There is absolutely no competition. DS D2 is easily beating MK OD with less shows. I am not seeing 20m OW for MK for now. Let us see how things go. DS had bunch of new shows added in MTC1 just now and so will take a day or 2 to fill them up. I think there is so much more potential to add more shows. But as @Menor said it could be frontloaded though daily sales are still quite good(slightly better than daily sales for GVK at similar point).

I think its constrained by limited shows. Still its PS is not that far off from MK. Overall PS is still 22% ahead of MK.

One thing to remember about the Demon Slayer tickets is that they are basically all 'premium pricing'.

Looking at the theater i work at we've got Matinee tickets for $8 (before 5PM), then after 5PM its $11 for adults and $9 for senior/kid/military, for DS every ticket is $12.50

Makes it really easy to determine the income for a single theater since presumably tickets are the same price in every showing.
As it stands for Thursday-Saturday out of 18 showings we've got a bit over $8000 in revenue which is pretty impressive for us already.

I am sticking with my prediction earlier of 150K MTC1 and 130K MTC2. Also PWP is looking like 1 million OD which is quite good. Weekend sales are stronger for PWP. I am thinking 7-8m OD which is quite good considering its normal mid week outside summer.

I did not update yesterday but its definitely slowing down relative to GVK. Especially at MTC1. Good thing is its still slightly ahead in $ value due to higher ticket prices but GVK will overtake there as well as final push wont be that strong. GVK did 395K between the 2 MTC.  I think somewhere between 250-300K would be a good range. I think that will translate to 6.5-7m OD. But this movie would be hard to project as it has a niche. I could still be overestimating it big time.

As far as OD totals goes are we factoring in that the tickets are a bit more expensive?

MTC 1 and 2 will probably be around 60-70% depending on final screencount for DS. If it get to 250K, that will be $3.3-3.4M Approx, $4.75-5.75M depending on release size, perfectly fine.

I feel like I can rarely tell which days keyser means with “OD” or “D2” for this movie. Is 6.5-7 tpsupposed to be the actual OD figure (Th+Fri?). Or just previews? And D2 is Saturday, but since it’s being compared with MK’s OD I guess that’s how he’s referring to Friday? So then afaik we don’t know how actual D2 (Sat) looking?   
 

Anyway 6.5 would be a nutso good preview figure, if those nums are Th only I definitely expect it will go lower as sales remain relatively tapped out. But 6.5M Th+Fr would be pretty disappointing at this point.

Pretty sure for DS OD is Thursday, then D2 Friday and so on.
