I'm sure there aren't any comps really but is that pretty good for Vice?

Not sure, but it seems to be doing pretty well.

Previews for Vice have started and Dick isn't far from Spider-Man:

This is probably very anecdotal, but I've been reading about a lot of walkouts for Holmes and Watson.

WOM is spreading like a wildfire on this thing. Vice will more than likely be ahead of it this weekend even if it's behind today, and The Mule could overtake it too.

Down to a 20% audience rating on RT. It'll be interesting to see what the Cinemascore is on it.

Needless to say, guess not screening it for anyone did help maximize the opening day.

I know you said it had been selling well beforehand where you are. Have you personally been seeing walkouts and refunds?

I don’t pay attention to RT audience scores at all, especially considering a lot of those look like they were written by bots anyways.

Is there any particular reason as to why Holmes and Watson seems to be so disliked by audiences? Beeing bad hasnt stopped many other comedys from succeding in this time of the year.

Maybe Will Ferrell in a period setting with anachronistic humor isn't working for them.

I don't work at the theater so I have no idea  But yeah, it was selling extremely well both locally and in Tallahassee. It's still selling pretty decently tomorrow too.

Is there a reason why US tickets are already on sale? It doesn’t come out until March 15....

I don’t know anyone who makes plans with a specific time and date to go see a movie like 3 months out. I mean do theaters even have showtimes for stuff this far out? Just seems really odd to me.

It's unusual for a movie like US but advance tickets that far out have been a thing for awhile now with mega blockbusters.

I don’t remember the last mega blockbuster to have tickets go on sale 3 months in advance. I know none of the CBM this year did it (maybe Jurassic World did though? I don’t remember) and if I’m not mistaken Captain Marvel tickets aren’t on sale yet either. To me 3 months in advance isn’t normal. Usually mega blockbusters have advanced tickets 6ish weeks in advance. Maybe Star Wars does it? But there have only been 4 Star Wars films released in the last 3-4 years so not really normal at all.

Yeah, nevermind. I went back and had a look and realized that when tickets went on sale for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and stuff like that it was more like a month and a half or two.

Either way, you're right. For a movie like US, 3 months in advance is unprecedented. Universal must be projecting this to be a huge event!
