I checked 1917 and show count is very low for OD at MTC1. But the weekend show count should be updated by wednesday and hopefully we see much bigger count. Otherwise its not sniffing numbers being thrown about in this thread(ignoring the outrageous ones).

Dont' know about Dunkirk (forget Sniper) but 1917 can be this Jan's The Upside.

I really really do think 40M (or more?) could happen for 1917 this weekend. It's PTA's have consistently been around 115-120% of Lone Survivor (same calendar) which did 38M on its wide release (similar comps would give 1917 43-46). 

 

Granted, 1917 won't play as big to middle America as Lone Survivor, so that could hurt it. But let's not forget that Lone Survivor was pulling in its PTAs in 2 theatres while 1917 has been in 11. Not to mention this movie is riding a wave of hype after the Globes, which Survivor didn't have. Survivor opened wide in under 2900 theatres too, and I might be mistaken but isn't 1917 on 3000+?

 

I honestly think Lone Survivor is the o/u number at this point, with a lot of room for growth.
