CAYOM YEAR 1 - PART I - Movie Submission - READ THE RULES IN POST 1!!!

Recommended Posts

This is the thread to submit films for Year 1 of CAYOM 3.0! The release calendar is below. It's pre-filled with the tentpoles from the Advance Schedule Thread, but you will still need to make posts for those movies with details about them. You can also submit your fillers here. Note that, unless the film was a tentpole that was scheduled in the Advance Schedule Thread (and thus is already listed here), you are not allowed to post movies in this thread until they are completed - with full cast and release info and however complete a plot summary you plan on giving them. Keep in mind that directors are limited to one major film or two small films a year and that actors should be limited to a realistic number of projects as well.

To submit a film, make a post in this thread including the relevant information.

Required info includes:

Title:

Director:

Genre:

Release Date:

Major Cast:

Theater Count:

MPAA Rating:

Runtime:

Production Budget:

Plot Summary: (Can be as short or detailed as you wish)

If you do not have all of this information finalized, you should not post the film in this thread until you do. Films posted without all this info will not be added to the release calendar in this first post.

You can also optionally include other relevant information like producers, composers, the name of the releasing studio (if you are using your own fictional studios), special formats for release (like IMAX or 3D), even custom taglines or posters if you wish. None of this is required to post your film and it can be added after you first post if you so choose.

Limited releases are allowed, and they can expand into additional theaters on a week-by-week basis. You will need to specify when the film expands and how many theaters it goes into each week, up until the final expansion that is the widest it will go.

I've included some typical midweek release dates around holidays and such. If you want to release a movie on a weekday in some other week, go right ahead and just specify it in the post for that movie. I'll add that day to the release calendar.

This post will be updated regularly with new additions. If available, you can click on the title of a film in the release calendar to go straight to its post.

The deadline has passed! Below in the spoiler box is the final release schedule for Year 1! Thanks to everyone who submitted!

Plot Summary:

Spoiler

In a world occupied by "kats" - anthropomorphic catlike people - the metropolis of Megakat City is under constant attack by the supervillain/terrorist Dark Kat (James Earl Jones). The military organization known as the Enforcers, led by Commander Ulysses Feral (Ving Rhames), is tasked with protecting the city. During one of Dark Kat's aerial attacks on the city, two Enforcers fighter pilots - Jake (Ryan Reynolds) and Chance (Vin Diesel) - disobey direct orders in a dogfight and carry out a risky plan of attack. They succeed in shooting down Dark Kat, but he manages to escape - and Jake and Chance are fired from the force for insubordination.

Months later, the pair now work at a junkyard and the on-site repair shop. With Dark Kat's attacks and schemes becoming more frequent - and harder for the Enforcers to stop - the duo decide to take matters into their own hands. Jake, a technical genius, constructs a hi-tech secret lair underneath the junkyard, creating advanced weapons and a cutting-edge fighter jet known as the TurboKat by salvaging materials from the contents of the dump. Together they became vigilante heroes. Chance takes on the secret identity of T-Bone and pilots the TurboKat, while Jake dubs himself Razor and operates its weapons systems - which include a variety of explosive and non-lethal missiles. Collectively, they call themselves the SWAT Kats.

The SWAT Kats get a chance to prove themselves when Dark Kat attacks Megakat city in his own new flying fortress. The Enforcers are overwhelmed, but the SWAT Kats manage to cause major damage to it, forcing Dark Kat to retreat. They quickly become adored by much of the city's population, including the absent-minded Mayor Manx (Billy Crystal) and his put-together Deputy Mayor Callie Briggs (Jessica Alba), who is really responsible for running the city. Commander Feral, however, thinks the vigilantes are a menace and must be captured and put in prison.

After the attack, Callie takes her car, which was damaged during the battle, to the repair shop where Jake and Chance work. Chance develops a crush on Callie and flirts with her relentlessly as Jake is left to repair the car mostly on his own. Chance is so distracted by Callie's beauty that, as she looks around the shop, he allows her to very nearly discover the hidden entrance to the underground lair. It takes a clumsy intervention from Jake to save their secret identities.

Soon, Dark Kat attacks again with a newly-upgraded air fortress. The SWAT Kats take to the skies and have a much harder time overcoming its defenses, even with the reluctant help of the Enforcers. They do, however, manage to save several civilians - including Callie - from being crushed by falling debris. Just as the pair devise a strategy and seem to get the upper hand, a careless move by Commander Feral takes out the TurboKat's weapons systems. Without the SWAT Kats' firepower, the Enforcers are forced to retreat. Razor manages to hack into the systems of Dark Kat's fortress long enough to open one of the landing bays, and the pair successfully board the craft. The vigilante duo fight their way through Dark Kat's demonic underlings, the Creeplings, and make it to Dark Kat's command room. Confronting the evildoer in combat, they find themselves quickly outmatched by his evil power. Just when all seems lost, Commander Feral appears, having boarded the ship himself to confront Dark Kat alone because he considers the safety of the city his personal responsibility.

His surprise attack distracts Dark Kat, and - while T-Bone joins Feral in battle to hold off the villain - Razor makes it to the control panel. While trying to disable its weapons, however, he accidentally sets it to self-destruct. The battle rages on for a bit longer, with Dark Kat desperate to kill Feral and the SWAT Kats and Feral obsessed with capturing both Dark Kat and the vigilantes, but soon it becomes clear they're all running out of time. Dark Kat flees in his escape craft and Commander Feral demands the SWAT Kats surrender to him and leave as prisoners on his aircraft. Razor surrenders to Feral in exchange for him allowing T-Bone to remain behind to pilot the fortress into the desert so that its remains don't cause devastation by falling into the city below.

Feral leaves the fortess in his craft and heads out to a safe distance, Razor in tow. T-Bone successfully gets the fortress out into the desert, but it begins to self-destruct with him still onboard. Razor watches in terror as the fortress explodes piece by piece, and Feral even admits T-Bone's bravery and the nobility of his sacrifice. Suddenly, just before the final explosion, the TurboKat comes zooming out of the landing bay with T-Bone piloting it. When Feral and Razor land, the Commander decides to let Razor go as a thank-you for he and T-Bone saving the city. He warns him, though, that he'll still be after them if they continue their vigilante activities. Jake and Chance meet back at the lair, each delighted to see they are both alive and free. Despite Feral's warning, the two decide it's their calling to continue defending Megakat City from serious threats, and commit to their new double lives.

Days later, as Callie is working a late night alone in her office, the SWAT Kats sneak in to surprise her. Razor presents her with a special communicator he's invented so that she can get in touch with them whenever they may be needed. Even in his disguise, T-Bone can't help but flirt with her. She gives him a kiss on the cheek and he tries to invite her for a ride in the TurboKat, which she politely declines. Razor has to literally drag him out of the office, and the movie ends with him slamming the door shut on T-Bone's tail.

PROLOGUE: A young boy, the free-spirited Prince Adam of the planet Eternia, runs through the woods on his own, voices calling out to him as he's run away from his group. Stumbling upon a clearing, he catches sight of a beautiful falcon soaring through the air. His gaze follows the bird's path, and he watches as it flies into Castle Grayskull – a legendary structure which has been abandoned for centuries. His minders catch up with him and scold him for running off, but he remains transfixed by the castle.

TITLE SCREEN / OPENING CREDITS

THIRTEEN YEARS LATER

In the courtyard of the royal palace of Eternia, Prince Adam (Played by an unknown but very muscular young actor named Lance Garrett), now 19, trains in combat with his friend and Captain of the Royal Guard, the fierce warrior woman known as Teela (Shailene Woodley). Teela gets the best of him in their sparring, and remarks that while he's very strong, he needs to focus more on his training to develop proper combat skills. Teela's father, royal military adviser Man-At-Arms (Russell Crowe), has been watching and concurs, warning him that scouts have reported strange activity in the barren wastelands surrounding Snake Mountain. Adam scoffs, saying the evils of Snake Mountain are nothing but an old myth, and that Eternia has been at peace for decades.

Adam goes to visit his parents, King Randor (Viggo Mortensen) and Queen Marlena (Julianne Moore), in the throne room of the palace. The two are listening to the ravings of Orko (a CG character voiced by Justin Long), the inept court wizard, who insists that he senses unfathomable levels of evil magic coming from the wastelands. The king and queen inform him their best scouts are already investigating, but Orko says they should send the army immediately before it's too late. The monarchs disregard his warning and dismiss him.

Adam strikes up a conversation with his parents, who remark that Orko means well but just isn't up to the standards of their previous court wizard, Evelyn, who disappeared some months ago. Adam says Orko is a good friend, if a bit clumsy, and they should give him the benefit of the doubt. When his parents ask him how his training is going, Adam awkwardly changes the subject and goes to ask Orko more about his warning.

Far away in the wastelands of Eternia, the missing wizard Evelyn (Carrie-Anne Moss) is conducting a series of dark spells inside the dusty, ruined corridors carved out of Snake Mountain. Her magic finally succeeds in unsealing a huge door with disfigured skeletons carved into it. Passing through the doorway, she enters what used to be a throne room. Suddenly, from the corridor behind her, she is attacked by a raging, furry creature. After a brief struggle, she zaps it with her magic scepter, rendering it unconscious. She searches the room and finds a sealed coffin, declaring that through her power, the legendary Skeletor will rise again.

Back at the palace, Orko and Adam are hanging out together in one of the many grand hallways when Orko suddenly begins to convulse as if he's having a seizure. Sparks and bolts of magic fly from his fingertips uncontrollably, comedically transforming various items in the hallway into small animals. In response to the commotion, a helmeted head on a telescoping neck peers around a corner to observe and is nearly struck by a stray bolt. As Adam desperately tries to calm Orko, the man with the extending neck – Mekaneck (Jackson Rathbone) – runs up to assist him.

Cut back to the throne room in Snake Mountain, where, in a whirl of dark energy conjured by Evelyn, a pile of dust inside the coffin gradually comes together and takes the form of a blue-skinned man with nothing but a skull where his head should be – Skeletor (Dave Bautista). As the ritual concludes, a staff tipped with the skull of a ram materializes in Skeletor's hand, and he slams it down on the floor loudly, causing Evelyn to drop into a reverant bow.

In the palace hallway, Orko suddenly returns to normal. Mekaneck yells at him for being reckless, but Adam says something must be wrong and asks Orko what happened. Orko replies that there was a distant surge of evil wizardry so powerful it disrupted his own magic, and that he was right about something terrible happening at Snake Mountain. Mekaneck, who happens to be the leader of a scouting company that just returned from the wastelands, confirms he and his group saw strange lights coming from the mountain but were recalled before they could investigate. The three rush back to the throne room to warn the king and queen.

In Snake Mountain, the revived Skeletor lords over Evelyn, asking why she has resurrected him. When she tries to flatter him by saying he is the true rightful ruler of Eternia and that the current king and queen are incompetent, he senses she isn't telling the whole truth and threatens her with death if she is not honest. She confesses that she was the royal wizard, but yearned for more power than the king and queen would ever allow her to have. She hopes she can be Skeletor's apprentice and help him conquer the planet in exchange for being taught his mastery of evil magic. Skeletor accepts this answer and the proposal, though he warns her she must obey his every command or be destroyed. When he asks her name, he mishears it as “Evil-Lyn,” which he finds odd but amusing. She attempts to correct him, but he decides to call her by that ridiculous name from now on to remind her of her inferiority. He also conjures up a set of dark robes to replace her royal attire.

Knowing he will need more evil warriors, Skeletor looks to the unconscious creature on the floor and deems it suitable for a lieutenant. With a surge of magic from his staff, he revives the beast and grants it a more human-like form, along with what he describes as a “rudimentary” level of intelligence and enhanced strength. He dubs the resulting monster Beast Man (John Tui).

In the throne room, Orko, Adam, and Mekaneck manage to convince the king and queen to send a small group of soldiers to protect and retrieve the scouts currently surveying the wastelands, but, at the recommendation of Man-At-Arms, the monarchs refuse to authorize a major military mobilization without more proof something is seriously amiss. Angry at this decision, Adam confides in Teela that he's becoming worried his parents and her father are acting irresponsibly, to which Teela replies that Adam is usually the irresponsible one, and that she trusts her father's judgment. To Teela's surprise, Adam requests extra combat training just in case serious trouble is brewing.

ONE WEEK LATER

The military unit sent to protect the scouts in the wastelands finds them all dead at their campsite around a small watering hole. As they investigate the scene, a bolt of dark energy shoots into the water, transforming a tiny aquatic creature into the humanoid monster known as Mer-Man (Kellan Lutz). The soldiers fight him bravely, but he is incredibly strong and they attempt to retreat. As they turn tail, however, they run into Beast Man, Skeletor, and Evil-Lyn, who proceed to slaughter them. High in the sky, a winged man, Stratos (James Marsden), watches silently and flies off unseen.

