0.392x of Cruella's Thu+Fri T-1 (3.02M)

Yeah I'm really not sure why Philly is just dead while everybody else is having solid sales. I don't see any real reason why this of all movies would underperform, but I'm sure it's probably doing much better on Friday and Saturday and such. And maybe it's comparing Thursday to Thu+Fri making things muddy, which should clear out tomorrow since I'll actually have solo numbers for Place and Cruella.

1.031x of Boss Baby 2 (1.35M)

1.209x of Snake Eyes (1.69M)

It's a bit all over the place, but it does lean into the high 1s that has been tracking Philly. It is a bit too low compared to other people's tracking though, and Cruella also arguably had the same problem. Maybe it's a sign we're getting 2.7M...nah I'm just kidding. But I do think low 2s are likely despite the discrepancy.

Just threw some comps in for the heck of it. Kinda interesting how close the Cruella and Black Widow comps are, and how AQP2 is slightly higher. Maybe an example of Premier Access hurting late walkups? Of course BW is more fan driven anyways, so maybe not. I like the Cruella comp, so I'll just go with that. 2.15M

Got some numbers around 5:30 and have access to my laptop again:

Jungle Cruise:

6:00 Dolby: 32/236

6:30 IMAX: 8/372

7:00: 22/107

7:30 3D: 7/77

9:30 Dolby: 18/236

Total: 87/1,028

Comps:

14% of Black Widow Previews (1.8M)

32% of F9 Previews (2.2M)

42% of AQP2 Previews (2M)

174% of Snake Eyes (2.4M)

272% of Cruella Previews (3.8M)

621% of Boss Baby 2 Previews (8.1M)

I think previews can be 2.2M+ based on these comps. 2.4M sounds about right; maybe it goes over 30M this weekend, which would be very nice!

The Green Knight:

7:00: 43/67

8:45: 16/40

9:30: 3/40

Total: 62/147

Comps:

10% of Black Widow Previews (1.3M)

30% of AQP2 Previews (1.4M)

84% of Old Previews (1.3M)

124% of Snake Eyes Previews (1.7M)

563% of Zola Previews (2.8M OD)

This is strong and reminds me of how Midsommar was performing here two years ago. If there's over 2k theaters, I can see 10M happening.

Stillwater: 5/107

Horrible for Stillwater; it's doing on par or worse than Those Who Wish Me Dead. Good luck getting over 2-2.5M.

Jungle Cruise Megaplex Thursday

1696/15853 in 14 theaters.

Black Widow comp: 2.70M

Performing really well here, which isn't much of a surprise considering it's a family movie and Utah. I am surprised at the Black Widow comp though.

JC is at 28689 in MTC2 as of about 30 min ago. No change in my projection earlier, which was 2.27 million. Will do another couple of runs to see how night walkups go. BW had pretty poor night walkups, which indicates that PA may hurt it, but this is a very different type of film so I'm optimistic. Not gonna bother with Green Knight as that is clearly underperforming big time at MTC2 from yesterday's numbers.

I’m going to be at work until late tonight, so unfortunately I won’t be able to do any fancy formatting for my update here than if I had my laptop. But here are how things seem to be shaking out here:

Stillwater - picking up but still slow. I’d be shocked if they even reported previews, but somewhere around 300-400k seems possible.

Jungle Cruise - pretty much in line with what everyone else is saying. 2.1-2.3M previews.

Green Knight - my theater is selling this one like crazy, but looking everywhere else it’s a bit more down to Earth. Still, 1.7M previews wouldn’t surprise me, maybe a bit higher.

I’ll try updating again in an hour or two.

33691 in the latest run. That's very good evening walkups. Probably looking at a 42k+ finish at MTC2, which in a straight comp with F9 would give 2.46 million+.

Cine 1 4 1,708 186 10.89% $2,976 $16.00

Total 24 6,977 426 6.11% $6,001 $14.08

Well decent increase and probably 3x PSm to $18K in Harkins California as compared to $73K of BW on 62 shows. Purely that would be $3.2M but smaller films may have bigger ratio in popular locs. However reopening of Ontario shall cancel some of that.

At 6PM $13.1K on 26 shows at 13% occupancy. The 6PM shows had 23% occupancy, so overall shall reach 20%+ I suppose. That will be taking it to $20K plus as against my $18K target. Let's hope.

This is quite solid especially with F9 comp as that did really well in MTC2. Now with Ontario open, I am hoping it go around $2.75M+. My Harkins comp is looking really good.

To be fair, I think JC is also overindexing in MTC2. Family films tend to be very strong in MTC2.

36759 in the latest run. No change in prediction. I may update one more time tonight but I don't think there's much uncertainty about where this is finishing in ticket sales at this point. Just depends on if the MTC2 overperformance of F9 cancels out with the (likely) MTC2 overperformance of JC.

@charlie Jatinder Fri and Sat are running, but since I am finalizing showtimes first it may not be finished before I sleep. So I will update tomorrow morning if it doesn't.

I saw the 6pm Cinemark XD of Jungle Cruise. About 20 or so people. Oddly only 1 child, rest were either young or old couples. Wasn't a huge fan but it'll have solid wom. It's a Dwayne Johnson Disney adventure, people will get what they want. Felt like National Treasure a bit. Lots of laughs from audience, tons of action with quick fast cutting editing, tons of riffing and banter. So much CGI.

TRAILERS: Ghostbusters, Dune (??), Eternals, Shang-Chi, Clifford, Paw Patrol, Encanto

I'll check my theater showtimes for tomorrow later. Would not be surprised if it comes in higher or beats tracking

Yeah there was a good review bump here. How effective this was is up to you of course, but it certainly gave the film a solid shot in the arm here in Philly.
