Tomorrow will be crucial. GvK exploded on its final day, earning nearly 970 tickets in one day. Of course today was such a good day for MK that I guess it doesn't matter that much, so long as there's enough solid momentum

Definite sign of front loading. I am not sure what to project. GVK did slightly < 2x at MTC1 and about 2.2x at MTC2. But this will not be able to go that high. May be 250K admits at this point. That would be ~ 3.5m across tracked shows. Probably tracking towards 6-6.5m thursday BO.

PWP MTC1 has 985(+82) sellouts while MTC2 has 1713(+101) sellouts. 

 

Show counts shot up big time. Also data is for just 20 hours and that makes it super impressive. what is missing from $ value is 145 sellouts in non reserved theaters. That could add another 200K(this is a guesstimate). So its ~ 2.5 million between the 2 MTC without PWP.  There is also another 158 non reserved shows which I cannot track. I think it will end up higher in the 2 MTC than what I thought. I am thinking 4-4.5m at this point(300K+ seats sold between the 2 MTC). But I think this will be much bigger market share as well as I am tracking lot more shows than what I did previously. Still based on the I will bump up my OD to 9-10m.

Good increase in show counts but its slipping off from GVK. Still overall numbers are close in $ value. I am not changing my projections at this point.

As I posted above, dramatic increase in show counts for DS. I expect the BO to increase at faster pace in next few days. For MK the PS is chugging along very well and  it  2984 has caught up at MTC2 at least in ticket sales. But I expect DS PS to also increase at better rate soon with increased showcount. Overall BO should see a big boost.

 

MK seem to have few shows on thursday at MTC2(none at MTC1). Its at 647/17075 6158.22 103 shows(19 theatres). Almost no impact to overall OD BO.

Should not matter. Sunday drop will be within norm. Saturday PS provides some info on if it will be frontloaded or not. MK is definitely showing signs for frontloading.

I see. So in normal condition, saturday will jump from friday or at least stay flat but MK presale for saturday is less than 1/2 of its friday. 

What is the normal drop for sunday?

IMO going for $5.5M previews but Friday def now looks like will beat Thu. 45 more REGAL theaters opening will reduce MTC 1 and MTC 2 ratio. Can see Fri hit $6-6.5M. Similarly Saturday seems uber strong.

Mortal Kombat is just very strong. Too strong. I can even see $8-9M Friday from here if walk-ins are good. Def 20M weekend, may be even 23-25.

What if its Saturday drop 40- 50% from Friday? The presale of Sat is around 1/2 of Fri and it has 3 days OW so Sat is supposed to be its biggest day?

I usually dont look at SAT PS, as SAT PS grow a lot more on Friday than Fri grow on Thur. Beside PSm increases, so its not new that SAT PS is low but Final gross is more. I will at least expect it to be Flat.

What about the Sun drop you expect for these 2 movies? Based on the current trend? 

Can DS Sat jump from Fri?