Skeletor and his evil warriors return to Snake Mountain, taking with them the body of the Eternian military unit's commander. Using a combination of dark magic and dangerous ancient technology that was sealed away deep inside the mountain, Skeletor resurrects the commander as Trap Jaw (Nathan Jones), a deadly cyborg who, like Beast Man and Mer-Man, is magically enslaved to Skeletor's will. Skeletor remarks to his followers that all he needs now is an army and he will be able to begin his plan to conquer the world.

DAYS LATER

Stratos arrives at the royal palace and requests an audience with the king and queen, which he is granted, being the de facto leader of the isolated bird-people of Avion. In the throne room, he addresses the king, queen, and Man-At-Arms, while Prince Adam, Orko, and Teela eavesdrop from just outside. Stratos explains that he went to investigate the strange events in the wastelands himself and witnessed Skeletor's annihilation of the Eternian troops. All present are shocked to hear this, with King Randor insisting that Skeletor was killed and his remains sealed away centuries ago after his defeat at Castle Grayskull. But Man-At-Arms is a close friend of Stratos and vouches for him, saying his vision is as impeccable as his mind and that there is no way he could be mistaken. Prince Adam and Teela are shaken by their fathers' acknowledgment that Skeletor is real. As far as they knew, he was only a legend.

Young Adam, the night after his encounter with the falcon, is being looked after by Evelyn. He tells her about the castle he saw and asks what it was. Evelyn tells him the legend of Castle Grayskull. The legend is conveyed to the audience as an animated sequence narrated by Evelyn. In the legend, Grayskull was an important Eternian fortress centuries ago when a magical stone of immense power was discovered beneath it. The stone would grant any wizard who could absorb its magic the power to single-handedly conquer the planet.

At the time, the kingdom of Eternia did not span the entire planet; in the unexplored wastelands there was another kingdom known as Infinita ruled by the diabolically evil Lord Keldor from his dark palace inside Snake Mountain. Keldor sensed the energy of the stone when it was uncovered and immediately decided to make its power his own. Knowing he would not be able to take on its energy in his mortal form, Keldor summoned all of the wizards of Infinita and stole their magic with a dark ritual. The process transformed him into a half-man, half-demon: Skeletor.

Skeletor and his armies invaded Eternia, and a devastating but brief war ensued as the forces of Infinita made their way to Castle Grayskull. When it became clear that Skeletor could not be stopped before reaching the castle, the court wizard of Eternia, Kuduk (Tilda Swinton), accepted the responsibility of trying to claim the power for herself before he could get to it. However, she had only managed to take on a small portion of the stone's energy when she was apparently vaporized. Skeletor arrived at the castle and fought his way in, but just as he approached the stone, Kuduk re-appeared as a powerful ethereal sorceress.

Kuduk and Skeletor fought a long, grueling battle of magic, and the small fraction of the stone's power Kuduk had absorbed was enough to match all the power Skeletor had stolen from his kingdom's wizards. In the end, Skeletor was reduced to dust by Kuduk's most powerful spell. Without their cruel leader, the armies of Infinita surrendered to the Eternians, and the kingdoms were united. Skeletor's remains were returned to Snake Mountain and sealed away with a magic spell.

Back in the present, Man-At-Arms rallies the armies of Eternia to defend Castle Grayskull, knowing that Skeletor will try to claim the power of the stone again. Adam is training with Teela harder than ever when, out of the corner of his eye, he sees the same falcon he saw as a child. A voice echoes in his head, beckoning him to follow. Distracted, Adam is defeated by Teela and excuses himself from training, claiming he's remembered something very important he must do. Teela lets him go but is suspicious and tails him.

Adam follows the falcon back through the woods and finds Castle Grayskull. As the falcon approaches, the ancient drawbridge leading into the castle opens for the first time in centuries. Adam enters the castle at the urging of the voice in his head, and the drawbridge closes just before Teela can follow him in. Inside, the falcon transforms into Kuduk, who explains that she has been the guardian of the castle ever since the war with Infinita, the stone's magic having granted her an ageless spirit form. Decades after the war, she convinced the rulers of Eternia to abandon the castle and convince future generations the war had never happened and neither the stone nor Skeletor existed, in order to prevent evildoers from seeking the power.

She reveals that before Skeletor died, he placed a powerful curse on her that trapped her immortal spirit inside the castle and tied her life force to his. Now she can only interact with the outside world by projecting an image of the falcon, her spirit animal. The idea  of Skeletor's spell was that when he died, Kuduk would too – however, the spell was incomplete when Skeletor perished. Instead, the two now share the same life force, and only one can exist at a time. With Skeletor resurrected, Kuduk's spirit is fading away. She has watched Adam, direct descendant of the king who ruled in the time of the war, all his life – and now has chosen him to take her place as the guardian of Grayskull and the magic stone.

Adam protests that he has no magic power of his own and isn't prepared to take on the role, and Kuduk presents him with a mystical Sword of Power she has created over the centuries, which will be able to absorb and store a small amount of the stone's power much as she did. As a non-wizard, he will not be able to use the power to cast spells, but calling forth the magic in the sword will grant him unmatched strength by transforming him into He-Man. Adam reluctantly accepts his role, and Kuduk presides over the ceremony to imbue the sword with power from the stone. As Adam transforms into He-Man for the first time, Kuduk fades away, entrusting him to save Eternia with her last words.

As He-Man leaves the castle, he is spotted by Teela, who immediately recognizes him as Adam. At first he tries to insist he's a different person, but Teela points out he's not even remotely disguised and he gives up. She asks him what has happened and he promises to explain on the way back to the palace, even though it's kind of a long story.

Back in Snake Mountain, Skeletor senses Kuduk's death and declares that with her gone, he is now back to full power. He demonstrates his power – and prepares for war – by summoning a huge army of demonic warriors. He orders his forces to march on Castle Grayskull so that he can finally claim the power of the stone for his own.

He-Man and Teela return to the palace and explain to the king, queen, and Man-At-Arms how Adam is the new guardian of Grayskull. He-Man declares he will join the army in defending the castle, but the king and queen refuse to grant him permission, too worried about losing their son. They command Man-At-Arms to take the Sword of Power from him and ensure he remains locked in his quarters. Later that day, however, as the troops begin to mobilize, Man-At-Arms finds Adam, returns his sword, and helps him sneak out of the palace to join the army. Much to Man-At-Arms' dismay, Teela demands to accompany them. Also joining the army are Stratos, Mekaneck, and even Orko, who claims his magical “expertise” will be needed.

The two armies converge on Grayskull, and an epic battle begins as the Eternians try to prevent Skeletor and his minions from entering the castle. The Eternians are shocked to see that Evelyn is now serving Skeletor. With the support of the Eternian army, Man-At-Arms takes on Skeletor, Teela fights Beast Man, Stratos duels Mer-Man, Mekaneck confronts Trap Jaw, and Orko enters a magic showdown with Evil-Lyn. Meanwhile, Adam transforms into He-Man and cuts huge swaths through the demon army. The heroes hold their own for the most part, and even Orko messes up his spells in ways which prove surprisingly effective. The exception is Man-At-Arms; he's greatly outmatched by Skeletor's evil power, and even the backup of his most trusted soldiers can't even the odds. Skeletor shoots a beam of dark energy straight through his heart, and Man-At-Arms collapses to the ground, fatally wounded.

Teela rushes to his side, and Man-At-Arms apologizes profusely, saying that if he'd only told the king and queen to send the full army to Snake Mountain, they might have stopped Skeletor before things got this far. Teela says there's no way he could have known that Skeletor had really returned and that he did the right thing by not leaving the palace defenseless. With his last words, Man-At-Arms makes Teela swear to make sure Adam becomes the guardian that Grayskull needs.

Skeletor heads for the castle only to be stopped by He-Man. The two fight and at first He-Man does impressively well; thanks to the stone's power, his physical strength is far greater than Skeletor's. But soon the villain gains the upper hand with his evil magic. Just as He-Man is on the ropes, Teela attacks Skeletor from behind, knocking the staff from his hand. Beast Man soon arrives to distract Teela, but with Skeletor's magic much weaker without the use of his staff, He-Main again gains the upper hand and forces Skeletor back from the castle entrance. Meanwhile, Orko manages to somehow absorb a spell cast at him by Evil-Lyn, and with the extra power, accidentally unleashes a wave of energy that banishes all of the demon soldiers. He-Man destroys Skeletor's staff with a blast of pure good magic from the Sword of Power, and a furious Skeletor orders a retreat, teleporting himself and his minions back to Snake Mountain but swearing the stone will one day be his.

Back at the palace, a somber funeral is held for Man-At-Arms. Teela swears to Adam she will train him harder than ever in order to carry out her father's dying wish and make sure Eternia is protected. Teela is promoted to the new military adviser to the king and queen, taking her late father's place. Stratos returns to Avion, but promises he will join He-Man again in battle if he is ever needed. Orko finally gets a little bit more respect, and is fawned over by several pretty ladies. Mekaneck leaves on a long-term covert mission to spy on Snake Mountain. And King Randor and Queen Marlena apologize to their son for not putting more trust in him.

MID-CREDITS SCENE:

In Snake Mountain, Skeletor's minons – except for Evil-Lyn – cower as he rants and raves at them for ruining his plan. Evil-Lyn tries to join him in chiding the others, but Skeletor scolds her for being just as pathetic as the rest. As he finishes forging himself a new staff, he sends out a huge blast of energy that shakes the mountain and screams at the top of his lungs that he will destroy He-Man, whatever it takes.

A wealthy businessman named Rupert (Caruso) has a strange fascination with snakes. He loves snakes so much that he names his business Cobra Enterprises and has snake-themed furniture in his home, along with real snakes as pets. But due to poor management his company goes nearly bankrupt and Rupert is forced to come up with a novel solution to earn money: fund a team of scientists who can create genetically mutated snakes as sideshow attractions. The sideshow tour proves to be a hit with locals, and one day the attraction is visited by a single father named Kent (Sutherland), his daughter Annabelle (Hyland) and her boyfriend Wade (Henrie). Kent has ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) ever since a venomous snake bit his wife leading to her tragic death, but Annabelle drags with him so she can protest the experiments done on the snakes. They stumble upon Rupert admiring one of his creations and Kent wonders how someone can have such a fascination for such despising creatures. Annabelle confronts Rupert and scolds him for the horrible things they're doing to those poor creatures. Meanwhile Wade just makes dumb penis jokes whenever he comes across a snake. The following evening when the attraction has closed and all the people have left Annabelle and Wade sneak into the facility and free all the snakes including the genetically modified ones, not knowing that they're not only still venomous, but have essentially turned into super snakes that can spit acid, grow hundreds of feet long, and a few snakes are even shown growing wings and flying. The snakes sneak into the nearby town and cause havoc, attacking people through toilets and climbing in through windows and eating everything they come across. Realizing the trouble they've caused, Annabelle and Wade go into the town and try to capture the snakes. Wade sees a kitten about to get eaten by a large python and rushes to its rescue. He manages to save the kitten in time, and even brags about it to Annabelle, but he then gets attacked by the python. The larger-than-average python ends up squeezing him so hard that his head explodes in a gory but comical fashion. As the snake chases Annabelle out of town, the kitten is seen peeing on Wade's corpse.

Morning comes as Annabelle is seen rushing back to her father's house and proceeds to lock all the doors and windows. Kent comes out and wonders what's going on and Annabelle explains what she did and laments the loss of Wade, but refuses to admit to her mistake. A flying snake suddenly crashes through their window and attacks Kent, who ultimately stabs it with a kitchen knife. They look out and see the town being overrun with killer snakes. Bent on protecting himself and his daughter (who still believes she did the "right thing" despite it leading to the deaths of dozens of people) Kent goes to the garage and combines a leaf blower and a blowtorch to create a flamethrower (don't ask how that works) to fend off attacking snakes on the way to their car. He accidentally sets his car on fire though, so he and his daughter has to cover while the car explodes. A helpful neighbor named Toby (Doug) appears with his RV and helps them escape the snakes. Toby reveals that he used to spy on the experiments being done by the scientists hired by Rupert, and reveals that the genetically modified snakes can breed super fast. Like they can lay an egg and have a full-grown offspring within a few days. The scientists realized this and neutered the males, but since both males and females have now escaped the females can find any local species and mate with them instantly. The more exotic species end up breaking into a local reptile zoo and breed from there. Kent comes to the conclusion that in order to prevent the snakes from taking over everything, they have to lure all the snakes into the reptile zoo and kill them in one go. Annabelle protests, saying that despite the snakes killing all the people she still wants to protect them, but since she brought them into this mess in the first place Kent and Toby ignore her.

