Really depends on what you're looking for, but usually the most important takeaway for just a casual glance is the comp.  More on that in a bit.   But even that is highly dependent on a movie being either in a similar genre or having a similar pre-sale pattern as folks will buy tickets at different times during a pre-sale window thanks to a very long list of factors.   Add in that movies will have different promotional schedules during their pre-sales (review embargoes, TV ca

Having seen the movie, I think WoM will be better than people think. It is dark I guess but it plays almost like a blockbuster film. I even feel like it was dumbed down to be more accessible. I found it entertaining to watch myself and the crowd clapped at the end. I don't think the movie will collapse over the weekend or after it.

I think it's the editing that made it more accessible and fast paced, it never felt like a slow-burn movie to me opposed to what I heard from early reactions. there was always something happening.

I have never done this before(looking at Pan US AMC reserved ticket sales). So there is no reference. but it looks like > 200K ticket sales in just these reserved theaters. its missing sellouts(you cant grab data for sellouts as they are removed in the system) plus there are other chains.

 

That said at absolute terms the number is HUGE and still has huge number of screens and seats for walkins. So I am thinking low teens(13-14m).

 

That said other  reports from @Porthos @Eric , @FlashMaster659and @Menor are showing number closer to IT2 and they have been consistently doing it. So take my prediction with a grain of salt.

Didn't do a mid-day report for It: 2 so these comps will have to do for now until a few hours later. Of this bunch, Hustlers is probably the only believable comp here (maybe even Rambo to an arguable extent). But regardless, it still looks like Joker is on pace for a strong debut tonight.

So I was looking at how many reserved shows are there for OD and there are 5701 shows to track !!!!. Probably will run 4 hours to get the number. I may try that tonight just to see how presales to OD numbers go. Next step is to find a good subset that can be run in a short time but one which will give the best perspective. Probably Top 10-20% of theaters in around 10 locations.

Another killer (clown) day in Sacto.  Comps are converging nicely around 11m (I say that because Joker will probably pass It 2 at final report).  Maybe 11.5, if Venom is more indicative.  But as I warned last night, the Venom comp already dropped by about 500k, and I won't be surprised to see it drop again at final report.  

 

Got some things to do, but I might add some more comps of more of a lol-ish nature in a bit.  Prob depend on if they say anything interesting.  But at the mo, let's look around 11 to 11.5m.  See how it looks at 3pm to 4pm-ish.

Fantastic final day here. But watch me being right and this ends up making 15M tonight 🙄
