It just dawned on me that Run and Run Sweetheart Run are (were?) supposed to come out on the same weekend. If (key word being "if") everything were to return to normal over the next month or so I hope those two stick with opening on the same date because the "wrong movie!" confusion would be worth it all by itself.

God, like when a movie is coming out should be the main thing we are worrying about right now.......

If all you think about is COVID-19 24/7, you WILL mess yourself up.  Allowing oneself to think about the trivialities of life, even for a short time, isn't exactly a bad thing.

In fact, I'd say it was a good thing.

And if that triviality is wondering about a movie schedule or making jokes about them... Well, I can think of far worse trivialities.

All news from the industry in the immediate future is gonna be of the "how is COVID-19 affecting it today" variety for sure. One would hope during this unplanned time off they would learn to stop making stupid scheduling decisions like putting two movies with essentially the same title on the same weekend (although it shouldn't be that hard to predict which movie would win: one has Sarah Paulson, and the other doesn't) once we officially return to the mundane activities of everyday life but that's probably asking too much.

Since we are not tracking anything at this point, this thread must be only used to post updates from tracking perspective. We have a COVID-19 thread to monitor overall situation.

It was ok to bring up COVID-19 while we were tracking AQP2 or Mulan as that was a huge factor in BO potential. but now that is out of the window. So I would say let us move all discussions to the right thread.

its very depressing situation but I am with Porthos on not letting it overwhelm us emotionally.

@TMP It took a lot longer than I thought, but here's my post-Roni schedule (don't think I missed anything). It was pretty hard to really find a good opening for each movie. I do not envy the scheduling department. I also didn't really have a good idea on where to put the non-Disney studios' untitled movies that are in production. They're a lot harder to pin down.

Jungle Cruise around Christmas seems perfect tbh. It looks like the kind of warm weather entertainment that could work just as well in a holiday climate.

Yeah it could be Disney's Jumanji. Seems like a solid crowd-pleaser that might benefit from being one of the first movies once people are more comfortable going out in public again.
