WrathOfHan Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 This looks like the most boring comedy imaginable. Quote
SLAM! Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 It has the potential for its target audience to find some of the jokes funny, but beyond that, it's gonna struggle to persuade other filmgoers to see it. Unless I missed her, they didn't even have Shannon Purser in the trailer. Missed opportunity to advertise to the hardcore Stranger Things fans that would recognize her. 1 Quote

filmlover Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I wish McCarthy would stop collaborating with her husband on movies cause they haven't turned out well. Tammy was trash and The Boss was only intermittently funny. I'll see this but it doesn't look like it'll be a massive improvement from those efforts either. 2 Quote
Krissykins Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Yeh I absolutely love Melissa McCarthy but her previous films with her husband, Tammy and The Boss were awful. This has a better trailer than those two though. Quote
75Live Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 yeah another unfunny McCarthy movie. She is more miss than hit with me and this looks like another miss 1 Quote
Taylor Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 She really squandered a lot of goodwill by continuing to prop up her unfunny husband. Quote
StevenG Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Why is she still doing comedies with him? I am baffled. Their last two joints were reviled by critics and did progressively less money. She should go back to Feig. Even Ghostbusters got solid reviews (even if the box office was tepid for the kind of film it was and the expectations the studio had) Quote

What other reason could there be. 1 Quote
Avatree Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Crazy thought, if you get to work with the love of your life making something yourselves, when you're both in control of what you're working on, you enjoy it and you make money from it... why would you stop? Good for her, I say. Even if it sucks for us people who actually consume the end product. 2 Quote

However, would continued critical turds that also post diminishing returns not impact her A-list status, and thus, negatively affect her future clout (salary, demand for roles, industry cachet)? Who knows? I wish her the best because I really think she is a talented funnylady. Edited February 7, 2018 by StevenG Quote