Kent enlists the help of a local Indiana Jones-parody named Montana James (Arquette) but Montana's so afraid of snakes that his heart jumps when he spots an innocent corn snake. Kent sympathizes with Montana's fears, but if anyone can get them in and out of the infested reptile zoo it's him. Heading back to the RV Toby gets attacked by a cobra who spits acid promptly melting his face (reminding Monty of the time he discovered the ark of the covenant), so with Toby dead the remaining group grabs his RV and heads for the reptile zoo. They break in to find the snakes have essentially taken over the place, eating all the other reptiles in the process (one snake has even managed to devour ALL the crocodiles). Montana panics but Kent restraints him, telling him that both need to conquer their fears. They plant some bombs to blow the whole place up killing all the snakes in the process, but Monty is knocked out by Rupert, appearing to stop the trio from blowing up the snakes. He actually thanks Annabelle for releasing them, for now the snakes can take over the world and he with his snake fetish couldn't be happier. Kent tries to stop Rupert but Annabelle turns her back on Kent, saying she'd rather let her dad die than for him to kill the not-so-innocent snakes. Kent ends up fighting Rupert while the snakes circle them below. Rupert uses snake-inspired attacks like biting, squeezing and spitting on Kent, but Kent overpowers him and throws him down to the snakes, showing him how the snakes would actually treat him back. The snakes pound on Rupert squeezing, biting and spitting acid on him until he turns into bloody goo on the ground (reminding Monty of the time he found the holy grail). Annabelle picks up a gun and shoots her dad. Kent survives being shot but is unable to pull the trigger, so it's up to Monty to save the day. He and Annabelle end up tripping over so they both are seen grabbing on to the suspension of the bridge. Monty pushes her over the edge ("You betrayed PETA!") and watches Annabelle getting devoured by the snakes she swore to protect. Kent asks if it was necessary to kill his daughter but Monty doesn't care. They set off the explosives killing all the snakes in the process. On their way out of the burning reptile zoo Kent laments the loss of his daughter, even though she valued the lives of killer snakes over her own father. The moment is cut short as a giant anaconda emerges from the burning wreckage and attacks them. Having overcome his fear of snakes, Monty leaps onto the Anaconda's head and strikes it with his machete, killing it and finally bringing this nightmare to an end. Sitting and watching the reptile zoo go up in flames, Monty asks Kent if he should write a book on his experiences, maybe throw in aliens and a scene where he survives a nuke by hiding in a fridge, but Kent tells him to not go there. The movie ends with "What a Wonderful World" playing over the credits.

The Executioner

Release Date: September 15th

Theater Count: 3,213

Runtime: 104 minutes (1 hour, 44 minutes)

Rating: R

The film begins in Iraq, opening with a dramatic shot of a huge explosion propelling a U.S. soldier through the air. The soldier is revealed to be the film's protagonist, John Eastfield (Statham) who is quickly assisted by fellow soldier and best friend Darryl Jefferson (Goldwyn). Both men, along with several other U.S. soldiers are quickly captured by the militia. The film cuts to an open-air militia camp where we next see the soldiers tied to wooden stakes in the ground. The militia commander demands information on when a U.S. strike is going to occur. Eastfield refuses to answer and the commander slowly decapitates one of his fellow soldiers. Jefferson manages to get free and quickly slaughters the militia soldiers. The film then shifts to Detroit, where Eastfield and Jefferson work in a food warehouse. One day, a group of thugs called the Ghouls attack Eastfield while he is working after Eastfield catches them trying to steal beer. Jefferson comes to his aid. They defeat the thugs, but the gang return to cripple Jefferson by gouging his spine with a meathook, leaving him paralyzed. Eastfield, taking the law into his own hands, interrogates one of the members with a flame thrower to get information of the gang's hideout. Eastfield tells the thug that if they're lying, then he will be back. Eastfield then attacks the gang's base of operations, shooting one gang member and leaving two others tied up in the basement, which is full of hungry rats.

Eastfield's vigilante justice does not end there. The warehouse where he works has been cowed into paying protection money to organized crime. As the mob has squeezed money out of the paychecks of workers such as Jefferson. Eastfield manages to kidnap one of the mobsters, placing him, chained up above an industrial meat grinder. Eastfield needs the safe number from the mobster to steal his money. After the mobster is lowered dangerously close to the jaws of the meat grinder, the mobster gives up the safe number, as well as giving Eastfield his set of keys. Eastfield asks if there's anything else he should know; the mobster tells him no. Eastfield repeats his earlier line that if they are lying, then he will be back. Eastfield barely survives an attack by the mobsters (who he dispatches with an electric carving knife). Upon returning, Eastfield lowers the mobster into the grinder for lying. Eastfield gives the money to the Jeffersons. A police officer named Micheal Dalton (James) begins investigating these attacks, as Eastfield announces to the press his nom de guerre as the Executioner. He kills the ring leader of a child prostitution ring, as well as a senator whom he provides girls for him to abuse. Ironically, Eastfield himself steals a motorcycle and helmet from another man, though only to pursue a group of Ghoul muggers who had just attacked and robbed an elderly woman.

Meanwhile, the CIA has heard of the Executioner and reaches odd conclusions. Based on the current administration's promise to cut down crime rates, they believe that the Executioner is either an opposition party's stunt or a foreign power's ruse to humiliate the current administration by exposing their inability to handle the crime problem. They monitor Dalton's investigation of the Executioner. Dalton, working from a bootprint found at the mobster's home, discovers the Executioner wears a hunting boot manufactured by a mail order firm in Maine. Asking them for a list of clients in Detroit, and following the hunch that the Executioner may be a veteran (since when he killed the Ghouls he was seen with an M-16), Dalton has narrowed the suspects accordingly.

In the dénouement, Eastfield visits Jefferson in the hospital. Jefferson has asked to see him. Never being able to walk again, Jefferson wishes that Eastfield would kill him. Eastfield does, but coincidentally, Dalton is visiting the hospital at the time. When he learns about Jefferson's death, Dalton concludes (having investigated Jefferson earlier as a possible suspect for the Exterminator and having learned about the attack on him) that one of Jefferson's friends was the Executioner, and learns that Eastfield was one of them. Dalton stakes out Eastfield's apartment. Eastfield, seeing the police arriving at his home from afar, calls his apartment and arranges for a private meeting with Dalton, where he hopes to explain his reasons for his actions. However, the CIA, bugging his phone, hear his call with Dalton, and ambush them at the rendezvous. Eastfield escapes the ambush and brings Dalton with him as a hostage, but drops him off at the side of the road while Eastfield makes his way out of Michigan as the movie ends.

Mark Shallow (Franco) and James Berk (Rogen), two stoners who live in a beach house in California, are visited by their friend and drug dealer ”Plex” (McBride), who asks them to do a favor for him (as repayment for crashing his car earlier in the month). He asks them to deliver a package of marijuana to Singapore, worth over $100,000. Should they succeed they get 10% of the cut and some of his spare crack. As the two depart for Singapore, they find out that there are some very strict laws in the country regarding drugs. Even a tiny amount can get them both sentenced to death by Singapore courts. To bypass this, they have to come up with a plan: Instead of flying to Singapore, they both carry the package onto a cruise ship (disguising it as a clothing bag), which is set to sail all the way from California to Singapore. All goes well, until the captain finds out about their plan. Luckily, the captain allows them to walk away with no conflict, if they give him some of the marijuana. Soon enough, the ship reaches Singapore, as the package travels further on into the city. The package reaches its ”target”, a mob centered in the Singapore underground. Believing the mob, Mark and James give them the package they want. However, it turns out the mob is a bunch of cops in disguise. It turns out Plex lured the two into a trap as payback for trashing his vehicle. Realizing this, Mark and James make a daring escape from the cops.

The only way the two stoners can leave Singapore alive is to get to the airport without getting caught. In disguise they manage to fool the police as they make their way to the airport. However Mark`s sister, Eva (Heard) happens to be in Singapore with her fiancee and recognizes the two immediately, spoiling their plans without her knowledge. The cops arrive and they take the two to court. In court, Mark and James try to convince the judge that they`re innocent, claiming they had no knowledge of the content inside the package this "Plex" guy sent them. However, the attempt for mercy fails, but just before the judge is ready to sentence them an officer rushes in, screaming that the evidence has been stolen. It turns out Plex is going to deliver the package all along, with the help of corrupt members of the Singapore police force.

A large-scale search for the missing package begins, as the court decides to hold off on Mark and James' case for the moment. As the two stoners sit in a holding cell for the night, one of the cops approaches the two and strikes a deal with the two. If Mark and James finds this ”Plex” guy and bring the package back, he can make sure they get to leave Singapore alive. Knowing that the alternative is death, the two stoners agree to help, and they know just where to start. Later that night, Plex makes a deal with a real mob - ironically in the same building where his two ”henchmen” were caught earlier - handing over the drugs for a reasonable amout of money. However the party is interrupted as the Singapore police breaks in. At the same time, Mark and James escape the holding cell as Mark finds he doesn't trust the cop he struck a deal with, and goes with James to confront Plex themselves. A shootout occurs between the mob and the police but the law gets the upper hand. Soon the entire mob is defeated but both the package and Plex are still missing. They all hear a helicopter fly over them, as one appears to take off from the top of the building. To celebrate his success, Plex lights up a smoke. He then spots another helicopter heading towards him. Mark and James turn out to have stolen a police helicopter and are now going to get back at Plex for his betrayal. Plex takes out his gun to fire at them, but being high of his ass he is of course a terrible shot. In fact he's such a terrible shot he accidentally shoots his co-pilot dead instead. Being unable to control the vessel the helicopter crashes as Mark and James approach the wreckage. Plex emerges wounded and pleads for forgiveness, but Mark punches him in the face instead. Mark and James decide to vanish from the scene before the police arrive to arrest Plex. The two stoners manage to sneak aboard a plane heading back to the United States, and they both agree to never take another drug smuggling job ever again. When they get home they get a call though, from another drug dealer that promises them big money if they pull off the job. Being stoner idiots Mark and James agree to the job, and only realize when it's too late that the job is in North Korea.

An Apple a Night

Studio: Fine Films Inc.

Genre: Family/Adventure

Director: Thor Freudenthal

Producer: John Doe

Release Date: August 18th

Theater Count: 3,043

Budget: $15 million

Rating: PG for some frightening images

Running Time: 83 minutes (1 hour, 23 minutes)

Cast: Ty Burrell, Cody Veith, Jillian Spaeder, Hal Sparks, Max Charles

Down on Tinsburg Street lies an old, mysterious house. The last person who lived there, a rich but withdrawn fellow named Mr. Goggsworth, mysteriously vanished along with his fortune in the 1930s and the house has been abandoned and left to rot since as rumors began to spread that the house was haunted. Two middle-school kids, Dixie (Spaeder) and Kyle (Veith), who are infatuated with the spooky and the mystical, often hang around near the house and occasionally trespass onto the property grounds, only to be chased off by the adult Donald (Sparks) who thinks kids their age shouldn't be playing around in a decaying house where they can get hurt. Dixie and Kyle outwit Donald and come across Dylan (Charles), a kid who claims he's just moved in to the neighborhood but somehow knows a whole lot about the house. He says the ghost of Mr. Goggsworth haunts the place, and Dixie and Kyle are immediately interested. Donald hears Dixie and Kyle talking about bringing their friends for a ghost hunt at midnight, and he figures that instead of stopping them right there he should teach them a lesson. Donald, who has a daily job as a special effects artist at a local theater, borrows props from an upcoming Halloween play and sets up traps for the kids inside the mansion, hoping to scare them off when they enter the house the following night.

Night comes and Dixie and Kyle bring their friends into the house where they start searching for the ghost. They climb up to the attic to perform a ritual they think will bring out the ghost, but encounters Donald's traps instead. A bucket drops on them with a plethora of rubber spiders which scares them at first, but Dixie quickly calls out the fraud. More spooky events start happening and soon all of Dixie and Kyle's friends are scared out of the house. Dixie and Kyle still thinks the whole thing is someone playing a prank on them, until a painting of Mr. Goggsworth suddenly comes to life and what appears to be the ghost of Coggsworth steps out of the painting to chase them. This scares away Dixie and Kyle, and we find out that it was Donald in a costume all along. He decides to head home for the evening but sees the silhouette of a kid near the forest and thinks its Kyle trying to hide in the woods. The kid asks him "do you want to see something scary?" and vanishes behind the trees. Donald pursues him only to discover something truly terrifying.

