Can anyone else confirm this? This is so weird. I manually checked quite a few MTC2 theaters that used to have WSS showings for Thursday, and they have just vanished.

I still have them at all locals on Thur.

EDIT:::

@Menor

They're available on Fandango (and I was able to get to the seat selection screen) but NOT the corp site for MTC2 for whatever reason.

No, I have no idea what's going on.  Temporary blip?

So...I'm not sure what's going on, but West Side Story advance tickets for previews don't appear to be available on MTC2 website anymore.

Friday is still there thankfully. So will update that and Saturday today.

My Cinemarks dumped their Thursday nights as well, and it does seem chain-wide...

Edit to add: I only looked directly from the Cinemark site at my localities, figuring they had the most up-to-date info...and looking at their showings, they have replaced them b/c all 12 screens are booked...but I don't know with what b/c I hadn't paid much attention to this upcoming weekend...

I am not sure if @Cap is tracking empire/lincoln. But data I see so far is

Empire 25 - 5392/7428 109210.28 31 shows

Lincoln Sq - 4474/5396 98250.86 17 shows

Crazy strong but limited potential for growth as all prime time shows are almost sold out.

Now 4900 * 580 = 2.84M seats sold in AMC.

See. I am a genius.

Add in those numbers and we're at 46 show times and 2510 tickets sold. Will do my next update on Thursday, December 9th.

They're still up over at Atom as well.

Am guessing it's just some error in the website (but then with what Misfits said it might be that Fandango/Atom are the ones that are slow to update). Makes the track annoying, but Friday was always going to be more determinative here than Thurs.

I will say, though, if it's a glitch, I can easily see "room" for certain movies to not have extra showings to put WSS back on Thursday...but what an odd thing 3 nights before release...you'd think they'd want sellable previews for the biggest push of presales if they are gonna have previews, so someone should be fixing this asap (aka, the glitch should have been fixed in under 10 minutes, unless it's not a glitch:)...

I checked the four in my tracking - all have been removed from the corporate site but none of the auditoriums have been filled in the time slots.  There are/were a combined 8 tickets sold between the four theaters.  As others have said, still available on other sites and still showing up in my showtime sample.

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but things seem super soft as we near the homestretch. And while I always appreciate Menor's numbers, I don't think Free Guy is a good comp to use for this film. Maybe things will change as we get closer, but I don't have huge hopes.

So I forgot to add in the two previous sellouts that emerged a couple days ago. But hey, this takes a long time to do, so cut me some slack.

And yeah, for whatever reason three sellouts, all at the same theater, happened today. That's kinda weird.

I agree. Unfortunately I didn't bother with Dear Evan Hansen so I can't use it.

ITH was on max and had that weird last minute "full Thursday OD -- no wait it's flopping jk those were just previews" release. But still might be somewhat useful, forget if we did any MTC for that one.

TOTALS 0 55 621 9574 6.49%

2.642x of The Suicide Squad T-16 (10.83M)

1.161x of Dune T-16 (5.92M)

Over the past few days there's been this weird mindset that Matrix 4 is set to bomb big time and only do like 10-20M on its OW. But honestly, while it's not a crazy first day of sales, if you take out the Dune number, which had an insane fan/PLF rush, these numbers seem pretty solid. I know that this is being hurt by Spidey and that it would have done way better in 2022 (telling ya, this would have been a slam dunk on Labor Day weekend if Warner didn't already pay for Keanu's backend deal), but I think these are pretty good results, barring a potential fan rush that doesn't pick up once we head towards release. That idea isn't impossible, but I think we're good for right now.

Finally, we're starting to see some non-Early Access acceleration here. And I think I'll finally add in some comps in the next few days, albeit with some modifications that will ignore the already established Early Access numbers.

There's probably no good comps for WSS since all the previous December musicals opened either closer to or on Christmas Day and the other major musicals this year had asterisks next to them (Evan Hansen obviously flatlined due to bad buzz/reviews). FWIW it's selling rather well in the PLF/IMAX formats near me.
