Yes Canada is over-performing but with all its overperformance, it will be just matter of $200K more previews than what normal has been recently.

So $10.2m for previews then 😉

Hey hey hey, the Meltdown bar is clearly 68,033,544/72,017,777.

I have been bested by the facts. 72,017,777 it is.

Spoiler

My personal bar for a meltdown will remain 80,366,312 though

FWIW the recent run at MTC2 did look much weaker than I was hoping for today, so I have adjusted back down… to 9-10

Which one? The last I took was in line with expectations. Generally Wednesday night is when the surge occurs. So I'm waiting for Keyser's end-of-day post to get a true sense of the day.

9-01 3:15

But like I told Jat I don’t really have a sense of the hourly trends (how much of a non-final-day weekday’s sales is concentrated between, say, 16:00 and 20:00) so I was keeping an open mind until we got keyser 24. Glad to hear that it looked normal to you, fwiw I was targeting a 26% increase in gross today. Not sure if it looks on track for that or if you simply had lower expectations.

From that run and some partial data I had later I'm conservatively expecting 62k in tickets when Keyser posts. ATP will drop a bit so it will probably fall slightly short of your target. But not too far even if it only does 62k (ftr this would require a somewhat lower night bump than BW).

There's another showing marked as a sellout, but last I checked the showing only sold 3 tickets beforehand, so it might be a glitch, though we'll see what happens tomorrow. The other two sellouts sold substantially more, so they seem legit. Overall a pretty decent day, though I feel like Ida diminished sales quite a bit, because here in my area and adjacent ones, shit is rough. I'm honestly amazed I was able to get home from work in that storm.

BOOOOOOOYS.

Aka. I’m really living my best life right now watching Tony Leung movies in preparations for tomorrow. I don’t have time for talk about meltdowns.

I think it’s important to keep in mind that the record, even without a pandemic, for Labor Day is $30 million. Anything over 50, regardless of how this is tracking or not should be a victory. Yes, if you want to be personally upset cool. But we haven’t even released the movie yet. Can we not use the M Word until we at least open the weekend thread.

Okay time to go back to this sexy, sexy man.

I think the whole Labor Day record thingy is BS when nothing good released on the weekend for years.

FWIW I think considering September weekends will be better measure if we are simply talking about records.

IT2 opened $90M plus in 2nd Sep weekend which I don't know is how any better than Labor Day weekend.

It's for sure surpassing my targets for 9 (I think even 165k and 115k might suffice for that given the huge ATP diff + Canada). 10 seems tough unless it really explodes tomorrow but fingers crossed.  Ehh maybe,  since this is theatrical exclusive it should have a significantly better trend than BW tomorrow. Have to wait and see.

Yeah think walkups should be stronger but will likely have more of an impact on FSSM.

Yeah as always the last day is make or break in the end 😛

I’m getting around 9.4 if the final day multiplier is 2:1 weighted combination of BW and TSS, or 9.3 if it’s 3:1 weighted. I don’t think it will go below that though of course no guarantees.
