The bleeding stopped, but the patient is still in the ER is the best way to put this, I think.  Eternals saw a much better Sat->Sun jump (+93%) than either SC (+43%) or BW (+22%) locally.  Problem was, it was in a such major hole on both Fri and Sat that the jump was only good enough to more or less stabilize the BW comp and stop its drop.

Still, a turnaround from the frankly abysmal last couple of days.

whatever happened in last 7-15 days doesn't matter. All important period starts today.

Monday was super strong for both BW and SC. I did not update Monday night but tuesday morning it added roughly 15K from Sunday. SC added around 11K that day. Eternals needs bigger boost than yesterday at MTC1 to be in the same ballpark. I will not say impossible but its tough. But I agree this is it. What happens from today makes bigger impact that what we saw over previous week or so.

I don't have any good comps for Spencer; not sure what the gender demographic will be.  Previews starting at 5pm is an interesting choice too.  Adult dramas haven't fared very well this year so my expectations are pretty low already.  Low theater count so I'll put my prediction around 2m for the weekend.

So, for early sets, my Cinemarks are giving 2 (7 showings) and 2.5 screens (10 showings) to Ghostbusters, so there is some belief this will not completely crash and burn like all the other possible family drawing movies in 2020-2021 (I can't remember the last one to start with more than 1 screen in presales)...

Clifford has early access screenings Tuesday the 9th. 0 tickets sold between 3 showtimes at Cinemark

Cinemark inexplicably has 7 Thursday showings for Ghostbusters beginning at at 4 in XD. So far only 2 tickets sold all day (715 XD).

AMC's Thursday for Ghostbusters: (87)

4pm DOLBY (6), 715 DOLBY (63)

5pm IMAX (3), 8pm IMAX (15)

745 (0)

Not bad, I guess. This won't have any sort of review bump since reviews are already out. Not sure how it can maintain or pickup pace.

I have been confused about the Clifford listing.  It's got a Wednesday (11/10) release date so I would have thought Tuesday would have been previews, but it appears there are shows all day that day so maybe not?  It did have some shows this past Saturday (10/30) as well.

10/30 Saturday shows were $0 revenue...they were "loyalty" screenings, aka free advance screenings for WOM...

The movie is also doing a "cheap Tuesday" promo on 11/9 to try to get folks in early before the holiday weekend, trying to gin up more WOM...so far, those are actually priced as advertised at cheap Tuesday prices at all the places I've looked at...
