I'll post my theaters for Candyman tonight. It's selling strong at the Dolby but pretty flat everywhere else. No real pickup yet.

 

That said, I do expect more walkups.

Candyman counted today at 10am EST for Thursday, August 26:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 71 (5 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 34 (2 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 12 (3 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 5 (1 showtime)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 8 (1 showtime)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 79 (3 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 162 (5 showtimes)
 

Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 371.

Comps (all counted on Wednesday for Thursday, always the same 7 theaters): The Forever Purge (1.33M previews/12.6M OW) had 168 sold tickets,
AQP (4.8M previews starting at 5pm/47.5M OW) II had 1.209
and Crawl (1M previews) had 195.
Spiral (could not find its previews number/8.8M OW) had in 4 theaters 265 sold tickets (so here vs 320).
 

Candyman counted today at 10am EST for Friday, August 27:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 131 (10 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 47 (8 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 13 (9 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 2 (2 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 18 (6 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 69 (6 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 167 (10 showtimes)
 

Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 447.
Another very good jump of 62% since yesterday.

Comps (all counted on Wednesday for Friday, always the same 7 theaters): Old (16.9M OW) had in the same 7 theaters 262 sold tickets (but a very good jump till tomorrow),
The Conjuring 3 (24.1M OW) had 1.074
and Crawl (12.0M OW) had 170 sold tickets.
Spiral (8.8M OW) had in 4 theaters 321 sold tickets (so here vs 385).
Overall it looks better every day. The only thing that prevents me from exaggerating (again) is the Spiral comp where I also saw a 20M weekend coming back then. But that was in times of reduced capacity and Candyman also improved in that comp (yesterday it was 5 tickets behind and now it's 64 tickets in front).

I am predicting gross over predictions for another Spider-man movie. I remember some of the predictions for Far from home which released couple of months after Endgame. It did not even open to 40m OD. !!!!

Okay with some surprise seeing that Cineplex is selling advance tickets now for Shang Chi. That's good news. Ive got stuff going today and tomorrow but hopefully Friday I can start tracking for Toronto

you forget that it had a 6 day opening ...it opened on tuesday(and made 39 mill) not friday and even then its friday was 32

Don't know if this works better for those who like to see individual theatre counts but there  you go.

Im really hesitant to start posting friday advance sales until the week of because the theatres decide to dump a TON of new screens in when Im not looking. I mean I can do fridays now if you want, if it helps matters.

Still not that impressed with Friday sales. Good thing is it's easier to improve that with walkups relative to Thursday.

Awesome. Thursday sales are super strong. 95% of BW's sales for the day. If it holds same pace what would be the projected previews from megaplex perspective. 

 

Friday should pick up soon.

That is the amount of seats available added. Sales pace is around 63% of BW at Megaplex (which matches more with other data we have).

Yeah I was hoping yesterday marked the end of stagnation for Friday. Hopefully it'll really pick up soon because Black Widow only had one day below 230 from here on out.

Just in case you’re still wondering about the pace, 63% of BW for the rest of the run would end up at 7.42M.
