Second Act is a comedy in the vein of Working Girl and Maid In Manhattan. Jennifer Lopez stars as Maya, a 40-year-old woman struggling with frustrations from unfulfilled dreams. Until, that is, she gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as book smarts, and that it is never too late for a Second Act.

Jennifer Lopez will produce and star in the romantic comedy “Second Act” for STXfilms, Chairman Adam Fogelson and President of Production Sam Brown announced Thursday.

 

“50 First Dates” director Peter Segal will helm the project, developed by STX with Lopez from an idea conceived by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Justin Zackham, who also wrote the screenplay. Lopez, Goldsmith-Thomas, Zackham and Benny Medina will produce.

 

The movie will follow a big box store employee who reinvents her life and gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as a college degree.

I was wondering when Jennifer Lopez would have her next movie released. And I'm sure Milo Ventimiglia is a dash of added star power for those who like This Is Us.

Loved the trailer.

I am a guy and I am looking forward to watching this on OW.

Jlo is still hot as hell, and she still has charisma that lights up the sky.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a breakout.

According to reports from Forbes and Billboard, JLo made $47 million dollars from June 2017 to June 2018, becoming the 11th highest paid female celebrity in the World. Out of her music career alone (sales and shows and royalties), she made $8.6 million in that period, enough for 8th female musician (just behind Taylor Swift at $9.3 million) and #1 latin artist (male or female).