The next day the two kids are seen walking home from school where they notice police cars in front of Donald's house. Donald's fiancee is seen telling the police that she hasn't seen him since last night, and she's gravely worried. Behind the policemen Dixie and Kyle see a box with Halloween props (even though it's only September) and puts two and two together. They tell the police that they think Donald's been trapped somewhere in the house, and the house is searched with plenty of Donald's props found but no sign of Donald himself. That night Dixie and Kyle are awake in their beds, worrying that this might be all their fault, only to see Dylan knocking on their window, telling them to come with him. Dylan leads them back to the house and the three decide to split up with Dixie searching the house and Dylan and Kyle searching the woods outside. When Dylan and Kyle reach the woods, Dylan suddenly turns around and asks Kyle "do you want to see something scary?" which confuses Kyle. Dylan vanishes into the woods and Kyle pursues him, only to fall into a hole which leads into a tunnel. Meanwhile in the house Dixie discovers a secret entrance and bumps into Kyle in the same tunnel. Dixie asks where Dylan went, and Kyle wonders the same thing.

Suddenly they encounter what they think is the ghost of Mr. Goggsworth (Burrell), a ghost with a very hideous face at that, who captures them and brings them to an underground lab, where Donald is seen tied a pole hanging over a plate of hot liquid. It's revealed that Goggsworth isn't actually dead, rather he had managed to craft an elixir using the apples growing in his residence to achieve eternal life, but at the cost of his face being made to resemble rotten fruit. The years of isolation has made him gone crazy, and he thinks that sacrificing Donald and the children will somehow create an elixir that can fix his appearance. Before he can lower the three into the plate though, he is suddenly attacked by a barrage of apples and is chased off. Dixie, Kyle and Donald all wonder who freed them, and they encounter Goggsworth again outside the house. Goggsworth has realized the error of his ways and begs the three for forgiveness, but Dixie asks instead where Dylan is. Goggsworth is lost on who Dylan is, and when described to him he says Dylan resembles a kid who used to live in the house before Goggsworth bought it. The kid used to play in the woods near the mansion, but one day vanished without a trace, and his parents moved out of the neighborhood as a result. Goggsworth says he encountered a hole in the woods near the house and tried to cover it up, but every night since it's somehow uncovered again. The four hear a faint giggle which sounds like Dylan, and they quickly realize that Dylan was the ghost all along, and that he tried to show them the hole so that they could know of his fate.

Goggsworth turns himself over to the police (who are horrified by his appearance) but is let go after Donald decides not to press charges. In response Goggsworth spends his remaining fortune to restore the house to its original state and turn it into an orphanage, and he is awarded for his efforts (while plastic surgeons work on fixing his appearance). In the final scene we see Dixie and Kyle overlooking the newly restored mansion, and an apple suddenly drops out of nowhere onto Dixie's hand, which she interprets as Dylan saying thank you for putting his soul to rest.

Stacie Donaghan (Sossamon), a young deaf poet who lost her hearing after a bout of bacterial meningitis at age 13, lives isolated in a small cottage in the woods, surviving off money from book sales. Her friend and neighbor Karen (Morrison) visits her one-day to return a copy of one of her books, and that night, is chased back to Stacie's cottage by a masked man (Mears). Karen bangs on the door for help, but Stacie doesn't notice her and the man stabs her to death on the doorstep. The man quickly realizes that Stacie is deaf and uses it to his advantage. He sneaks into the house, takes her phone, and begins taking photos of her and sending them to her laptop to make her aware of his presence. As Stacie realizes she's being stalked, she locks herself inside the house. The man cuts the power and sabotages her car. Stacie writes that Karen's boyfriend is on the way to the house on the glass-paneled front door in lipstick. The man responds by taking off his mask. The man taunts Stacie by propping Karen's body up against her bedroom window. Stacie tries to distract him with her car alarm so she can get Karen's phone from her body, but fails to get it before he returns. She manages to fight him off with a hammer and locks herself inside again.

Stacie makes several failed attempts to escape, eventually climbing through a second story window onto the roof. She tries distracting him and making a run for it, but he comes back before she can climb off the roof. He fires a crossbow bolt into her leg. She manages to knock him off the roof and steal his crossbow as he tries climbing up to finish her off. She staggers back into the house on her injured leg and frantically tries to load the crossbow as Karen's boyfriend David (Amell) arrives at the house looking for Sarah. The man confronts David, pretending that he is a police officer on a dispatch call to Stacie's residence. He pretends to call for back-up on David's phone but David doesn't fall for it and attempts to attack the man from behind with a rock. Before he can, Stacie sees him and bangs on her door to get his attention, distracting him and enabling the man to stab him in the neck. As he bleeds out, David uses his remaining strength to put the man in a chokehold to give Stacie time to escape, but she realizes she can't run on her injured leg and that she's in danger of bleeding out. Stacie begins thinking through all her options to escape or hide but realizes that none will succeed. David dies and the man recuperates as Stacie makes the decision to fight back.

While he begins to threaten Stacie's cat, she manages to load the crossbow and shoot the man, but it only hits his shoulder and makes him angry. While running back inside, her hand gets caught in her front door and the man stomps on it repeatedly, crushing it. He threatens to enter, and she taunts him back by writing "do it" on the door with her blood. Stacie types her last words with a description of the man on her laptop then runs to hide in her bathroom. He manages to climb in behind her from a skylight above, he prepares to stab her but she feels his breath on her. She turns around and stabs him in the leg then stumbles to the kitchen where she uses spray insecticide and her specialized smoke alarm to blind and deafen him, but he regains the upper hand by strangling her. On the verge of losing consciousness, she manages to grab a nearby corkscrew and fatally stab him in the throat. The man dies and, after calling 911, Stacie goes outside to sit on the porch and waits for the police to arrive. Her cat comes to sit with her. Police lights flash through the woods as she closes her eyes and smiles.

Spoiler

Wealthy wife and husband Elaine (Radha Mitchell) and Clark (Rupert Evans), whose relationship is strained, decide to leave their three kids with the grandparents for a few days around New Year's and spend the time together in their vacation home up in the mountains. Used to spending summers there, the pair are unnerved by the eerie winter atmosphere. Just as they are beginning to settle in, the power goes out, the furnace fails, the phone lines die, and a freak blizzard traps them in their remote location. Elaine begins to suffer bizarre nightmares about getting lost in the woods and freezing to death, and the pair gradually start to notice strange sounds and things moving around the house.

The phenomena become increasingly frequent and disturbing, and Elaine's dreams more vivid. Eventually, Elaine is chased out of the house by the ghastly, frostbitten apparition of a young woman. She becomes lost in the woods herself and stumbles upon the place where she always dies in her dreams. In the deep snow, she trips over something. Uncovering it reveals it to be the dead body of the young woman whose ghost she saw - clutching a toddler's frozen corpse. Clark manages to find her, and the pair return to the house. But all hell breaks loose as the woman's angry spirit begins relentlessly attacking them. The ghost traps Elaine in the basement, but Clark manages to escape, swearing he will send help and braving the blizzard to make it to the main road.

The next day, Elaine is awoken by noises in the house. The door is broken down by a police officer, who reveals he was sent to help her and that her husband made it home safely. Elaine tries to warn the officer about the haunting, but he doesn't believe her - and indeed, nothing strange happens. The blizzard is over, and the police officer returns Elaine back to town, dropping her off at her parents' house where Clark and the kids are. She knocks on the door but there's no answer. She knocks again and hears movement inside, but there's still no answer. When she peers through the window, she catches a glimpse of the frozen woman's ghost just as it disappears. There in the living room she sees the bodies of her husband, parents, and children - frozen solid. The film comes to a close on her agonized scream.

Plot Summary:

Spoiler

Kyle Crystal (Nicolas Cage) was an aging hitman who was betrayed and killed by one of his clients and naturally wound up in Hell. But while in the underworld, he discovers he has the incredibly rare power to permanently kill demons. Meanwhile, an ambitious and unruly archdemon known as Kalixar (Ray Liotta) and his sinister, seductive daughter Kimbax (Kristanna Loken) have found a way to invade the world of the living. They and their followers plan to kill hordes of humans and bind their souls into their service, creating an enslaved army with which to conquer both Hell and Earth.

The devil himself (Ron Perlman) takes notice and offers Kyle a deal - he will return Kyle to the world of the living for 24 hours, and if, in that time, he manages to kill Kalixar and Kimbax, Kyle will be able to remain resurrected and get a second chance at life. If he fails, his own soul will be permanently destroyed. Kyle accepts the offer and returns to the world of the living.

While working his way through some of Kalixar's demonic underlings, Kyle rescues one of their would-be victims: a young homeless prostitute named Sarah (Nicola Peltz). With nowhere else to go, Sarah joins Kyle on his quest. At first Kyle resents her presence, fearing she will get in the way, but it just so happens that Sarah is one of the only other humans who can kill demons. As the two get closer to Kalixar and Kimbax, Kyle begins to develop fatherly feelings for Sarah and promises her that if he succeeds in his mission he will start a new life with her so they can both get on the right track.

Eventually, the two discover Kalixar in his makeshift lair inside an abandoned mall. They think they've got the drop on him, but it turns out to be a trap. Sarah is captured by Kimbax, and Kalixar proves too powerful for Kyle to defeat on his own. Just when all seems lost, however, Kimbax attacks her father, leaving him weak enough that Kyle proceeds to kill him. Kimbax says her plan all along was to overthrow her father and take over Hell and Earth for herself. She reveals to Kyle that those who can kill demons also have the ability to kill angels, and attempts to seduce him into joining her. Together, she says, they can also conquer Heaven and be the masters of all existence. But to prove his loyalty to her, he must kill Sarah.

For a moment it seems as though Kyle is going to agree to this plan, but instead he uses the sacrificial blade Kimbax gives him to cut Sarah free of her bonds. The two succeed in killing Kimbax together, and Kyle succeeds in his mission just before his 24 hours run out. However, the devil reveals that he lied to Kyle and used him; he does not actually have the power to return him to life permanently, and Kyle must return to Hell. Devastated, Sarah tries to kill herself, but with his last moments on Earth Kyle saves her and convinces her to carry on in his memory. As the devil points out, some of Kalixar's followers remain on Earth. Sarah makes it her mission to hunt them all down and also, if at all possible, find a way to resurrect Kyle permanently. The end.

The Rider

Studio: Fine Films Inc.

Genre: Action/Sci-Fi/Post-Apocalypse

Director: Pete Travis

Producer: Doe John

Budget: $45 million

Running Time: 102 minutes (1 hour, 42 minutes)

Release Date: September 1st

Theater Count: 3,240

Rating: R

Cast: Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby (voice), Donald Sutherland, Naomie Harris, Denroy Lindo

The Rider (Urban) arrives to the "Devil's Grove", a desolate wasteland, on his advanced motorcycle with its artificial intelligence computer Eve (Thirlby). He is intercepted by scavengers on the road and has to fight them off using his lance-gun, a combination between a lance and rifle. The chase includes a scene where The Rider and a scavenger drive toward each other in a way that resembles medieval jousting and the Rider strikes the scavenger with his lance while shooting him dead at the same time. The chase ends with the Rider being struck off the road and drives off a cliff. He survives the fall with a broken back and is found and brought back to health by the Enlightened Elders. They have chosen him to lead their fight against the evil Omega, an Orwellian state run by the evil Prossor (Sutherland). The Elders are allied with the resistance movement, the Outsiders. The Rider first helps the Outsiders leader Nastasha (Harris) and her comrades by rescuing McWayne (Lindo), Nastasha's father and leader of the Outsiders. While the Rider and McWayne successfully escape, Nastasha is captured and subjected to brainwashing by Prossor.

The Rider gains acceptance from various residents of the Devil's Grove (truckers, punks, soldiers, Omega defectors) by winning in a ritual brawl which determines who is the strongest. The Rider and the Outsiders, with the help of the other residents whom he has now earned their trust, launch their final attack on Prossor's regime, but are intercepted by the Omegas driving a giant armored truck. As the rebels destroy the Omega patrols with their cars, helicopters and tanks, the Rider manages to destroy the giant armored truck by striking the front seat driver with his lance (which in turn causes the truck to veer off a cliff), but not before his speedcycle is crushed under the truck's wheels. The Rider and McWayne storm Prossor's headquarters where they face the dictator and a brainwashed Nastasha. She wounds the Rider, but when ordered to kill her father, she rebels, turning on Prossor and shooting him instead. The Omega has been overthrown, and the Outsiders and the rest of Devil's Grove celebrate, as the Rider prepares to move on with his repaired speedcycle.

