Honestly if Candyman overperforms it will have been a really exciting August. TSS was exciting (in its way), Free Guy was exciting, Paw Patrol looks exciting, SC sales are exciting. Better than several pre-pandemic Augusts at least.

I haven't been paying much attention to Paw Patrol lol. Movies like that usually run the risk of "why leave your house and pay $12 when you can get it at home for free?" syndrome but the market has been starving for a kids movie (at least one aimed directly at that crowd) for a while so it has a better shot at overperforming than most.

MTC1 looks like doing 25% of Day 1 which is still very good. Yesterday's pace was excellent. It will slow down quite quickly until final week surge. MTC2 sold 2927 tickets in 26 hours from yesterday evening.Ratio between 2 MTC is still too skewed(like SS was).  

 

FYI Paw Patrol is up to overall 1978 shows 12666/291667 135790.18 as of this afternoon. Weak increase. Tomorrow evening I am shutting down my computer and so I wont be able to track the movie. Thursday I am moving and so dont know when I can get my computer back online. So expecting no more updates for the movie. I am not expecting more than 50K for Paw Patrol which translates to 4m friday even if MTC2 over performs.

Another solid day.  Two of the outstanding theaters put up previews; still waiting on one last one.  A total of three post 10:30pm showings were removed at a couple of theaters, probably due to staffing concerns that others have mentioned in passing.

 

Gained slightly on a 50% comp, but then it would need to.

I suppose the sales starting a bit late deflated yesterday sales in the chain, looking better now but not as strong as Black Widow which I think whole west coast isn't for some reason. It won't be reaching 50% of BW first 3 days, unless has another solid day.

 

I for other films tracked CA alone, its doing ok in CA. BW was 766 in first 3 days, this may reach 390-400, is currently 316.

In tracking REGAL is a big variable we leave to chance. I was wondering that all the individual trackers must be tracking quite a many REGALs, so if we could somehow use that sample to estimate the chain.
