But double antman

AM&TW skewed younger as a family movie so like JW2 it was less pre-sale and more walk up friendly than the other comparisons listed.

Looking at the Wed to O/W ratio it was even more walk up heavy than The Grinch

11,108 (Wed) - $75.8m (ow)

10,092 (Wed) - $67.5m (ow)

Anything under $10m in previews would disapoint me (and shock me) at this point. (Tuesday & Thursday)

Which bodes well for a 70 odd ow. I think the preview to ow multi will be 6.5x+. 10.5-11 previews give 68-72 ow with 6.5x. FB1 multi was 8.4x.

I am a bit cautious for one reason:

I remember very well that the first one posted strong presales and many had upgraded their predictions to 90m or even 100m. So yeah.. the presales/gross ratio of the first one was frontloaded despite the weekend and whole run being back-loaded.

48,287 over 4-days for Venom compared to 45,055 for FB2.

Venom had 10m previews eventually.

Venom reached 80M, so it bodes well for FB2. I am surprised with some pesimists here.

Venom skewed younger so more walk up heavy and it didn't have Tues previews so even if it did a similar  $10m that would be spread over Tues & Thur leading to a lower total preview/ weekend multiple.

ASIB had bigger previews than BR at $4.55m but $1.35m (almost 30%) of that was on Wed with $3.2m on Friday vs  $3.9m for BR on Thur - hence a $42.9m opening v $51m

Venom did 8x the previews. FB2 may not crack 7x as it's a sequel to a movie that did 8.4x the previews.

APOC and DOFP had previews of 8.2 and 8.1 respectively with OWs of 65.8 (8.0x) and 90.8 (11.2x). That is how much more front-loaded a sequel can get compared to it's predecessor.

Thinking 6.5-6.75x for FB2, so hope previews come in at 10.5 if not more.

Venom skewed younger than a HP movie?

HP universe movie always skews younger than a CBM, IMHO. Even more if the CBM is about a dark character, no matter how light the film is in the end.

I know the tone in FB2 is darker than first, but I doubt it's darker than DH1&2.

The first film already skewed old, a lot (mainly HP fans who are grown ups now) and this is actually wayyy darker  than DH1 & 2 talking only from some spoilers I've read.

Tues had 836 seats sold.  As of last night Thur has 2941.

That's 28.47% not including sales for today and I gather any late night walk ups for Tues.   But let's say 836 was the total and Thur adds say another 600 seats tonight - that would be about 23.6%.

Too bad we didn't get any Tues Preview #s for FB2
