The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

Wouldn't 5.5 in previews mean 60mil+ for the weekend? I don't see the previews to OW multiplier go below 11x.

4pm start time and coupons lead me to believe there was a rush for it. If 20 million opending day happens I imagine 55+. Repeat value is questionable.

Amazing increase for the Sunday of OW. The pace of preview sales actually dropped this past week, but the post preview numbers continue to impress.

Average ticket prices are THAT high? Aren't they betweeen $9-$10 ?

National averages are just that. I mean my little Cinemark has $4 tickets at normal times and we get $3 cheap tuesdays. One of the best theaters in my hometown are is $24 a pop for evening shows so it varies widely.

The next few days of presales for TRoS should be interesting... The IMAX theater in AMC Westminster 24 has reopened. I honestly didn’t even realize it shut down. The last time I tracked it was for Gemini Man, so the only major major release since then was Frozen 2. I noticed they added last minute IMAX showings for Jumanji but didn’t think anything of it until now.

So now there’s 3 new showings of 286 seats each. A decent amount of people have already noticed. Gonna be fun to watch

Something's being shown on Wednesday with The Mandalorian on D+. Interesting to see if there is a surge since it's also 2 days before release (well, 1 day before previews).

I don’t think there’ll be a noticeable surge from that here since I count in the afternoon. Assuming that most people don’t watch the episodes until the afternoon/evening. So if there’s a surge from that, it’ll be lumped in with my final count on Thursday. And of course, it’ll already have a huge bump anyways since it’s the day of previews

It won't be distinguishable from the bumps that are gonna be happening anyway.

I’ve been away from closely tracking the box office for awhile, and have recently been lurking this thread to catch up for the inevitable Star Wars gongshow

Am I correct in that’s TROS is currently looking somewhere around the +\- 40M range for previews? Of course, that’s with  the massive uncertainty of how next week ramp up goes.
