Didn't see the new Alien yet but based on trailers and reviews, it seems like they missed the point of what made people excited for Prometheus and interested in the Alien universe again.

Are you kidding?

That so many were disappointed with Prometheus is a major reason why Covenet is underperforming/

But I have noted you seem to live in your own little reality; a reality where the 2016 Ghostbusters was a major success, and everybody loved BvS.

I'd say it is THE major reason... tied w/the disappointment that Covenant itself provided to a lot of people, cause Covenant was always going down from Prometheus on OW, but it could've still had better legs than its predecessor if wom were great. It wasn't.

Though yes, Napoleon does live in his own reality, you got that right.

It's also underperforming because it's a bad movie

That would account for $36M OW but it wouldn't account for the 70%+ drop over a holiday weekend in which both major openers - Pirates, Baywatch - underperformed.

POTC5 goes up to 78.2 from 77.0...i hope it's a sign of good more decent things.

$55.5M global MON for #Pirates5 putting total at $326M led by 4day grosses of $92.3M in China & $78.2M in NorthAmerica.

If POTC5 went up, no way GOTG2 yielded lower actuals. It must've collected a DOM cume of at least 340M as of post time.

Monday hold is 3% better. Everything else is right on the money.

If most of POTC5's 1.2m gain came from Monday, it means it fell around 18% on Monday. AWE, DOFP, APOC all fell 24-26%.

ALICE2 also fell 18% on Monday but with much smaller numbers compared to POTC5.

Fan rush would probably account for some of that rush.

Monday up over $1 million. WOM seems good and the runtime is short enough to not be a turn-off for audiences. Have to see how well it can hold against Wonder Woman, Mummy, and Transformers over the next three weeks.

I mean, I know people expected more from this one but, all things considered, a 4-day just under $80M isn't bad especially if it does well OS. Does it still have a shot at $750M+ OS?
