Wonder Woman 1984 | Dec 16 2020 OS | Dec 25 2020 US and on HBO MAX

Recommended Posts

She would be perfect for Superman but it’s okay. We’ll get a snarky, formulaic JJ Abrams version that everyone is gonna LOVE.

If this happened in present day and not 1984, at least continuity geek in me would have been better of. Don't think much would have changed in 2019 setting.

The Cold War does factor into this movie’s plot (Is that a spoiler?)

While I did enjoy the film, I don’t know how anybody thinks it’s better than the first.  The first Wonder Woman was the best comic book movie of its decade.  Almost impossible standards to reach.

Black Panther is the best according to metrics, it isn't either.

A Jenkins-directed Superman/WW team-up would blow my mind!

Would they run in slow-mo towards each other at some point so we can laugh at Superman too?

Lol, Grace Randolph is having breakdown on twitter.

This made me go to her twitter page.

You can tell she doesn't like the toxic fanboy nonsense but still encourages it so she can profit off it. She sucks.

Exactly.  She loves when Star Wars gets hated/shitted on yet cries when it’s DC. Hypocrite

Do we really need to talk about Grace Randolph? That never leads anywhere good. Like, ever.

She's fun to laugh at though. Besides, it's not like there are any box office numbers to talk about. 🤪

Fair point.

Keep it light though. I don’t want any name-calling or any sexism.

Dare I say that Randolph i sort of...right? Had they added more action it would help soften the blow. This film really is 2 hours of talking. I like it because it lets the characters breath but I can get the complain.

People have certain "requests" when it comes to comic book films and WW84 basically skips the main one.

Right after seeing 1st one, I thought “eh, that was okay origin story (tone was jarring for me as a minor World War 1 buff, but I liked that they at least gassed that village), but hopefully sequel can do something exciting with character in present day like TWS.”

Like a year later it was announced that the 2nd entry would be another prequel and Steve would return, and I was like ... “uh oh.”

If WW3 is set in the present and they don’t return Steve again as a crutch, good chance it will be my favorite of the trilogy.

Who feels that this would not have a backlash if it was only theaters? I think watching things at home makes it a lot more easier to shit on something because you don’t feel like you bought a ticket so its easier to find something not worthy of your approval. Next to also having not the whole theatre experience

Well, the reception has also been bad in countries where it was theatrical only, so...

It has some pros, but you also really feel the runtime more and lack of action.

The reception for Soul, released on the same day, also seems like a point against this theory.
