were a lot more than I was expecting.

And it still might go up a showing or two before all is said and done.

TLK is showing us one thing, IMO. Endgames length did hold it back from truly maxing out the market. Can you imagine the show times for a movie with Endgame hype/demand and a 2 hour runtime?

It does seem to me from an anecdotal standpoint that theaters are plowing more and more showtimes into Thr previews.  Even on a year-to-year basis, and excluding EG, it just seems like theaters are trying to stuff more  showings than they once did on Thr for the big blockbusters.

...

If TROS comes in at 2:15 to 2:25 or so, not sure I'm really looking forward to the number of showings locally for that run. qnqGT0e.png qnqGT0e.png qnqGT0e.png

(from a counting standpoint, that is. ;))

Frozen 2 as well should be pretty nutty, since it'll be just under the 2 hour mark as well, presumably.

Hmmm...

At final bell?  Quite possibly.  Especially since another new theater (a Studio Movie Grill) should be open by then.

Supposed to open "third quarter" of this year, but we all know how building projects can get delayed.

The Lion King Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-1 Day and Counting

Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold
TOTALS 0 119 5,650 20,469 27.60%

Total Showings Added Today: 7

Total Seats Added Today: 323

Total Seats Sold Today: 867

From yesterday's 731, that's an increase of 136 raw tickets and 19% percentage wise, which...huh. I don't know if I'd say that's awful, but that's a very soft increase. Now part of it could be that a lot of theaters are rapidly selling seats, as a good chunk of them are close to half or more than half filled up, but it's still a data point we might need to take into consideration, especially if this becomes a pattern tonight.

Your area had a weirdly huge increase yesterday to be fair
