Logan Lucky has not sold a single ticket for today or for tomorrow. I have no idea how much ground the south/rural areas can make up for it to reach double digits for the weekend but I'm finding it difficult to see how it gets there at the moment.

 

I guess when the preview numbers come in, we will have a better idea.

Usually around 10 AM est but sometimes they take longer and don't get out until after 11AM so in around another 2-3 hours I would say

the-numbers 15

mojo 15.5

pro.bo 16.8

 

all predicting an ow below valerian. guru's 11 is most surprising.

15 wouldn't be that catastrophic considering the budget is low

Those numbers are in line with the average comedy this year sans Girls Trip (which speaks volumes as to the state of the genre right now).

THB has added a fair amount more since last night. It's behind what TDT was doing and maybe AB (I'll see if I can find my report that morning). Logan Lucky only added two seats to my showing in an hour. Again, this is very walkup based, but it isn't encouraging.

LL is bombing though that's hardly the case in reality given its unique release strategy that already paid off. I wouldn't call the movie all-star cause the only star here is Channing. The rest of them may be known but they haven't been draws so far and I'm not sure if any of them is even an added value. Also, it's a type of a movie that actors do because they want to work with the director (a resume build) and not because they expect to set the BO on fire.

though we don't have much data. baywatch did badly, but which other comedy underperformed...can't think of any.

no it would be far from catastrophic. but disappointing for sure. has an open week. annabelle 2's hold will be the only other movie above 10 and that too from a very different genre. so at the very least i hope it does high-teens.

HMG - 28/163 for 10:45am Dolby Atmos at local mall theater ($13.29 tickets).  Just not acting like a ~15M opening here anyway.  For that I wouldn't expect the 11pms and 10am showings to have any real sales, but we'll see