In a twist, it is revealed that the man Nastasha shot was actually a cyborg clone and the real Prossor is still alive. He is last seen hiding in a bunker, sending out a signal to a military force residing outside of Devil's Grove known as the Exterminators.

We see a woman jumping from a building to another. “I am almost there” she says, while continues her incredibly parkour moves from rooftop to another. She stops at the top of one, feeling the wind. After this, she jumps to the next rooftop.

MIRROR’S EDGE

We see Faith arriving with a package and delivering it to fellow Runner Celeste. They talk for a brief moment and Celeste leaves. Faith returns to her home. We learn a bit about Faith in this scene, where she monologues that she's fighting an oppressive government that wants to keep its citizens subdued at all times. She also reveals that her parents, who took part in protesting the government, were killed during a peaceful protest gone horribly wrong. After the delve into Faith's past ends she receives a call from her sister Kate asking for help, and for Faith to meet with her at Pope’s office. Faith goes there only to find Kate besides Pope’s dead body. Kate insists she was framed for Pope's murder and asks for Faith’s help to find out what really happened. Faith checks Pope’s body and finds a piece of paper with the name Icarus in one of his pockets. Faith tells Kate to run away with her, but Kate refuses because it would make her look guilty, and says she trusts Faith to resolve this problem. The police arrive just after Faith jumps from the window to a crane that was nearby. Faith makes her way to a safe spot and looks back at her sister being caught by the police (Lt. Miller is seen in this scene arresting Kate).

Faith goes to her home where she finds her friend Kreeg. There they both try to find associates to Pope, and they see that former Runner Jacknife had a business relationship with him in the past. They track Jacknife to a warehouse nearby, and Faith decides to go after him. Jacknife seems to be expecting Faith, for when she gets there, Jacknife pulls out a gun at her. Faith says she just wants to ask some questions. Jacknife says he knows why Faith is there, and that he doesn’t want to answer. Celeste jumps from above and catches Jacknife by surprise, leading him to drop the gun. Faith grabs it and asks who killed Pope. Jacknife refuses to talk at first, but after some persuasion he reveals that Travis “Ropeburn” Burfield, former wrestler and Pope’s head of security, may be connected to Pope’s murder.

Lt. Miller shows up behind them in a helicopter. He tells Faith and Celeste to put their hands in the air. When they do this Jacknife flees by leaping through a window and parkour his way across the rooftops. Faith is put in handcuffs and is brought onto Miller's helicopter, but she quickly frees herself and makes a leap of faith (pun not intended) to a rooftop nearby. She catches on to the ledge but ends up slipping, falling a few stories before grabbing on to a flagpole and enters an apartment where a couple is seen watching a movie. As Faith exits through her front door, the guy in the couple tries to check Faith out, only to be told off by his girlfriend.

Faith makes her way to Ropeburn's office, sneaking her way into the office where Ropeburn is seen setting up a meeting that would be held at a location downtown. Faith accidentally knocks over a plant, alerting Ropeburn of her precense and he attacks her. He calls on his guards to shoot her dead, but Faith quickly disarms them, only to be tackled by Ropeburn himself and held in a chokehold. Faith frees herself by kicking Ropeburn in the face and she escapes to the roof. Ropeburn follows her and they have a confrontation at the rooftop, which ends with Faith evading one of Ropeburn's tackles causing him to slip off the ledge. As Ropeburn is left hanging and pleading for his life, Faith interrogates him in exchange for pulling him up. Ropeburn denies involvement of Pope's murder, but may have some information leading to the real killer. He mentions the so-called "Project Icarus", but before he can reveal anything he is shot in the back by a sniper shot from several blocks away. As Ropeburn lets go of the ledge and falls to his death, Faith tries to pursue the sniper, but the sniper disappears before she arrives at the location the shot was fired from.

Faith makes her way back to the safe house, lacking any leads other than the words "Project Icarus". She decides to investigate the security firm that had begun aiding the police force in the crackdown of the Runners, and finds Project Icarus is linked to them. She soon discovers that Project Icarus is a program designed to train their forces in parkour so that they could track down and eliminate the Runners using the same methods as them. The investigation leads to a port where members of the security force are having a secret meeting, and Faith makes her way there. As she spies on the meeting's attendants, she discovers the sniper from before, who takes off her mask to reveal herself to be Celeste. Shocked at the revelation, Faith makes her presence known (knowing full well how dangerous it is) and confronts Celeste. Celeste orders the others not to fire at Faith, and she proceeds to reveal to Faith that she is colluding with Project Icarus in order to keep herself safe, and that there is no use in fighting back. She makes an offer for Faith to join her, but Faith refuses, leaving Celeste no choice but to kill her. Faith escapes by leaping up on a container which is currently being hauled onto a boat, using it as a shield from the incoming gunfire. The shootout alerts the crew of the ship, and the members of the security force disperse before the police are called. Faith makes her way off the ship and goes back to her hideout to meet with Kreeg.

Kreeg informs Faith that Kate has been convicted for Pope's murder, which distresses Faith. She and Kreeg draw up a plan to save Kate, by ambushing the police convoy that would take her to prison the next day. The next day we see a police convoy driving down a highway, and Faith appears standing on an overhead traffic sign where she makes a jump onto the back car of the convoy. The cars start veering in different directions in an attempt to shake off Faith, and she is forced to jump off. However, the convoy needs to take an exit that leads to a road going under the very same highway, and Faith uses the opportunity to leap onto the front car, where she kicks the driver in the head causing the vehicle to crash while she leaps onto the truck carrying Kate. She throws out the driver and rams the other police cars off the road. Kate reacts quickly by hanging on while the guards that sat beside her are being thrown around until they are all knocked out. Faith frees Kate and gives her directions to the hideout while Faith distracts the incoming police force.

After Faith escapes the police force she makes her way back to the hideout only to find the place destroyed. Kreeg lies bleeding on the floor, having been severely beaten to near death. In his last breath he tells Faith that Kate had been taken to the Shard, a building a database containing the servers to the city's surveillance systems. After Kreeg dies, Faith plots her attack on the Shard, but finds it's too heavily guarded. She discovers that Lt. Miller knows his way around the building, and she confronts him in an alleyway where Miller reveals that he himself wishes to fight the oppressive system, but didn't think he could do it until Faith came along. He gives her a keycard that lets her access many of the rooms in the building without setting off any alarms, but she has to fight any guards she comes across herself. In return he asks Faith to not reveal his involvement to anyone, as that may put him and his family in danger. Faith agrees and the two separate while Faith makes her way to the Shard.

Faith enters the Shard and manages to make her way to the same floor as the server room without being spotted, only to be confronted by Celeste and her men once she reaches said floor. It's revealed that Celeste had been listening in on Faith's conversation with Miller, and Miller is brought before Faith with a rifle pointed at his head. Miller pleads for Celeste to not hurt his family, which she agrees to, but she says that won't stop her from throwing him off the building and making it look like an accident. She orders Faith to surrender to prevent further bloodshed, which Faith complies at first, but steals a smoke grenade from a guard and throws it at the remaining guards, causing mass confusion which gives Faith time to free Miller and push him into an elevator that would take him to the bottom floor. Faith escapes the guards and locates the server room, where she throws in a grenade she stole from the guards to blow the whole place up. While the explosion distracts Celeste and her men, Faith tries to locate Kate, but can't find her anywhere. Thinking she must have been taken elsewhere, she makes her way to the roof only to find Kate held at gunpoint by Jacknife.

Jacknife reveals that he too is a part of Project Icarus, and that he and Celeste had been working with each other to bait Faith and the other Runners to come out of hiding. He also takes full responsibility for Pope's murder, and revealed the false lead about Ropeburn to Faith so she could do the job of getting rid of Ropeburn for him, as he and Celeste felt Ropeburn was becoming too much of a liability. He fires at Faith who is forced into hiding while he brings Kate onto a helicopter. Faith sees the helicopter take off and thinks at first that she can't make the jump over to the helicopter but she decides to make a leap of faith (put not intended... again) and miraculously reaches the helicopter where she struggles with Jacknife for a bit before kicking him off the helicopter. Faith looks on as Jacknife falls to his death, crashing onto Celeste's vehicle which was parked next to the Shard. Celeste witnesses the event and decides to bail, swearing revenge on Faith.

Faith holds the helicopter pilot at gunpoint (using the gun she grabbed from Jacknife before she kicked him off) and forces him to take her and Kate out of the city. They land in a wheat field where they knock the pilot unconscious and leave the scene before police forces arrive. In the film's ending, a news report states that Faith's actions have only served to intensify Project Icarus, and Faith and Kate are still wanted fugitives. In the last bit of dialogue from the film, the news reporter warns the listeners to not use any means of electronic communication before the surveillance infrastructure is repaired and the "national security" is restored.

Bad Cop

Studio: Fine Films Inc.

Genre: Thriller

Director: Gary Fleder

Producer: Doe John

Release Date: October 27th

Budget: $20m

Theater Count: 2,821

Rating: R for violence, profanity, sexual references and drug use

Running Time: 94 minutes (1 hour, 34 minutes)

Cast: Mark Harmon, David Otunga, Micheal Eklund, Nadine Velazquez, Jacinda Barrett

In Spokane, Washington, a waitress on her way home is assaulted by two muggers and seeks aid from a police officer, who breaks her neck. Over the next two nights, this "Bad Cop" commits more murders, prompting Lieutenant Craig (Harmon), who was told by his superiors to suppress eyewitness accounts that the killer was wearing a police uniform, to pass on information to a journalist, in an attempt to protect civilians. Meanwhile, Ellie Forez, who suspects that her husband John (Otunga) may be the "Bad Cop", follows him to a motel, where she catches him in bed with a fellow officer, Therésa Vasquez (Velazquez). Distraught, Ellie runs out of the room, and is slain by the murderer. John is arrested under suspicion of murder, but Craig believes John has been framed. Craig gets John to tell him about his relationship with Vasquez, who is attacked by the Bad Cop while working undercover as a prostitute. Vasquez and Craig fight off the killer, who escapes after getting shot at by Craig. Vasquez hides out in Craig's apartment while he investigates Sally Boland (Barrett), the only person Vasquez told about her affair. Craig follows Sally to a warehouse, where she meets with the "Bad Cop" and refers to him as "Matt". Returning to police headquarters, Craig discovers files on Matthew McConnell (Eklund), a fellow officer who was imprisoned at Washington State Penitentiary. Craig learns that McConnell was part of a wider corruption scheme at city hall but was caught and fully blamed for those charges, and now Craig suspects McConnell is killing people as a form of revenge against his former colleagues.

When Craig and Vasquez visit John, they tell him that they think McConnell is the real killer and plan to visit the chief medical examiner at Washington State. Craig leaves to go to the clerical room, and he is attacked by Sally, who is in hysterics, convinced that McConnell is going to turn on her. After finding a policeman hanging in a noose, Sally is grabbed by McConnell and beaten to death. Hearing the commotion, Vasquez exits the interrogation room and find the corpses of numerous officers strewn about the halls of the building. Craig tells Vasquez to go to his car while he searches for McConnell. Once she heads outside, John reappears. He tells her that the cops think he was responsible for the carnage inside, so he and Vasquez decide to flee the scene. Craig's search for McConnell proves unsuccessful, and he realizes that he has escaped and gone after John and Vasquez.

John and Vasquez head out to the countryside and find a police station in a small town not far from the penitentiary. John waits outside as Vasquez heads in and warns the currently stationed officers about McConnell, but after getting reports about what occurred at the penitentiary they spot John and have him and her arrested. McConnell appears and stabs the officers to death, then targets Vasquez, knifing the policeman left to guard her. Vasquez escapes through a window, while John is arrested and placed in a van, which McConnell hijacks. Vasquez and another officer chase the van, which McConnell takes to his warehouse hideout, running over the watchman on the way in. Craig locates the warehouse just as Vasquez and the other officer also arrives and McConnell proceeds to fire at them while keeping John captive. The officer gets killed in the resulting gunfire, and McConnell tries to escape in the van when backup arrives. John clings to the side of the van and fights for control of it, distracting McConnell and causing him to drive into a suspended pipe, which impales him. With McConnell apparently dead the vehicle is without a driver and drives off a bridge, but John is saved in the nick of time by Craig. Emergency services arrive and the film ends as Craig gets a call informing him that the crashed van has been found, but McConnell's body is missing...

