AMC last week had 20% of screens open, Regal was 37% while Cinemark was 70%.

 

Things will be better this week but don't know by how much.

 

Still I think MTC3 may be biggest chain, so thinking 150k. MTC1 is 130k while MTC2 at 90k. That's around 370k in 3 chains.

 

Earlier we had like 80% coverage, donno if changed now, for sake of it, am rounding off to $400k. Nationwide perhaps $500k. We still have like a week to go, this should do very healthy numbers in sneaks.

 

@keysersoze123 have you accounted for social distancing blocked seats? I hope so.

Another slow day. Not sure if there will be a big boost on the show day.

next weekend there will be 2300 theaters opened compare to 1800 the previous weekend so probably we will see a boost

its basically a classic deadline article here guys nothing to see here,  Industry sources are expecting Tenet have a baseline of $25M across the five-day offshore opening and some are predicting higher; $30M+ (we’ve even heard $40M+) is a possibility

Lol it needs to have a very horrible WOM for this to open only with 25m. Even 30-35m I think is very conservative. Just with normal WOM in Germany, France, UK, Spain, Italy and SK alone is already 25m. With rest of the world probably reach 35m easily.

Aren't you taking a low gross for MTC1. Its ATP should be 15+ no?

 

We are still 6 days out. 10% increases are pretty fine I guess at this moment. It should jump Saturday onward.

 

Anyways how's New Mutants and TENET OD doing.

This value from me calculating from actual show ticket prices. This is assuming all are adult tickets sold. it would be lower if there are child/senior citizen tickets. Issue for MTC1 is its biggest markets NY/NJ/CA are all closed. So its ATP is down big time.

I'll do an update tonight, but Tenet's sales for today at least are very very strong. Having more showtimes (almost) makes up for less seats per auditorium. Sales are comparable, or better, than for Thursday preview numbers for movies like Pikachu and John Wick 3 (if my memory is correct). I'm not sure how I can possibly use past comps, because my system counted for the American box office being completely open, so maybe I just take 10% of what I'd normally expect? I'm not entirely sure how to go about this yet, but I'll do a more in-depth look tonight.

 

Oh, and New Mutants is at 18 tickets for my local tomorrow.

Tenet has sold over 200 tickets at my local theatre for tonight( I missed the 5pm and 5:30pm shows) that’s the one closest to my house.

 

That’s a lot better then I expected tbh, that’s almost all shows at 75% capacity or more(reduced capacity obviously).

A friend of mine told its doing really well in Cinesphere. A couple of shows sold-out for that big theater.

These are pretty good IMO. I mean usually for a big opener day 2 is lower despite being Saturday, this is a working day.

 

Interested in how actual OD & Thursday previews are.

I missed this message. They are different. One of them is listed as sold and other is listed as Blocked(different text for 2 MTC). I did account for that.I had to change my process to make it work. I thought it may not even work as through UI there is a popup about social distanced seats. Thankfully I am getting data for now.

With the article saying that "intl numbers won't be available until Monday" does that mean no Canadian #s are reported either? For Unhinged, on the Canadian opening the numbers were listed by Mojo as a "domestic" figure, does that mean Canada exists in some weird state that's not "intl" but not "domestic" either?
