The movie's got my ass in the seat opening week the moment I saw Wondy lassoing lightning. It's so utterly outrageously bonkers (and something the original movie would never have done because it was somewhat. . . .somewhat grounded) that it becomes awesome.

 

I like the post Justice League DCU. Aquaman, Shazam (to a much, much lesser degree but it still fits), this. The DC universe has bonkers superheroes, GO BONKERS. You can still do dark, serious Batman movies and darker, more violent Joker movies. My only hope is when they bring Superman back they drop the self-seriousness and just go wild with him and his villains - one of his is a goddamn Starfish for God's sake

They have been spoiling the movie for sometime so there is also less of urgency to see the trailer. The first photo that they dropped when they started shooting the movie has huge number of likes almost 400k. The poster did great too on social media.  There has been a consistent high interest in the movie so I am not worried.

I think origin trailers tend to do better because of the curiosity factor, BW has more views than RTOS for instance.

 

Watching a few reactions on YT and there does seem to be a lot of confusion on what the movie is about.

 

Unfortunately Patty is assuming a level of intelligence that doesn't seem to be there is a lot of these YouTubers, I mean Lord is practically explaining the plot in his infomercial and they still didn't get why ST was there.

Yeah, it also depends on the breakdown of the followers brandonMD is heavily Marvel for instance and BW won that one.

 

If it's a battle of the stans, Marvel would win every time because they are the Apple of movies ATM and people are going to buy it whatever.

For instance I’m really excited for Black Widow, but would vote Wonder Woman.

Some small details I noticed in the trailer.

 

When she's looking up at the aeroplane in the dark, she's probably seeing a flashback to when steve died.

 

Why is Steves watch on the mantelpiece moving of its own accord ?

 

There's a continuity error at the end, she drops the wings, then they're back on again in the very next shot.

That's not a continuity error, it's simply edited out of order for the trailer, to have that final impact shot with the crossed arms.

They should just make it an HBO Max exclusive. Same goes for that Trench movie.