His father (Robert DeNiro) occupies a secret and mysterious position in the government. He gave her a mysterious object, a kind of crucifix that seems old. After serving as a singer in a bar, she is assaulted by two mobsters, she is taken to a room where she sees her father being tortured and then killed. It was these two mafiosa she was trying to flee when she was overthrown by Brian. She is panicked at the thought that they are looking for her. "Help Me," she said, falling asleep again under the influence of drugs. Brian seems panicked, then looks at the plate where it says the name "Gina Timmins," he looks at the empty bed next to that of Gina. Quickly, he runs into the room, puts the plate in the name of Gina on the other bed and invents a name for Gina. He uses sheets, and a mannequin to make believe in a presence in the other bed by adding pockets of blood .. While he hears that the door is forced, he leaves by the window, hangs on the railing . And wait. He heard two shots. Remount, Gina is still sleeping, the other bed is pristine bleeding pockets of blood. He waits for Gina to wake up, tells him that he believes in his story and obviously under her charm suggests he run with her.

They both exit through the window descending the ladder. And in the car, she tells him that she thinks that her father wanted her to discover what this crucifix means. He says he may know someone in Chicago. Clip-show from the road to Chicago, Gina is sleeping on the seat, having fun rummaging the car which disrupts Brian, she teases him. Arriving in front of the Museum of Natural History of Chicago, Gina and Brian hurry to enter. They meet with Professor Susan Collivaw (Melissa McCarthy). This refers to the fact that she often helped Brian without return. An unending dispute begins. Susan says she likes Brian's shoes. Gina slips away with the crucifix and a key on the desk. She sees a lab and opens it. There are many gear around her. She understands that these devices can be used to identify what the crucifix is. She touches a few keys, then a noise sounds. She is scared. But it's only Brian (now only wearing a pair of underpants, and Susan are coming in. "Well I'll help you.") The crucifix was designed by Susan's Hopi Indians. (Derek Mears and Danny Kitz), the mafiosi kill the Professor with a bullet, then strike Brian. Black screen.

Point of view, Brian blinks, he is tied to a chair in a shack, an unhealthy room. Large plan. Brian manages to get rid of the bonds, and walks in silence. He goes around the room, sees light under the ground. "There must be a trapdoor." He looks through the hole in a door and sees the two mafioso asking Gina. "I have to get out of there." Brian moves different furniture, then locates the freezer. He tries to move it but understands that it is very heavy. It melts the ice by cleaning the glass and then empties the water. Lighter, it manages to move the freezer, locates a trap door and leaves by this one. He goes around the hut. "I can not get in without being spotted by the mobs. ". As he walks around the desert in which the hut is located, he finds a motor home and while he is trying to penetrate. Three drag queens call upon him. Carl (Jamie Clayton), Mariola (Jayne County), Lula (Laverne Cox). They tell her that they are lost here, that their van has broken down, and that their driver has disappeared. He tells them he must find a way to distract two people from the countryside and run away. Lula explains that they spotted a nearby helicopter, but they lack gasoline. Split screen sequence. They are beginning to develop a plan. Brian gets closer to an oil derrick, gasoline whistle. The girls manage to free space in front of the helicopter. Brian then finds a submachine gun, and manages to force an abandoned wagon to get ammunition and fill it with powder. The girls take care of recovering dynamite in a small shed. Eventually the group meet up. Brian exposes the plan: Carl will explode the derrick. Lula will help Brian save Gina from the now distracted Mafia hands. Then they will fly aboard the helicopter driven by Mariola former Air Force pilot. The plan is implemented. Cut/cut editing. The plan takes place with a few snags, hand-to-hand combat with the mafios. Then Brian finally got into the helicopter in extremis the mafiosis at his heels.

On board the helicopter Gina explains how afraid she was, and that the mafios wanted her crucifix and that now it was lost. Brian takes the crucifix out of his pocket, explaining that he took it at the time of the flight. Direction the Hopi lands.

Brian and Ginna jump in parachute while Lula, Carl and Mariola fly to the east coast. A long sequence shot follows. It ends dramatically, Ginna's parachute was eaten away by moths, and Brian manages to rescue her. But during the landing she injures her leg. They arrive at an abandoned village inhabited by two people. Sushi (Emmy Rossum) and Saturn (Andrew Scott), they help Gina. Gina is resting while Brian goes around the neighborhood in search of Hopis lands. Sushi does not seem to know anything. Rich heiress she set up her base in this abandoned village with her artist friend Saturn. Brian leaves in the neighborhood and finds a funny character looking for aliens (Alfie Allen). This one helps Brian to find the Hopis lands. It is a great desert with ruins of a village. Sushi disembarked, explaining that he found the crucifix is actually a key used to close the Hopis tombs. By pressing on the crucifix it is true that a mechanism snaps. Giving a key shape to the crucifix.

Finally he found what appears to be a Hopi door. He hesitates, then Sushi tells him to go alone because of Gina's injury to be dealt with. Brian enters a tomb. Brian must avoid many traps, flames, poisoned arrows. He must climb walls, jump with the help of lianas. Finally to arrive in a treasure room. It avoids marks on the ground. To finally arrive in front of a pedestal. With only a treasure, a jar containing a finger. " All that for this ? ".   Finally out, he goes to Ginna and explains. She tells him that Sushi told him about a woman "Mama Dorita" (Liz Torres) able to contact the spirits. They go to see her and convince her to contact the spirit of Ginna's father that he explains to him for the finger. Mama Dorita takes over Brian's body. The spirit of "Joe the Indian" speaks through him. A frightful and ridiculous scene follows, Joe the Indian wants to reveal the usefulness of the finger only if Ginna helps him. Ginna makes him believe he is locked up and she can help him if she explains what this finger is "a key." The scene ends. And Brian wakes up and asks him what has just broken down. Ginna confesses not to have been completely honest. This crucifix was not given to him by his father but by a client of the bar where she is a stripper. Joe the Indian. This one had a big jackpot, and Ginna soon realized that the crucifix was a way to get this treasure. But before finding out what it was, Ginna said they must get rid of the mafia. Brian is furious, but says he will help Ginna then go to the University.

Saturn informs them that cars have been seen arriving in the area. Very quickly Brian decides to face them. Brian is dressed like a cowboy. With two fingers of the shot, Ginna places two pistols on the neck of the mafios, who are locked in a cage. Thanks to a message trafficked by Sushi, they make believe the boss of the two mafioses that it is they who stole the treasure. Sushi discovers that a fingerprint-only bank is located in the region. And Gina goes there, thanks to the finger hidden under hers, she manages to steal the money. $ 3million in cash is in the trunk. Fade in black.
Gina rolls in a red convertible, Brian on the passenger seat. She deposits it next to his university. Asked him if he was sure he was not with him. "One year of vacation, you deserved it, right? ". He gently declines the proposal and then walks to the university.
Credits.

Then in the middle of the credits, the scene resumes, Brian turns to Gina. "This university has been there for two centuries ... it will still be there in a year not? ". End.

Movie Title: Rabbids, the Big Adventure
Director: Pierre Coffin
Composer: Heitor Pereira and Ed Sheeran
Genre:
CGI Animation Hybrid Comedy
Date: March 31
Cast: Jacob Tremblay (Turner), David Gasman (Rayman), John Leguizamo (Globox)
Theater Count: 4 155 in 3D
MPAA Rating: G

Runtime: 84 minutes
Budget: $61.5 million

Aspect Ratio: 1.77 : 1

Summary: I had to bust this one up a little bit because I've been busier than expected.

Spoiler

The film begins with shots from the space of a planet that seems heavenly and colorful, the text appears "The Glade of Dreams", the camera plunges into a city of the planet. Two characters fight hundreds of black (Lum) creatures. These two characters are Rayman and Globox, a real chase in the city is taking place. Many explosions. A parallel editing begins between this very dynamic chase race, and scenes of Rabbids in their meadows doing all kinds of bullshit. Finally the chase ends in the meadow, the Rabbids find themselves in the middle of this fight. The scene degenerates and the Lums create a kind of portal, but they end up getting beaten by Rayman and Globox thanks to a stream of water. Globox and Rayman after the fight told the Rabbids not to approach the portal.

Obviously, all the rabbids start to shout "Bwaaaah" as they run towards the portal, and if most of them are neutralized by Rayman and Globox, a certain number cross the portal. TITLE: Rabbids, the BIG adventure.
(The film from that moment onwards is a film that mixes 3D animation and real shots.)

The Rabbids appear in the middle of a Los Angeles park, where the portal appeared. Soon most Rabbids start to make a mess, some passers-by run away. One of the rabbids is calmer and discover the nature of the park with wonder, picking flowers when he comes face to face with a little boy. Quickly a relationship is set up, the little boy, Turner, calls the Rabid "Rab", when he sees that the others begin to be sought by security agents, Turner decides to hide Rab in his bag and takes him home.

Turner must hide Rab from his mother, funny scenes are set up. It's a sequence that compiles more gags rather than moving the story forward. There is a parallel between Rab's discovery of the human world and the TV channels that show the mess Rabbids suddenly represent. Rab is fascinated by the washing machine. Many gags on communication, methods to hide him.

Rab falls in love with a teddy bear bearing the image of Mario. Turner seeks to feed Rab', they have to sneak together to a supermarket to find what can pair him. Eventually after almost being unmasked they find cat food that suits Rab. It seems that the Rabbids' problem is solved and that the Earth is now attacked by Lums and the police are unable to thwart them. Turner learns that they will have to be evacuated and looks for a way to hide Rab.

Turner is sad to leave his apartment, and Rab seems sad to see him in this state... He tries to make him understand that they should not leave. Finally, Rab, as he was about to leave, jumped out of the suitcase, revealed himself to the stupefaction of passers-by and rushed towards the park. That's where the lums proliferate, Turner goes after him. Once at Rab Park stands alone in front of dozens of Lumes. Rab screams "Bwaaah" and decides to attack, little by little other Rabbids join him out of their hiding place, they try to repeat Rayman's actions at first. Turner attends the fight and Rab makes him understand that they need water. Finally, thanks to the water they sprinkle, they manage to get the Lumes to come in close to the military base that was installed around the portal. The Rabbids decide to jump into the portal, Rab takes a last look at Turner and plunges into the portal too. Once back home, Rayman and Globox can take control of the situation without understanding how the Lumes came back. Finally, with the help of the Rabbids, they neutralize the Lumes, and manage to ensure that the gate will close again next night. The Rabbids are for the first time in their history applauded by the other inhabitants of the Glade of Dreams.  Around a portal that is starting to die out, the Rabbids are beginning to make more absurd mischiefs. END
Mid generic: just before it closes, the portal makes appear a washing machine. Turner opens it up and happily discovers Mario's plush inside.

Spoiler

A young man (Tom Holland) wakes up on a tropical beach. It is dawn, the beach is beautiful, he is wounded at the front and his clothes are dirty and torn. He rises with difficulty, and finds where he is. Zoom out, view of a singular island on the right of the frame is a town. In the sky appears the title "The Curse of Monkey Island". Zoom in on the young adult on the beach. He gets up and walks towards the enlightened city. The streets of the city are animated by daughters of joys, pirates drinking bottles. The young man arrives in this Caribbean town. It seems to look for a particular building. Finally, he enters a bar "The Scumm Bar".

The bar is filled with drunken pirates, the young man sneaks between tables to finally reach the table at the bottom of the bar. Three impressive pirates stand at this table (Brendan Fraser, Sharlto Copley and Kenneth Graham). "I want to be a pirate," the young man stammered. The three pirates burst out laughing, they laugh at it from a distance and quickly it is the whole bar that laugh at him. "But who are you to think you are worthy of being a pirate?" ". "My name is Guybrush Threepwood, and I'm ..." "It does not matter who you are. You can not be a pirate because you want it. " One of the pirates whispers in the ear of the speaker. "Or maybe you can. Maybe you can be a pirate after all. ".

He explained that now the pirates had set up two tests to achieve to become a pirate. The first is to find and steal the treasure of Melee Island. The second is to defeat the master of the sword of the Island, after which he must come and seek the title of the third and final trial. A parallel cut on a Caribbean version of Arcade Fire's Everything Now is played out.

We see in parallel the search of the treasure by means of a map in the jungle of the Island. We also see the numerous attempts to beat the pirate who is the master of the sword. During this parallel cut Guybrush shows he is awkward and unlucky. Eventually Guybrush returns to the city, he meets Sam (Taylor Kitsh), a boat seller who tells him that he thinks he knows why there is no a la carte. This is a special map that needs seawater to reveal some paths. Indeed new paths appear, and following them and after some perils of the relief. He climbs up a chest containing a sword and a scroll filled with pirate insults.

