WEEKEND THREAD | 3-DAY ESTIMATES: Pirates - 62M ; Baywatch - 18M; Alien - 10.5M (71% drop) like. F8 crosses 1B OS.

Recommended Posts

So POTC went up by 0.4m on Sunday? Gitesh's last tweet has it at 62.6 vs 62.2

25% drop on Monday would give it 77 4-day.

160-170 Dom and 170-180 China for 330-350 Dom+China.

50-60 Japan will give it 380-410 Dom+China+Japan

Needs 290-320 OS-China-Japan for 700 WW.

why do i always see the phrase "am i the only one who..." used to express consensus opinions? almost never the opposite.

I have genuine "Am i the only one who..." in stock.

None of the characters are likable

The show glorifies suicide and rape

It feels overly preachy at times

I don't think likable characters should be a judging criteria. They were well made characters. I like clay pretty much, but overall my favorite arc was Justin's. He had it much worse than Hannah and the end of the season was horrible for him. As for the glorification of suicide and rape, I feel most people refuse to talk about those. The world nowadays is such a stupidly sensitive place.

Clay is nearly likable, but he's SO FUCKING STUPID. He asks everyone what's on the tapes about 100 damn times only to hear "LISTEN TO THE TAPES!!!!!!!" It's hard to sympathize with the show's protagonist when he's so fucking daft. So many of these characters are generic stereotypes.

Disney's giving GOTG2 a 40% Monday drop, which seems crazy. My guess drop will be closer to 20% for 6M Monday instead of 4.5M projection.

20.6M  3day

26.6M 4day

400M still alive!

That Monday drop for GV2 sticks out like a sore thumb. It's way worse than Ultron, Civil War, and IM2 which dropped 19%, 17%, and 21% respectively. Even TASM2 fell 19%

The drop calculation might be due to loss of drive in double features with Pirates.

I've been stalked by the Dunkirk trailer, but then again I'm the one who uploads the trailers if I work Thursday's so I knew it ahead of time.

Im totally okay with that though. The more I see that trailer the better.
