Had to do my usual correction with GvK on its final days, since that didn't have Thursday previews and whatnot. Even still, this was an okay day, though I hope the next few days improve quite dramatically.

So F9 T-3 Days $490K Approx in MTC 2 for THU and $510K for FRI. That should be around $2.5-2.6M Nationwide for THU and $2.75-3M ish for FRI.

 

As for projections, say another 5K addition on TUE and 8K on WED for Previews. That will give 50K Previews pre-sales. May be it doubles to 100K. That will roughly be $7-7.5M ish. $8M will probably require ~115K MTC 2.

 

Similarly OD will probably add 6K tomorrow and 10K on WED. Final day of pre-sales could be may be 35-40K for 90-95K final pre-sales. May be even 100K. May be multi will be just 2x or may be 2.5x. There is a lot of scope.

So as one can probably deduce, I was able to reintegrate exactly one Cinema West location tonight into the track.  It's a small dine-in theater that is re-opening on the 8th (it was so small that the various caps must have made in impractical to reopen).  I noticed it having seat maps a few days ago, but I was unable to buy any tickets.  Just checked again tonight, and for whatever reason (either because it's opening on the 8th, or because the system Cinema West is using thinks the seats are already properly distanced) I am able to 100% verify each and every seat sold there.

 

Now it's not very many tickets added to the total.  But this particular theater tends to sell its seats much closer to release date, except for the biggest of movies.  So adding 11 sold tickets now isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

 

Am dithering about adjusting it for the F9 comp.  The theater is/will be closed throughout the F9 pre-sale track, so it'll never be a factor for F9 pre-sales.  On the other hand, I usually don't comp for a theater (re-)opening locally for a variety of factors.  So I'll probably not adjust for that going forward and, well, just treat it like it is: A new theater.

 

(For the record, this was the last theater in the region that was closed.  So as of BW the Greater Sacramento Region will be fully armed and operational)

AMC has taken off the social distancing blocked seats.  Slowly getting back to normal! 

 

I've been working on tracking three markets, but was waiting to get a little further before posting so I'd have some comparisons to work with.

The bookings in AMC with all those spaces in between looks weird. Usually bookings are more packed toward top seats. Feel for people who booked bottom rows and now bulk of top row seats are available. Wonder how flexible is the cancellation system in  USA. In India, can get only couple of free cancellation.

FWIW, Disney Springs is still upholding seat blocking due to the resort's overall capacity restrictions. Everywhere else in Florida looks to be lifted though, including my regular theater.

F9 sales have really picked up at my theater for Thursday. The Cinemark XD 7pm has 45 seats sold. The small independent theater's 7pm showing so far has 17 sold. AMC's 8pm IMAX is about half-full already with 79 tickets. The 7pm Dolby is almost soldout too--78 seats