Thanks to this sword, it beats by destabilizing with insults the master with the sword that he manages to beat. He then hands him a medallion. Guybrush proudly stands before the pirates' table and surprises them to whisper things. They are impressed by the courage and success of Guybrush and inform him that his last mission is to recover the "Jewel of the Monkey" a jewel hanging from a monkey statue located in the South of the Island.

Guybrush finally sees the statue among the ferns of this dense forest. He climbed up to her, but at the moment of stealing the jewel to the statue, a heavy noise was heard. The city is gunned down. Quickly he sees the flames in the distance. He grabs the jewel, the status begins to scold, and sinks quickly into the ground, he must quickly try to climb the slippery walls. He arrives inexpertly out of the hole that was formed where the statue was. He decides to go back to town. It is absolute chaos in the streets, Guybrush avoids the arrows inflamed, and other cannon shots. The buildings collapse around him.

Guybrush finds refuge in a house. The decoration is tribal, many plants, animals hang from the ceiling. In the middle is a basin. He puts his hand in the water and immediately a woman Vodoo (Oprah Winfrey) comes out of the darkness. "What are you doing here, young man? What are you doing here, Guybrush?"

She explains her powers of divination and knows things. She knows what Guybrush has in her bag and can explain what it means. Guybrush learns that the pirates were mocking him, he was not supposed to pass the tests and would have even had to die. Recovering "The Eye of the Monkey", Guybrush has probably delayed the fate of the Caribbean. The eye was the last way for the terrible pirate LeChuck to get full powers over his seas. LeChuck has attacked the Melee Island to just get that eye, and Guybrush must quickly flee to avoid falling into the hands of LeChuck. "Find a ship, young man, a small crew, and leave the island by the north.".

Within a few minutes, and under the projections of cannonballs, Guybrush composes a crew of four men and convinces Sam to come with him aboard a small ship. The crew left together, at once frightened and reassured to leave this battlefield. Very soon Sam realizes that Guybrush has no idea what he is supposed to do and where he is supposed to go. A dispute breaks out between the two. In the background the shadow of a ship approaches. Then soon overlooks the whole boat. This is a giant ship. Very soon the crew of this ship takes the boat. And the crew and Guybrush are forced to board the enormous ship. While searching Guybrush's bag, one of the members of the crew found the "eye of the Monkey".

In response to this discovery, the crew takes Guybrush and takes him to the captain's quarters while the others are sent to the dungeon. Sitting on a seat Guybrush waits, then he hears coming behind him heavy sounds of footsteps. An imposing pirate, visibly fifty and visibly scarred, then appears at his side, and calmly asks him "Where did you get that? ". Guybrush then tells, while LeChuck sits facing him. LeChuck thanked him, offered him tobacco, then began to laugh. He told him that he had too often been caricatured as a bloodthirsty pirate. And in fact the use of the eye of the Monkey was for the best.

He wished all the pirates killed unjustly by the English navy to be resurrected. LeChuck says he is a pirate who fights for the cause of pirates, for the survival of theirs who is threatened. He is very convincing. Guybrush actually seems to believe in his words. LeChuck flatters him telling him that he is very impressed by his success in the quest of the eye. And offers him a market. "I release you and release your crew. In exchange you have to go get something for me at Monkey Island. A treasure that combined with this eye will allow us to survive the pirates. ". To go to Monkey Island, LeChuck proposes to him his ship rather than its rafiot, as a temporary exchange.

Guybrush is on LeChuck's ship at the helm. Sam at his side explains to him that he has doubts about the veracity of the words of LeChuck. However, under threat the ship headed for Monkey Island which loomed far away. The waters are troubled, the sailors have fears. But finally it is another ship that attacks the ship of Guybrush. Very quickly a naval battle is set up. The Guybrush ship has to fight two ships of the British anti-pirates armada. The battle is bitter. But finally the ship of Guybrush is defeated and British soldiers land on the ship.

Finally their captain disembarked, it is a young woman elegant, named Eleine Marley. (His arrival is very stylized graphically with slow motion and rock music). She is surprised not to face LeChuck in his ship. She tells him that the English navy is looking for LeChuck. She is annoyed at being deceived. She laughs at the naivety of Guybrush who believed in LeChuck's good faith. Guybrush simply says "I'm not as naive as you think mademoiselle."

LeChuck arrives aboard the small Guybrush ship on a lugubrious, mystical island: Voodoo Island. He walks holding the Guybrush bag in his hand. The houses are suspended from the trees. He climbs to the top of the island and encounters a wizard Voodoo (Kevin Spacey), who asks him if he is certain to want to do this, that there is no return to the resurrection Of dead pirates. A Vodoo rhythm sets in, the sorcerer mixes various ingredients, incantations are heard. Then he asks him the eye of the monkey. The Chuck opens the bag. And take out a coconut. It explodes with rage, and the Sorcerer too. Suddenly LeChuck chokes. The Sorcerer Vodoo gives him a day to catch the eye, without which he, his crew, and his island will be damned.

Elaine takes Guybrush to his ship to lock him up with his crew. But suddenly he puts to execution an improbable flight plan. He eventually shot two cannonballs, sinking one of the two ships of the British armada, Guybrush landed on his boat. Then quickly puts a plan of attack. Suddenly the other ship of the English armada is attacked by a sea monster. The boat sank quickly and most of the crew with it. Elein and two other sailors board the Guybrush ship as well as Sam and finally they have to form a team in order to fight against the sea animal. The sailors die, then quickly they have to form a team to drive the ship to Monkey Island. Eleine tries to resonate Guybrush.

Once on Monkey Island, Elein tells him that they must get rid of the Monkey eye that Guybrush had all this time. There is a sister statue to that of Melee Island, you gotta seal the eye of the Monkey. They venture into the island and as they approach the statue, LeChuck appears. A battle begins. First a duel with three of swords, then a chase in the jungle, from liana to vine. The pursuit race is long, refers to elements of the game, and is very dynamic. She ends up on the beach where the crew of LeChuck wait for Sam to hold hostage. Guybrush is forced to return the eye of the Monkey. At the last moment, under Eleine's supplicating glance, he finally threw the jewel into the ocean.

Immediately the sea monster expels himself from the water and devours him. Guybrush expects a certain death. Suddenly Sam takes advantage of the distraction and then strikes the others. A battle begins again, and while LeChuck seems to have an undeniable advantage, he suddenly freezes. Then crawls on the ground. His crew did not understand and stopped fighting. Then they run away.

Sam, Guybrush and Elein, see the threat, the sea monster seems to be heading towards the beach. The sea monster then devours LeChuck, then dies in turn.
Eleine and Guybrush are on the deck of a ship, she explains to him that it holds to its rank. He assures her that he was, however, more intelligent than she thought and helped him. "You're a pirate now Guybrush, and my job is to stop the pirates." Meanwhile she kisses him, then pushes him towards a boat. "I give you two days." Guybrush on his boat scans the horizon, the sun sets. He puts back his three-cornered hat. End.

In the middle of the credits, we see the legs of a man beside a corpse of decaying sea monster. You see him from the back he rips the monster, then still emerges without seeing his face, we see that he holds a red jewel "The eye of Monkey".

PART I

A man of about thirty years old (Ryan Gosling) walks on Times square, it rains a few drops. On the posters have seen advertisements for the first McCain / Obama debate. The man continues his way then is stopped by fans "Marcus Goldman? Marcus Goldman is you? ". A group of young women take a picture with him and congratulate him for his book that they devoured. Marcus Goldman is 29 years old and the rising star of English literature. Coming from New Hampshire, from a middle-class family Goldman has in one book managed to fascinate the whole of America. Now in his big apartment in Upper East City. Marcus is facing one of his old typewriters. Facing a page that a plane movement reveals as white. He seems to be getting a little headache. He gets a phone call from his publisher. Roy Barnaski (J. K. Simmons) congratulates him, compliments him. Tell him he's great, but he's starting to be a real pain in the ass. has already been two years, Marcus Goldman's Momentum is under threat, and he must hurry to deliver a new script to his editor. Goldman claims that his is progressing well and will be ready by spring as planned. Goldman is facing a typewriter and a completely white sheet of paper wrapped around it.

As he walks through his large apartment, he finds a calpin with the advice of writing that he had written with his former mentor. [FLASHBACK][Marcus Goldman, 20 years old, shaved and disguised (Gosling shaved and disguised) in a university park he is with his professor Harry Quebert (Colin Firth), they talk poetry, then Harry Quebert mentions the last pages that Goldman gave him. "It's excellent, really. You have Goldman style, a little too pompous sometimes but good... Be more incisive Marcus... concise...".]

Goldman's driving, he's headed for New Hampshire, judging by the GPS, listening to music. Then finally reached the town of "Aurora", NH. Harry Quebert (Colin Firth) welcomes him with open arms in his pretty villa on the beach. He's spending time with Marcus. Marcus begins to write things, inspired by the clippings on the walls that speak of Quebert's bestseller:"The Origins of Evil". He's in a rush from his agent who wants him in NYC. Harry and Marcus say goodbye to each other.

The rain falls on Marcus Goldman's office windows. Marcus is back to the TV, facing his typewriter. CNN talks about Obama/McCain but suddenly a flash intervenes: The famous author Harry Quebert was arrested and is accused of double homicide. Marcus doesn't see any of this. He's getting a call. It's Harry Quebert "Marcus... hey... Marcus. They found Nola... Nola. In the garden of Goose Cove's villa. I'm in custody here. You'd have to come. I need to talk to you." Marcus is driving his car to Aurora again. He listens to the radio, Harry Quebert is a suspect not only of the murder of Nola, a young girl who disappeared in 1975 when she was fifteen years old. He is also suspected of the murder of Deborah Cooper, an old woman found dead on the evening of Nola's disappearance.

In the parlor with Harry, he confesses to Marcus. I was 34 years old Marcus, she was 15, it was unacceptable, but I was madly in love with her. She was the local preacher's daughter, and I was this artist we were looking at strangely. August 30th, 1975 Marcus. Nola and I... We had planned to run away..."He seeks his words" You remember this manuscript of the Origins of Evil that I showed you... He moves his lips without a sound coming out "Burn it".  Marcus is shocked, but promises that he will do everything he can to wash Harry Quebert's honour. He offered to move to Goose Cove if he wished. Marcus starts again a little shocked by this interview, the television gets more beautiful on Harry Quebert when it understands that "Les Origines du Mal" seems to have a second message on the love story Quebert/Nola. The first images of the burned book are broadcast on TV.

Marcus moves into his friend's villa, the land is no longer accessible and under seal from the police. Marcus scours the area and burns the original manuscript of the Origins of Evil. But it is quickly confined to only two rooms, a bedroom and the living room.
Marcus discovers the small town of Aurora, a typical American village. He visited the dinner where he met Jenny, a waitress who said she had known Nola and Harry well and found it hard to believe what the media were saying. He meets with Chief of Police Travis Dawn (Gary Sinise, Jenny's husband (60- Melissa Leo). He was simply an agent at the time, and their only clue was a black convertible that a witness said he saw. Marcus also met with Sergeant Perry Gahalowood (David Harbour) who advised him not to get too involved in the case if he did not want to tarnish his reputation. Marcus receives threats and Harry's car is set on fire while Marcus investigates in the city.

Marcus interviews local residents, records all his interviews with a Magnetophone, and visits Harry on an ad hoc basis. He unveils more and more elements about his idyllic relationship with Nola (which are shown in the flashback show featuring Elle Fanning and a rejuvenated Colin Firth). Nola worked at Clark's dinner in the summer of' 75. He would scribble a few lines, and watch Nola. Fearing his feelings for Nola, Harry agrees to flirt with Jenny (young Ashley Greene). Meetings with Harry are followed by the impact in Marcus's investigation. For example, we see Marcus go to Jenny and ask her what she thought of Marcus and she reveals to him that she was in love with Harry for a long time.     [Harry and Jenny are together on a second date, at an outdoor movie theater. Nola Kellergan is there with a friend (Nancy Hatthaway (15 - Ciara Bravo)) and sees them too. Harry tells Marcus that when she saw them[Nola followed Harry when he left Clark's Diner, she approached him to go out with Jenny, she thought their discussions meant something to him. She's angry and jealous. We both know you can write Harry, so if you really want to prove that you like me, write me something, something longer than a letter if possible! That same evening, spurred on by Nola's interest in him, Harry Quebert begins to write a novel.]

