CJ o CJ, this stop being funny a month ago. rest it.

Bond is literally tanking as we speak and Venom is now running behind the first movie's total. If anyone believes theaters will ever be back they have to be trolling.

I think it depends what your definition of "being back" is.  In my opinion, Venom 2 is about where I would have expected it to be normally.  Bond might be a little low, but that can be attributed to the older audience still being cautious/long delay from previous movie.  I'm very happy with the recovery so far. Once the same day streaming ends for the bigger movies, we should be in a really good place.

5.1k sold in last 3 days. Not bad actually. Around 60% pace of SC. We don't have direct comp with NTTD, but that added 4k in 2 days from T-12 to T-10 days (just THU alone I suppose), so slightly lower pace I suppose.

MTC 2 is lower than NTTD though.

Won't go $3M I guess but $4-5M range more likely.

One can never say where it will end up but 4m means sub 80K finish. That seems improbable to me but who knows who the final days will be. I am expecting another Tmobile atom deal to boost its PS during its release week.

Only the Fast 9 comp today. So, the Cinemark website has a banner at the top when a "movie is hot". It shows when at least 100 people have looked at showtimes for the theater in a given day. The theater it popped up at only added 2 tickets for previews, so I took a look at Friday and Saturday showings, and they're looking good. Did the same for some other theaters, and showings are also looking good for those days. The same thing happened at Megaplex yesterday with weak additions to Thursday, but strong ones for Friday and Saturday. All this to say, presales may be spread out to a bigger degree than at least I expected.

Theater business is booming lmao. It is still dropping 50%. It won't reach 40M with 5M previews.

The last film did 10 x it’s preview number. However, Halloween Kills will be available at home and illegally unfortunately.

so what are we thinking for halloween kills ow ? 40-45 ?

Hard to tell with the Peacock factor but I’d think closer to $30-35M. H2018 made $7.7M in previews and KILLS seems to be pacing somewhere around half of that based on the comps in this thread?

Peacock will have no impact on this OW at all. Maybe if it was HBO MAX but I’m not even factoring in Peacock

Peacock still doesn’t offer 4K HDR thus making the film unwatchable on their platform.

I wish I could contribute more regularly these days, I can get some in but days are busy so I really can't get in every day. For me its become an interesting hobby of sorts, and everyone here is encouraging so it makes for a great experience to post. And thank you for your contributions as well! :)
