The Addams Family Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report Final Count

Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold
TOTALS 0 47 330 6,287 5.25%

Total Seats Sold Today: 113

Comp

1.625x of Dora 1 day before release (2.03M)

1.467x of Abominable 1 day before release (953K)

It's different worlds these two comps. One of them would be fantastic, and the other would be somewhat mediocre. I don't really know what to think at the moment, but I feel this should at least beat out Abominable when it comes to opening weekend.

Just as I thought its doing way better in AMC and that too in IMAX/PLF screens it has gotten in big markets. Not so much for 2d shows. But no question its going to have way better previews than Addams family. I am thinking  ~ 2.5m.

Gemini Man (Mid day update)

Basicallly its PS driven by Imax/PLF. Otherwise the numbers are dismal like cinemark data below and what other posters have been saying. Dont see this beating Addams family this weekend.

AMC - 24553/184770 (991 shows)

Cinemark - 4301/115262  (1102 shows)

It seems like a subscriber-based movie.  If you see it cheap, you'll be there (thus, high Imax/PLF, since that's included at AMC).  And if you can't, you'll see it on Netflix.

Those are the 2 biggest chains offered on Atom, right?  So, the 2 that would benefit the most from the possibly 80 million floating codes (if all TMobile people did their Tuesday stuff) for the $4 tickets...enormous, enormous amounts of those won't be redeemed (probably less than 1%), but enough to make those 2 chains look good:)...

But, I'm still actually hoping it does really well...and I'm seeing it sometime this weekend...but these numbers don't excite me yet, until I see if it's another "if I have the cheap ticket, I'll be there, but if not, I'll pass" movie...

On absolute numbers, neither movie numbers are impressive but Addams family numbers bumped up big time and should continue to do that before night end. So that sense its previews could be like 1.5m instead of sub 1m like how it looked yesterday.

Gemini Man may be just drawing interest from A-List customers :-). I think it will have good previews like 2.5m but have mediocre internal multi.

Now THAts an interesting concept. Is that a thing now....where movies are made with stuff like a list in mind and hoping people

Use the alist to see their movie as a cheap ticket and get money that way or just wait for netflix licencing?

Thats certainly a different interesting way of going for revenue.
