Dear Evan Hansen Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-3 and Counting

0.151x of In the Heights' Thu+Fri Wednesday Sales (757K)

So yeah, when it comes to Heights, the only data I generated for the movie that is publicly documented, the 5M made when combining Thu+Fri, was on the Wednesday before release. But might as well put it here anyway before people pester me about this. Honestly sales aren't that bad here, but I'll admit I don't have the best comps in the world. Everybody else have worse results, so I'm inclined to believe them for the time being.

Slight improvement in Shang Chi X days of sales comp, but still not enough. Need a good bump. I will probably do next check in 7 days as its selling very slow.

As I commented up thread, I found out that once again Cinemark is making its Early Access shows exclusive to its corporate site. This caused both the F9 and AQP II comps to jump up by about 1m or so.

Went ahead and checked every last corp site (+Atom) just to make sure there aren't any other EA showings hiding out there.  Mercifully, there aren't any others.  But waay too many seats sold to add it to today's total without some sort of note.

Since there was 80+ tickets added to the total, I'll re-run the CBM comps, this time for Day 3:

BW:    31.84% [4.40m] (adj)

TSS: 189.58% [7.96m]

SC:    58.04% [5.11m]

V2:    96.84% [???]

Better, but still not worth it for now, with the possible exception of Venom 2.  But since don't have a comp for that yet, it'll just have to wait 'till it comes in.

Pretty sure Sony won't be happy with Venom 2 doing about half of original Venom. If Shang Chi, F9 and Black Widow can all pull 70M+ OW then this movie that is being billed as something that is supposed to expand the universe and has a fan favorite villain, surely should be more hyped and at least crack 60M.

Agreed. a sub 60m opening would be disappointing.

I avoided Respect because of the Fandango screenings out sold the preview shows in my areas 393 to 243 and, as far as I could tell, those numbers weren't reported separately.   My Jungle Cruise comp would put it at 948k, which is probably more realistic than my ITH comp of 420k.  Cruella was just before I started tracking unfortunately.

Evan Hansen comp from In the Heights keeps dropping, now to 420k.  While it seems that this probably isn't a realistic comp, I don't really have anything better.  It's also possible that ITH sales were inflated by unavailable seats; this was before I was using the page source to determine reserved seats vs unavailable, though its sales growth looks organic.

Well, I was looking through showtimes for DEH and noticed that there's a second listing on Fandango for the Q&A that I hadn't previously seen.  Not sure if that had been mentioned here, but it definitely has been affecting the preview sales.  This should inflate the preview number and possibly drag down the multiplier a bit with it only being available on Thursday.

Dear Evan Hansen:

7:00 Dolby: 22/236 (+2)

8:00: 7/107 (+2)

Total: 29/343 (+4)

Comps:

33% of Jungle Cruise the day of (890k)

44% of ITH Friday three days out (1.6M assuming it was 3.7M)

126% of ITH Thursday the day of (1.6M assuming it was 1.3M)

I'd say it's pretty much on pace with ITH for Thursday at least. 1M previews should be locked at the very least.

Venom 2:

4:00 Dolby: 6/236 (-)

4:30 3D: 0/67 (-)

5:00: 1/107 (+1)

6:00 IMAX: 0/372 (-)

6:30 Dolby: 21/236 (+3)

7:00 3D: 5/67 (+5)

7:30: 2/107 (-)

8:30 IMAX: 4/372 (+3)

9:00 Dolby: 15/236 (+2)

Total: 52/1,800 (+14)

Comps:

15% of Black Widow the day before (2M)

33% of Shang-Chi six days out (2.9M)

40% of F9 three days out (2.8M)

71% of AQP2 two days out (3.4M)

91% of The Suicide Squad five days out (3.7M)

Definitely a good increase over the past few days. It should surpass TSS in a day or two, and it's gained significant ground against AQP as well. 7-8M is my current guess.

No Time to Die:

Early Access IMAX: 10/372

4:00 IMAX: 1/372 (-)

5:00 Dolby: 13/236 (+7)

7:00: 2/107 (-)

9:00 Dolby: 21/236 (+1)

Total: 43/1,323 (+12) (53/1,695 with Early Access)

This has sold one more ticket than Venom when Early Access is included :Venom:

So yeah, when it comes to Heights, the only data I generated for the movie that is publicly documented, the 5M made when combining Thu+Fri, was on the Wednesday before release. But might as well put it here anyway before people pester me about this. Honestly sales aren't that bad here, but I'll admit I don't have the best comps in the world. Everybody else have worse results, so I'm inclined to believe them for the time being.
