Yeah, I gots nothing.

One thing that is hurting Eternals compared to Black Widow, aside from the obvious, is the wide disparity in showtimes.  At this point in time BW had about 76% more showtimes than Eternals does. So folks who might be wavering just aren't going for less-than-ideal seats or grabbing good seats at less-than-ideal times.  That's the barest of fig leafs, though.

Don't ask me where it's gonna end up, but for now... As I said "I gots nothing."

Eternals

Toronto Ontario

Taken Oct 31 for Thurs Nov 4

Number of Theatres 11

Total Shows 49

Total Sold 2550

Total Remaining Available 10052

Total Amount (sold plus remaining) 12602

Percentage 20.23 (amount is Total sold divided by Total Amount)

Now with less than a week sales easing up it seems. Don't know if critic reviews had an effect or not, but with Halloween weekend perhaps people busy, will see if it picks up between now and Thurs

Thanks. Good chance it'll be at my Cinemark. It's at the AMC but that's not as close

Anyway, the sales are.... you know? But expected? The nature of the subject could induce strong walkups though

AMC:

Thursday (8)

5m open-caption (4), 8pm (4)

Friday (8)

2pm open caption (2), 5 (0), 8 (6)

Just an anecdote but Eternals sales at my local theatre--which is very PLF-focused with an IMAX and Dolby--have cratered over the past week. I have a good buddy who works there who told me they're not going "all hands on deck" for staffing that weekend, despite doing so for Shang-Chi, Venom, and Bond (which they expected a much bigger performance from). There are still plenty of seats left for the 6pm IMAX Thursday preview, which wasn't the case for any of the other films at this point.

It sold so well at the start and even with a big slowdown its still well in front of all movies in presales expect BW. The problem is if this is an indication of walkups this far out then it just wont have the growth across the weekend like SC/Venom did to keep pace with them in any fashion. Ticket prices are up and Canada is open compared to how things were for BW. I was thinking 80 to 90 2 weeks ago and then 70 to 80 1 week ago and now concerned it wont even get to 70.

That's in line with what most of us are seeing. It's hard to tell how much the early PLF sales are inflating comparisons.

Yeah i hope things start to get better.

I think MCU usually bumps is because reviews make people hyped and generate some earlier rush.

This time reviews did nothing so i understand why it wasn't moving, but i was starting to worry that maybe people really lost interest.

Hopefully this week jumps will compensate, this really needs to succeed since it's the only big movie before NWH.
