This seems like a breakout at first glance. And yes, this is a good start. HOWEVER, Black-led movies overperform in ticket sales here in Philly, so I don't think I can use any fair comps just yet. The closest thing, I guess, is Boogie, another minority-led overperformer, which there translates to about...2.56M OD. Maybe that's a sign, but it is way too early and way too flimsy of a comparison. Really, this is a big "I dunno" at the moment that will really only help future Black-led movies.

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 25 (total tickets sold for Friday, 5 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 0 (3 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 10 (2 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 46 (3 showtimes)
 

Total tickets sold in 4 theaters till today for Friday: 81.

Not good, almost no increase. But maybe people who are interested in this film notice that they don't have to reservate tickets.

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 83 (total tickets sold for Thursday) / 106 (total tickets sold for Friday, 9 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): - / 8 (7 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 4 theaters till today for Thursday: 265 and for Friday: 321.

Up 34% and 27%. Not overwhelmingly big jumps but ok.
Rough comps: The Grudge (11.4M OW) had 312 and 246 tickets sold in the same 4 theaters on Thursday (I did only count on that day), Crawl (12.0M OW) had 156 and 155 in the same 4 theaters (but NY was very recently added) on the same day/Wednesday. The Invisible Man (28.2M OW) had on Wednesday in the same 4 theaters 533 and 548 sold tickets.

Just letting people know here that things might be a little late. A bunch of theaters that are still closed and set to open in the coming days or weeks have finally updated, so I have to add in a whole bunch of showings and theaters, especially for Quiet Place 2, which will put me back an hour or so. But hey, this had to happen at some point. Just pray for me when I have to go to work early.

 

Other housekeeping things, both Cruella and Conjuring 3 have showtimes posted, but neither are available for purchase yet. I'm definitely tracking Cruella for all its days, but Conjuring 3 is a bit of a coin toss. Maybe I'll do it for future horror titles, maybe I'll give it a pass. It'll probably really depend on when stuff like F9 and Black Widow get their tickets up
