=====

At this point in F9's track, I was able to confirm that Cinema West had unreliable seat map data, which meant I had to remove tracking data from three theaters for the rest of its run. This caused the comp against F9 to raise ever so slightly.

Not much else to say.  Is what it is.

Saturday update is much better for TSS than the others.  I'll try to pull together some comps in the next couple of updates.

These look mostly about right, all things considered. Normally Respect would have major breakout potential but with its main demographic (older audiences) being the one group that has yet to make a notable return to multiplexes who knows how well it'll do.  Don't Breathe 2 will likely follow in the footsteps of the recent Spiral and Escape Room installments and become another rejected horror sequel.

Jungle Cruise:

6:00 Dolby: 19/236

6:30 IMAX: 0/372

7:00: 2/107

7:30 3D: 1/77

Total: 22/792

Comps:

6% of Black Widow Previews the day before (790k)

17% of F9 Previews three days out (1.2M)

20% of AQP2 Previews two days out (960k)

81% of Space Jam Friday five days out (10.6M)

105% of Cruella Previews two days out (1.5M)

155% of Snake Eyes Previews four days out (2.2M)

The Cruella and Space Jam comparisons are really encouraging, less so the action titles and AQP.

The Green Knight: 17/67

This is already outpacing Zola the day-of by a pretty significant margin.

Stillwater: 3/107

Those Who Wish Me Dead will probably be the best comparison for this in a few days.

Hopefully 2.5M for JC. That shall lead it to $30M I suppose. How is MTC 2 @Menor on FRI?

Jungle Cruise MTC2

Thursday:

Showtimes: 1447

Tickets Sold: 4988/231797

Friday:

Showtimes: 3020

Tickets Sold: 7421/510823

Don't have great comps, but idk about 2.5 million previews from this. 30 million seems pretty optimistic.

Btw just as a disclaimer this is including damaged/not-for-sale seats. Since that will affect every film it should be fine and once numbers are higher (like the day before and same day) it won't make a huge difference proportionally, and that is where the comps really matter anyway.

Jumanji 2 was 6.4K in MTC 2 on 2.7k shows at same time and finaled at 67K. Now don't know if this had DBOX problem because MTC 2 numbers by Keyser were usually higher than actual numbers, so I think its quite fine. Will look at Cruella numbers by Keyser.

If there's anything to say at this point, this was a good day for the movie all things considered. Snake Eyes at this point in time, for a comparison, pretty much had nonexistent sales a week before release. If we continue seeing this kind of movement, it should lead to all my comps getting above 2M, which should at least ensure 20M...maybe. Who knows how Delta or D+ or whatever will impact it?

Well I mean this was one of the film's better days, but I'm no longer holding my breath. At this point, anything could happen and it's hard to really feel hopeful about this stuff these days. I know I sound really moody tonight, but that just comes from a real bad movie market IMO

Had to count a little early. No Cruella comp anyways, but JC is falling behind based on the 2 day pace of Cruella.

This is Pre CoVID comp but

Jumanji 2 was 6.4K in MTC 2 on 2.7k shows at same time and finaled at 67K. Now don't know if this had DBOX problem because MTC 2 numbers by Keyser were usually higher than actual numbers, so I think its quite fine. Will look at Cruella numbers by Keyser.

The situations, besides Covid, are too different IMO. Jumanji 2 had Frozen 2 and TRoS presales ongoing during its presale run. And being a fun family adventure movie, it isn't a movie that really generates crazy presales. But the extremely high goodwill from the first movie generated crazy walkups. Jungle Cruise doesn't have any goodwill going for it for previews. Even if reviews are stellar, the audience reaction is really what matters.

Jumanji 2 Previews (T-1)

MTC1  - overall 2080 shows 28139/406711 465722.60 +6299
MTC2  - overall 3000 shows 17312/465849 211092.00  +4946

Better day than yesterday(Duh!) but not good enough of a acceleration. Now its all down to final day sales.

Also Day 1 and 2 numbers(just MTC1)

MTC1 OD - overall 4152 shows 29904/810197 480502.63
MTC1 D2 - overall 4350 shows 33212/843696 452936.56

I had posted D1 earlier. But at least both the numbers are ahead of previews and so it will be backloaded.

MTC1 went from 28139 -> 71262. 2.53x

MTC2 went from 17312 -> 66631. 3.85x

I would not expect Jungle Cruise to have those kind of walkups. Especially in MTC 2.