Marcus interrogates police chief Pratt (Hector Elizondo), at the time in charge, who points out to him the lack of clues which he had found, this one tells him that the chief of Clark's Diner was talking about Nola at the time. Marcus asks Jenny's mother, who says that she had discovered at Clark's some pages written by Harry that made her understand that he had views of them. She had them hidden, but the pages were gone. Jenny's father, Robert Quinn, reveals to Marcus that he had burned these sheets at Nola's request.
Stimulated by this investigation and by the first links he set up, Marcus began to write the story of his investigation, quickly his editor sniffed out the vein and suggested that he extend his contract if his novel was about the "Harry Quebert affair".
David Kellergan (John Cleese) finally gave in to Marcus' requests and agreed to meet him. He's locked up in the garage, the music sounds very loud. He is a man who has been locked up for a few years and has stopped contact with the world. He explains that his family had only arrived in Aurora from Alabama three years before the tragedy occurred. Then a priest, he had to immerse himself in his faith to survive the death of his daughter and his wife. He also tells Marcus that with his daughter's body was found the original manuscript of the Origins of Evil with the inscription "Goodbye, Dear Nola".

Nancy Hatthaway (48 - Winona Ryder) meets Marcus after learning that he is investigating what happened in Aurora 33 years ago. She reveals that [Nola complains to Nancy that her mother strikes her, she doesn't seem to understand, she shows what appears to be burn marks on her arms]. Nola was a multifaceted girl who also had a relationship with the local billionaire Elijah Stern, a wealthy man who put [available his driver Luther Caleb (Damon Wayans Jr.). for her]. Harry reveals to Marcus that the beating Nola received was the reason he agreed to run away with her. They were supposed to meet the night of her disappearance at the Sea Line Motel room 201... Harry says he waited but that she never arrived.
Elijah Stern (Alan Alda) agrees to meet Marcus, he tells him that he is the owner of Goose Cove and that he was hosting Quebert for free at the time. He denies that he had a relationship with Nola but confirms that she was spending time at home. He makes him discover a painting of Nola naked, the painting is magnificent.

In the face of these discoveries, Marcus contacted Sergeant Gahalowood, who agreed to help him, having discovered at the same time that Luther Caleb had died three weeks after Nola's disappearance in a car accident. Together they want to ask the former police chief how he could have missed that. Chef Pratt (Hector Elizondo) reveals that if we learned that Nola was doing the "whore" with the old people, her secret could have been discovered. Gahalowood and Marcus discovers disgusted that Chef Pratt abused Nola at the time. Stern's manor house is under house search. When questioned, Gahalowood discovers that Stern is homosexual, and that if Nola posed naked it was with Caleb, Stern was fascinated by the art of his driver.
The analysis of the writing on the manuscript of the Origin of Evil does not agree with that of Harry Quebert, who is released on bail. Just out, Goose Cove was set on fire and Harry hunted Marcus when he found out that he had begun to write a book about the case.  He sees it as a betrayal of the love of his life. [Nola and Harry are together on the private beach of the villa, they laugh and have fun, Nola lovingly looks at Harry who writes what seems to be a novel "You're so wonderful Harry, it's beautiful, so poetic. These seagulls are beautiful, you will become a great writer."]

Marcus moved to Gahalowood's family (his wife is an absolute fan of Marcus' first book). Gahalowood uses the office of the house to gather all their clues, they create cards for each key Aurora character and very quickly it seems that Caleb is the foggiest character of this affair. Gahalowood and Marcus visit Caleb's sister. The latter reveals to them that his brother was a very disturbed person since the violent assault on him at the age of 18. She shows them the photos, Luther's face seems distorted from the aftermath of the attack. Secretly in love with Nola, he disappeared a few days before her disappearance. Sergeant finds out that Caleb died aboard a black Chevrolet. They want to visit Pratt again, but he was found hanged at home. A month after Marcus's investigation began, Nola Kellergan's funeral takes place. On the same day, Caleb's handwriting was found to be consistent with that of the manuscript, and the police announced the next day (31 July 2008) that Luther Caleb was the murderer of Nola Kellergan and Deborah Cooper.

PART II

Marcus is in New York, it's Autumn, and the news channels are only talking about two subjects: the presidential elections, and the release of the book that tells the tragic fate of Nola Kellerga, a teenage girl beaten by her mother and finally killed out of love by a deranged man when she fell in love with a man she shouldn't be in love with:"The Harry Que Affair". Marcus is even solicited by picking up his newspaper from the shop at the foot of his building.
On leaving a party in honor of the release of his book, Marcus is called by his publisher,"What the hell is Goldman? Go to CNN's website and hurry. The site reports on the front page a photo of a tomb, of Louise Kellergan, Nola's mother who would have died in 1971. Four years before she disappeared. So it was impossible that she was beaten by her mother in 75.

On the road, the press is raging on Marcus. Back in Aurora the whole town seems to hate Marcus and accuses him of the nonsense he wrote. Gahalawood confesses to him that not living in Aurora at the time he did not know anything about that too. He's pressing Marcus to go to Father Kellergan's house. Marcus refuses to open them because of the horrors Marcus wrote about his wife and denies that he was the one who beat up his daughter. Marcus is looking for Harry who seems to know more than he told him. By intuition he goes to the Sea Line Motel and indeed Harry Quebert actually left there in room 201 a manuscript with a note "This book is the one of the truth Marcus". "The Seagulls of Aurora" by Harry Quebert. Gahalawood presses Marcus who can't begin the book Marcus wants to see Nancy Hatthaway again and asks her why she lied to him. She told him that, on the contrary, she had been very surprised like everyone else in Aurora by the book. Listening to his recordings again, he realizes that Nancy said she was surprised that Nola said she was beaten by her mother, but Nancy had not accused her mother directly  "What the hell did we miss Marcus? ". Marcus says it's time to do what they should have done earlier: travel to Jacksonville, Alabama to find out the secret of Kellergan.
On the road, Marcus reads Harry's book "It's a more positive version than The Origins of Evil, as if their story had turned out well... It's really amazing. ""
In Jacksonville, Gahalawood makes his contacts in the police to obtain information about the Kellergans, he discovers that they had been the victim of a fire. David Kellergan and his daughter then lived with the pastor.

They then go to see the pastor (now very old) but he remembers very clearly. "Kellergan arrived with his wife in the early' 50s. One summer evening in 1971 I think he came to my house panicked saying that his house had burned down and his wife was dead. [David Kellergan is in front of his burning house, braving the flames and trying to reach the floor, but the flames prevent him from doing so. He's taking out his daughter, Nola carries a can of gasoline and dances.] Goldman and Galahowood are surprised "She killed her own mother? "" She... or the demon. The priest then tells that the thought possessed her they had then attempted an exorcism by hitting her so that the demon would leave his body. It didn't work, she was just getting more and more demonic, she was starting to speak several voices, to be her and her mother at the same time, to mutilate herself with her mother's personality. ". Galahawood and Marcus decide that it is necessary to go to see David Kellergan for confirmation. Helped by Travis who had contacts with the father, he finally agreed to talk to them. He cried when he was told about his daughter's schizophrenia and said he preferred to be believed that he was the one who beat her rather than the truth. He tells them that the seizures had disappeared at Aurora. But by the summer of' 75 they had reprieve. "Because of his emotional encounter with Harry probably." He reveals letters that he later found, including one of the letters he had found after Nola's disappearance, one of which was a broken-down letter from the evening of Nola's disappearance. [Nola has a horrible crisis that night, her father can't calm her down, she hits herself against the furniture, the walls, her father can't keep her locked in an empty room.]. "That son of a bitch, he knew about Nola, how could he." He tells them that in the summer of' 75, Nola said she was learning to write with Harry that this David was a good friend. One day, faced with Harry's accusation of abuse, David had to tell him the truth.

As the days went by, Marcus stayed at the Sea Line Motel and tried to make sense of these new elements. Police finally found a gas canister with Robert Quinn's fingerprint on it. The press reports that the arsonist of Harry Quebert's villa is almost unmasked and tracks down Robert Quinn who is found trying to hide a weapon and jewelry in a lake in the name of Nola. In detention, it multiplies the inconsistencies, it becomes obvious that he covers someone who turns out to be Jenny. While Galahowood is trying to reach police chief Travis, Jenny's husband, he is nowhere to be found. Finally, he took refuge in Goose Cove, crying. It is stopped by Galahowood in front of a Goldman who remains planted amidst the ruins of Goose Cove.
The headline press: A police officer finally confesses to the murder of Nola Kellergan, 33 years after the fact.

The snow falls outside.

Harry Quebert goes into Marcus Goldman's apartment. "It's time to talk, I think, Marcus." Harry Quebert asked if he knew what had driven Travis and Jenny to do that. He showed her the confession, Jenny had actually learned that her husband had only killed Nola in the early summer of 2008, she had been an accomplice since then. Travis had lived with intense guilt for 33 years... Harry Quebert asked Marcus to stop the DVD because he couldn't stand this confession. Quebert reports that he had originally tried to understand. He had met Stern, who told him about Caleb. Stern had been one of Caleb's attackers, decades later, and full of remors he had hired Caleb as a chauffeur and was fascinated by him, and his artistic abilities. He told him that Caleb exchanged letters with Nola which he did not sign, Harry understood then that Nola had believed that these letters were from him, Caleb wanted to put an end to this under Stern's advice and sent a letter of rupture. Nola believed that Harry was breaking up with her and was taken from her dementia crisis. Caleb had a relationship with Nola when he was spying on Nola and Harry. Marcus then cuts Harry off, and says he thinks he's figured it out. Caleb wrote The Origins of Evil dedicated to Nola. He then handed the original manuscript to Harry for an opinion of a writer and he understood that it was an absolute masterpiece. Quebert confirmed in tears, and told that a few weeks after Caleb's death he decided that such a masterpiece could not remain published and appropriated it. Harry had built his career on a lie, and Caleb had unintentionally been the spark of a disastrous evening... Harry then withdrew on these words, telling Marcus that he would not be able to bear his gaze in the future. He leaves him, making Marcus promises to write a book on the truth about the Harry Quebert affair in the future.

Once Quebert left, Marcus sits on his sofa and breathes of relief. Finally it resumes playback of the DVD.

[David Kellergan is against a door, crying. The noises stop, he opens it, his young daughter Nola, 15 years old cuddly hug him. But suddenly she's taken a spasm. Another voice comes out of her body "Lache la" Nola struggles between these two personalities. David can't stand this show any more and locks himself in his garage for the music. Luther is parked in front of Nola's house and watches out for a manuscript in the passenger seat. This one comes out and is surprised to see him. She's asking him to drive her away, to the Sea Side Motel. Travis Dawn patrols by car, and surprised to see Luther with Nola he follows them. Caleb at the wheel admits to the letters and apologizes, he explains to her that he wrote a book for her, Nola is surprised but delighted. That means Harry loves me! And Harry's waiting for me. Caleb smiles at Nola's happy face. He tells her she's lucky. Travis takes them on the chase and Nola encourages Caleb to go fast. Once in the forest Caleb stops and they leave the car, he encourages Nola to run and pass by the beach.
Deborah Cooper is at her window "Hello? Hello? My name is Deborah Cooper... I live in Aurora near the edge of the forest on Side Creek Lane, and I'm sure I just saw a young girl being assaulted by a man. He's chasing her, they're heading for the beach.
Once on the beach they seem quiet, Nola thanks Caleb, kisses him on the cheek, and promises that she will love his book as much as he would have liked her to love it. She drives to the motel and hears a scream. "Luther! "suddenly her face changes" Mom? Nola speaks to herself, but she is calmer than in crisis "My darling, you can't leave your father alone. Finally she comes to her senses and finds Luther's body on the ground with Chief Pratt and Travis Dawn above him. Travis Dawn punches Luther's body in the face with a scream, you asshole, do you like it when you go after little girls?". Nola arrives "You killed Luther". She runs away, Travis puts Travis on the floor, but she lifts up and goes back to Deborah Cooper's house. She's bleeding "call 911." Finally the scene goes wrong and Travis kills Nola with a clubbing, and Deborah is killed with a rifle. They take Caleb's car, hide Nola and Luther's bodies in the trunk, and deflect the roadblocks with his police badge. They're passing by the Sea Line Motel. Harry Quebert is in room 201, he looks at the time, a few tears flow,"She should be there..." He has the manuscript of the Aurora Gull on his knees.]

The Truth About the HARRY QUEBERT Affair

Credits

A little word about the direction, the film is very academic but relatively contemplative. The side of New Hampshire is really put in advance and a big work on the color is done to make Aurora unique, compared to a dull New York for example.
