The M. Night Shyamalan-directed sequel to his 2000 title Unbreakable and 2016 film Spilt came on tracking today with a 4-day start that’s around $75M per industry sources. The pic opens on Jan. 18. We hear other tracking services have Glass‘ debut around $50M.

Total unaided awareness for Glass —that survey category where those being polled bring up the film’s title without being prompted– is higher than that of Blumhouse/Universal’s Get Out and Split. First Choice for Glass is higher than Conjuring 2, The Nun, Get Out and just under that of Logan. In total awareness, Glass is strong across the board with males and females.

Quick thoughts:

- It's surprising that Lion King is so low down the list. Guess we are being too bullish on its chances.

-Also strange that Frozen 2 is only #3 for animated movies. Then again, this doesn't have any trailers or marketing materials yet, so it's not too concerning.

-Emma Watson gets a mention for Little Women, but Chalabae doesn't? This poll's rigged, lemme tell ya

Everything above it is very fanboy-driven or extremely viral - as usual, they will skew any such polls. I mean, even if some of the predictions for it are crazy, I still don't see how TLK doesn't crush Glass and comfortably beat at least 3 of the top 5 (I'll let you decide which 3 :P

For me, the most interesting is the number of times Joker is mentioned - it is, of course, a comic book movie, but when you compare the amount and quality of its marketing so far with some of the other movies, not to mention the TYPE of movie it is... Let's just say I'm extremely curious what will happen with that movie, both quality and box office.

I know it's just a list, but TLK should really be much higher than that if it's gonna be this all time record challenging box office phenomenon most of this board is expecting. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Jumanji is the only 400+ grosser to have missed the top 5 on the poll ever since Fandango has been really relevant.

Karen Gillan is in the MCU?

Have you really been sleeping through all the MCU movies? You stuck around for the credit scenes, for God's sake! Did you not look at the scrolling names to pass the time until Sebastian Stan showed up?
