It certainly is a bummer when I see AMC and others get advance tickets and the excitement on here, and we here in Canada are like "I guess its waiting till a week or 2 before opening before we can do anything" lol.

To my less-trained eye reading this thread, the Dune sales seem kinda inconsistent? Like doing well some places and not others, whereas normally (even for other HBO Max releases) I recall it being more consistent across the board. Is it just because now there's more stuff in theaters so there's more competition over who gets how many screenings?

Tomorrow and overmorrow is again Bond-time but today I counted Halloween Kills and Dune.
I only looked at the Friday of NTTD in the AMC in NY where it jumped nice 20% since yesterday (from 203 to 245 sold tickets).

Halloween Kills counted today at 11am EST for Thursday, October 14:

So it came a bit down to earth but OTOH, 2.5k sold tickets (Thu + Fri) in 1 day is just very good. Its Friday sales are narrowly behind those of NTTD yesterday.
Also not too preview-heavy in my theaters.

I think part of what we are seeing with Bond is what @TwoMisfits has hounded on regarding age skew. Couple that with the length and the fact that in sheer ticket sales, you can have more opportunities with Venom and it all just eats into the final growth. 

That stupid 100m article will probably cause some questions on Monday when Bond is over/under Spectre and nowhere close to 100m. 

Sheer tickets sales and screens availability with the length of show time will stunt the final numbers. 

Hoping to be wrong, not that the 65-75m window is not a bad thing mind you.

I think Halloween's sales right now are indicating 40M needs a big sale surge next week and/or good WOM+backloading into Sat/Sun. 2018 dropped 18% from the full Friday but increased 7% from the true Friday. That might not be the case this time around since sellouts will be less common. 3.5M previews would translate into this if it follows 2018:

 

15.1M Friday (4.3x previews)

12.4M Saturday (-18%)

7.1M Sunday (-41%)

34.6M Weekend

 

I'd anticipate it looking more like:

 

14M Friday (4x previews)

10.9M Saturday (-22%)

6.4M Sunday (-41%)

31.3M Weekend

 

Peacock and less PLFs are going to be a factor as well, though not as much as an HBO Max release.

Dammit @EmpireCity beat me to the punch on Eternals presale launch date. Found out about it last night, didn’t post anything lol.

 

 

Also Dune tickets are now on sale in Canada. Honestly, Canada might be a good (but not perfect) indicator of how it would have done without the Max release. Because BAH GAWD these numbers are insane

 

On par, if not slightly ahead of where Shang Chi was at this point.

Ill have to start looking at Dune, havent gandered at them yet will take a look to see how Toronto is doing. First glance theres a number already taking advance sales. Ill get some thursday numbers tonight.,

Ontario is performing very strong for bond overall. Obviously it’s ahead of any other province just due to its population. But as far as per capita, and sellouts go, BC is actually Bond’s strongest market in Canada.
