The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

Bloodshot and The Hunt seemed pretty DOA, I Still believe could end up a mid teens opener though

Good call on I still believe

I Still Believe (T-3)

MTC1 - overall 348 shows 2117/51372 25126.82 18830.16

MTC2 - overall 533 shows 3337/76583 36133.31 24671.04

This will have the highest previews(and highest OW) among the openers. Numbers are not bad considering it has so few shows. It could hit 1m previews and mid teens as said by @The Fast and the Furiosa

I am surprised as I thought Bloodshot would do the best.

The Hunt (T-3)

MTC1 - overall 350 shows 1656/44576 21676.52 16738.29

MTC2 - overall 510 shows 452/61340 5095.92 3518.62

This is doing better than Bloodshot with fewer shows though it does not look like doing that much either.

Betty Gilpin > Vin Diesel confirmed (but we all knew that).

I Still Believe doing alright wouldn't be that big of a surprise. There's the Christian audience plus appeal to Riverdale fans thanks to the main star's presence.

Even if The Hunt tanks, at least Lindelof still has the CEO of HBO willing to green-light his next project

I'm sure Jason Blum would be willing to fund another project of his as well considering he does produce more dramatic material from time to time (was one of the producers on BlacKkKlansman and produced both Whiplash and HBO's The Normal Heart in 2014).

Ah I thought this had some potential for a (very mini) breakout. Looks like mid single digits then?

Mutants probably stays 😂😂 its dead regardless

I actually went and checked the LRF afterward to see what the biggest movies were, and they have Lovebirds doing more. So maybe that should move 🤣

I doubt Mulan will move because of the legal probems involved. When they signed the contracts with the theaters, the release date for Mulan became a legal obligation for Disney, with a world of legal hurt for them if they did not fulfill it.

Given that  Mutants was being dumped anyway...……….I think NM has been de facto dead for along time. That two different studios treated the film like something the cat dragged in should tell you something.

Guys my number for Bloodshot MTC1 was wrong(should have guessed looking at how low it was). Here you go anyway

BloodShot (T-2)

MTC1 - overall 670 shows 2143/115199 32067.98

MTC2 - overall 1180 shows 2391/182840 30973.32

Still not great considering its less than 48 hours to go to release but its not as ridiculous. My apologies for posting wrong data.

I think its still headed up for 0.5m or so in previews but let us see how walk ups are on thursday.
