Yeah, lots of laughs during the scares and the ending is really incomplete. Reminds me of Devil Inside lol

 

It’s also not much of a horror film. There’s some jump scares and creepy imagery but it’s more of a mystery/detective story. The pacing could annoy audiences

Damn! I've read many reports exactly like yours...Not a good sign.  The Devil Inside is the last thing I would like to imagine. XD

Tracking has it at $25-30M for the 4-day (so unless overseas saves it, Universal is definitely about to take a bath in red ink for the second time in less than a month).

I think it will play well with the family crowd so the tracking may improve when the marketing kicks in and it won't be facing any direct competition all January.

Only award that its probably winning is Score so I'm not sure if it will get much of a boost.

Quick check in. I am still out traveling and so stopped tracking movies for a while. Just checked how next week openers are at MTC1.

If 1917 wins big tonight I'm calling 40M for it. If not, Ford v Ferrari numbers are probably where it'll land best-case. I think Underwater looks interesting so I'm disappointed it's tracking so low. I also really want to see Just Mercy this weekend... so definitely some decisions to make.
