Chrestomanci
JOURNEY 2 had the best hold in the Top 10, dropping just 27% in 4th place, with $20 mil. Total is now $53 mil in 10 days of release. 1. THE VOW - $24 mil, 2. SAFE HOUSE - $23 mil, 3. GHOST RIDER 2 - $22 mil http://www.facebook.com/ercboxoffice The Journey 2 number is fresh information, but the rest are ERC's personal estimates that they posted yesterday morning based on just the studios' Friday estimates. So IMO they don't really belong in the first post of a thread which I assume is meant for the studio weekend estimates. Chrestomanci
Thanks for the info. You're welcome, but I'd suggest you change back the title of the thread (which is now misleading because the TMW, TPM and Arietty numbers are also clearly new and might discourage people from looking at the thread until you change it again since it promises so little new info) and just remove the ERC (not studio) estimates for Vow, SH and GR2 from your original post. (And you can verify for yourself that those three numbers are old by looking at the timestamp on the Facebook page.) tawasal
GHOST RIDER 2 should've been a straight to DVD sort of thing.. Next weekend, it'll have a huge drop just based on the poor reviews in itself and the 22M opening.. Hell at this point, it won't even break 100M Domestic.. We still love ya Nick Cage, warts and all.. I don't know if it even will break 70m.
The Dark Alfred
GR2 will end up around 60m. Flop. I'm glad for Arrietty, amazing number!

rcalcagn
You know, if I were one of the Weinsteins, any of these past two weekend would've been the best time to really market the hell out of The Artist. I mean especially for Valentine's Day; they could've said "the most critically acclaimed romance in years!" and really hammer that point in. Still doing better than Hurt Locker but I was hoping for it to break out just a little bit more.

It seems like most of the people who are watching it are liking it, but it's hard to listen to your friends if they tell you a silent, black and white movie is actually worth their time. They might as well wait until the weekend after the Oscars.
