Tenet Early Access 8/31

MTC1 - 12049/126951 163K (642 shows)  +931

MTC2 - 9995/141320   126K (958 shows)  +1039

Still slowing plodding along.

Tenet Early Access 8/31

MTC1 - 13560/133289 184K (703 shows) +1511

MTC2 - 11247/142502 142K (974 shows) +1252

Definitely much better day that yesterday. Based on how MTC1 worked for New Mutants I would say 2m is possible for Tenet.

Roughly $900k in sales so far. Adding $90k ish. I guess tomorrow shall add another $150-200k. Then eventually 1.75-2x in walk-ins. That gives $1.8-2.2mn.

MTC 1 and MTC 2 were just 25% for New Mutants on Friday and 45% on Thursday. Don't know what to make of that for TENET sneaks. @keysersoze123 any updates.

If you can, can you post TENET numbers for all 4 sneaks and OD. Will be great to know. Thanks.

MTC2 - 12875/143555 161K (993 shows) +1628

Still slowly ambling along. Let us see how walks up are tomorrow. I am thinking it should double from these numbers but these are uncharted territories.

@charlie Jatinder I will try getting other numbers but I am back from a long hike up a steep trails. Numbers for Day 2 will be less than half Day 1 early shows. Day 3 will be lower. I once checked for thursday numbers and they were not that high. No reason to wait until thursday as early shows are not that limited.

Tenet is selling extremely well at the theaters open around here for tomorrow. Even seen some sellouts or close to them. Good sign, at least.

But what does a sellout mean. In PA sellout is just 25 tickets and so would be hit very quickly. So sellouts are not as impressive as before.

A real IMAX that usually seats 300 people has sold out its three shows across the three Early Access nights at 50% capacity. Another big theater has also sold over 100 seats between two PLF shows tonight plus another 75+ across the regular shows when I checked last night. Not especially jaw-dropping numbers due to the capacity limits, but in the current climate, pretty good.

Quick update on release day morning. Hoping it increases 80-100% from these with walk ups.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — Starting Monday, businesses including movie theaters, gyms, museums and hair and nail salons can resume indoor operations, with modifications, under newly issued state guidance related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Restaurants, places of worship and movie theaters can reopen indoor operations Monday, but are only allowed up to 25% occupancy or 100 people -- whichever is less. Museums, zoos and aquariums are also required not to exceed 25% occupancy.

That 25% occupation  limit is going to hurt bigtime. Sure won't encourage studios to make blockbuster releases anytime soon.

Smaller movies are more likely to get screwed over the most to accommodate tentpoles like Wonder Woman and Black Widow given the automatically high demand for them. Part of the reason why September and October are still mostly empty months.
