I uh...I forgot to do a comp for this yesterday, which was GvK's first day of presales. Of course GvK isn't the fairest comparison, considering how hyped it was and how many tickets it sold right out of the gate. But hey, this is all we got, and hopefully things trend more positively towards GvK as we get closer to release.

Decided to delete the comp for right now, but I'll probably wait a couple of days for a GvK T-x  comp to be added since Sacto didn't start selling tickets right away.

Main thing to speak of in Sacto really is the dearth of showtimes.  Isn't helped by the fact that 1 Regal isn't having Thr Previews yet for some inexplicable reason (it's already open, ftr) and the three Cinema Wests plus the SMG don't have Thr Previews listed either.  No idea if those outlets will eventually put up showtimes, but the lack of about 25% of the local market is putting an undeniable crimp on showings.

AQP2 PS should be quite back-loaded. Paramount haven't really their final push, seem like they are reserving the buzz energy latter. And i realised they have withdraw their 1st teaser and full trailer from public list on you tube. Only final trailer are visible. Not sure why they are doing this.

101 tickets sold across 8 theaters. Invisible Man comp: 1.53M

Interested to see how this comp works, can't imagine it'll be too far off because of how small Thursday will be.

Horror genre will soon take over this quiet Summer start. For 3 weeks in a row, audience will have a psychological horror flick, a sci-fi horror and supernatural horror. All are top-tier brand. Hope audience have that appetite

Spiral Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-3 and Counting (Thu+Fri)

Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold
TOTALS 0 45 354 2835 12.49%

Paging @CJohn

This seems like a breakout at first glance. And yes, this is a good start. HOWEVER, Black-led movies overperform in ticket sales here in Philly, so I don't think I can use any fair comps just yet. The closest thing, I guess, is Boogie, another minority-led overperformer, which there translates to about...2.56M OD. Maybe that's a sign, but it is way too early and way too flimsy of a comparison. Really, this is a big "I dunno" at the moment that will really only help future Black-led movies.

Still very early, and things will improve once we match days tomorrow, but it's looking to be really soft. Another one of those WB midrange adult titles that nobody watches

Spotted the first local Regal Private Watch Parties tonight.  Interestingly enough, they are going for "only" $199 (as opposed to the $250 price mentioned on the corporate FAQ page).

This could be a brief treat but at the moment I can count again :). And maybe, if I don't overstrain their patience with me, it continues. So I have chosen the 3 most frequented theaters (and that in Arizona because it was the first one which worked again and for some variation):

Those Who Wish Me Dead, counted today at 11am EST (no showtimes announced for Thursday so far):

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 19 (total tickets sold for Friday, 5 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 0 (3 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 8 (2 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 45 (3 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 4 theaters till today for Friday: 72.

Indeed so far it's not busy but OTOH the number in LA is ok. Let's see how it develops till Thursday and Friday. I would be surprised if this movie would totally flop.

Spiral, counted today at 11am EST:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 73 (total tickets sold for Thursday) / 81 (total tickets sold for Friday, 9 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): theater is open only 3 days per week / 8 (7 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 25 / 30 (4 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 100 / 133 (9 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 4 theaters till today for Thursday: 198 and for Friday: 252.

Not bad at all!
Rough comps: The Grudge (2020, 11.4M OW) had 312 and 246 tickets sold in the same 4 theaters BUT on Thursday, Crawl (12.0M OW) had 194 and 154 in 9 theaters (NY was missing) on the same day/Tuesday.
Hopefully this continues.
