The best superhero movie years were the ones without a superhero movie released.

2004 had Spider-Man 2 and The Incredibles (Hellboy 1 I think too which I enjoy quite a bit more than the sequel)

It wins

2017 COULD become the best year for superhero films, regardless my feelings towards how I feel that Logan is a tad overrated, Lego Batman, Logan, GotG Vol. 2 and Wonder Woman are acclaimed by the critics and public. Let's see if Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok and Justice League can keep up.

So this is GOTG2's first sub-$1M day

But it's already sitting at $359M so yeah, hardly a problem

Down only -38% from last Thursday.  It's holds from last week have not been as strong as AoU for the past few days but pretty good considering the direct competition.  380 is a pretty safe bet but think it can still leg it to 390+.

Right now 2017 is here for me with CBMs:

Logan: One of the genre's best

GOTG: A very good entry into the genre

Lego Batman: Fine?

WW: MEH

Spider-man 2, The Incredible, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. One of my favorite years for blockbuster movies. I love the fucking shit out of all three.

Then you throw in arguably the greatest movie of all time and you for yourself a year

Stop this nonsense. Just as you are entitled to not like a movie he too is entitled to his opinion. Just because he did not like a movie that you did doesnt mean he is a hater. His or any other persons opinion about this or any other movie is no more or less valid than yours

I assume you're referring to 2004's Van Helsing, no?

Better 2001 - 1st LOTR, 1st Harry Potter (just those 2 make it an insane year), and then you get the revelation of Shrek and the magic of Monsters, Inc.  Best top 4 of the millenium:)...

Eh. Monster's Inc is easily the best movie of that bunch. And the others are good but I don't feel any kind of strong love for them

Doctor Poison from Wonder Woman's in it.

Spoiler

Ironically, she almost gets more to do in that movie than in Wonder Woman.

Oh boo hoo, I don't like a movie that you do! I (usually) only bring up my opinion when others talk about theirs, so it isn't like I'm badmouthing it 24/7.

Among the three CBMs so far, GOTG II is the weakest.

Surprisingly, all 4 of the comic book movies have gotten me in the feels this year. There were genuine heartfelt moments I wasn't expecting in each of them. I could see those 4 being amongst my top 15 films.
