1917 is breaking out for sure. Just Mercy is an interesting one for me. Its limited release PTA isn't all that impressive but there is an audience for it. $4k PTA from 2500 screens is a possibility but I don't see it going any higher than that.

So, 1st local (Cinemark) set for this weekend...in good news for 1917, it gets 1 of the 2 equally sized biggest screens at this theater.  In bad news for 1917, it only gets the 1 screen.  

 

In good news, in weekend #4, TROS does keep the 2nd of the biggest screens.  In bad news, it drops to that single screen and 4 showings (from 3 screens and 12 showings this week) - I'm looking for it to be dropped MLK weekend, or dumped into a smallest screen or split screen b/c it now does have the least showings of any movie here...

 

In interesting news, I want to know what SARILERU NEEKEVVARU is.  Right now, it has virtually sold out all its Friday showings (and was given 2nd primetime screens to get more seats).  It's in a 2nd biggest size theater, and its presales are crazy for a January foreign film.  Is this supposed to be top 10 this weekend for this type of film (or is it only getting 10-20 theaters worth of booking)?

Good increase for 1917 at MTC1. its at   14521/112561 225965.93(655 shows). So Overall PS should be around 1.1m and it could hit 3m with previews. Let us see how things are by thursday morning. I will not be able to update late on thursday as I will be traveling. In fact not much of an update till next wednesday when I am back home.

I am not buying it. Its show count is quite low for a 40m opener. 

 

1917 OD PS MTC1 - overall 1829 shows 19603/342699 308204.05

 

Needs to hit 2m in MTC1 to hit double digit true friday to keep hopes for 40m OD. 

 

That said it should open more than tracking. i would say 30m OW.
