Your assuming the quality control and planning would be as good as Kevin Feige's.

Look at the last two Fantastic Fours, Ghost Rider 2, Hulk, Ben Affleck's Daredevil, TASM2, Elektra, The Punisher movies...

All of them were franchise killers.

Disney  has turned characters nobody cares about into global blockbusters: Ant-Man, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange...

All critical and box office successes.

Marvel Studios puts their writers through boot camps and courses where to live and breathe the history and mythos of these characters.Ms Marvel, Infinity War, etc would be in development hell like they've always been.

I fixed it for you

And...they made an MCU you love...doesn't mean there would never be an MCU or a great supers movie outside the MCU without Iron Man and the Disney MCU shepherding.  There were great supers movies before the MCU, there are great supers movies not in the current MCU, and there will be great supers movies after the MCU eventually fades away.  The IP is always growing and getting bigger in the comics world every day...it's been and will continue to be a wealth of story ideas for past, present, and future moviemakers...

I agree. The problem with the stakes being too high, a world-sized threat, is that there's no chance of failure. If the Avengers fail to stop Ultron, humanity is done along with all the movies. Therefore there's no plausible chance the heroes will fail.

But if Cap is trying to stop Hydra from robbing Ft Knox, you don't know how it'll turn out because Hydra could totally win, which would probably serve as a stepping stone to a future plot-point. Smaller stakes are actually more interesting.

:bravo:

really sums up why modern blockbusters have more and more trouble feeling weighty and resonant. They are enjoyable but not something one spends time thinking of and it's because OTT threats can lead only to a positive outcome or otherwise the movie would defy its own purpose. I think that one of reasons for Titanic's mega success was that there was no SH to avert the disaster, so people finally got to see how disasters look.

Same goes to Avatar but lesser extent, Avatar was released in the era where many cinema wasn't even equipped with 3D, digital projector or IMAX

It wasn't just need to deal with market taste, but market capability.......

Yep. Avatar was a great risk too. Only thing that makes it little less risky than titanic is atleast it has some gimmick. 3d.

Also james cameron has added a new title, by the maker of titanic, which also helped.

A $200m budget film flopped earlier than titanic. The expectation took a hit 'cos of that. But titanic destroyed everything. It made double the next highest worldwide total.

Nothing come close to titanic in all these years. And then avatar did $1 billion more than titanic. That's crazy.

If films now do even half of avatar, they are known as phenomenon.

A highly anticipated star wars did 70% of avatar and was called among the best run of all time.

That's how crazy box office run of titanic and avatar are. On whole another level.

What the hell? Where are some updates. All we have is that Wonder Woman came in at $9.8M.... So, a little under but an excellent hold.

Poison type moves don't affect Steel type Pokemon.

Leech Seed doesn't affect Grass-types or anything with Sap Sipper.

Toxic doesn't affect Steel-types, Poison-types, or anything with Immunity, or else if Safeguard is in effect.

Pokemon with Magic Guard are affected by both moves, but are not damaged by them (and in Leech Seed's case, the Magic Guard Pokemon's opponent is not healed).

The combination of Toxic and Leech Seed does not affect, among other things, Victreebel and Ferrothorn.---

Hopefully a little under for Wonder Woman means a little up for SM:HC

The thing about the MCU is they had three flops (CA,TIH,Hulk)And being brought by Disney help their Universe keep going.

TIH was their only disappointment. Since then their success has snowballed.

Just as GL was suppose to start the Dceu The first Hulk movie was the same thing.

This is why TIH starts where it starts.

The film comes on as a sequel to Hulk(I think hat hurt the film as well).

By the way I fucking LoVe TIH and I think it's a very underrated film along with The first Avenger.

Your timeline is all jacked up.
