Molly Gordon (Booksmart) casted as Lila Rossi, the secondary antagonist of Miraculous 2: World Tour, described as a natural born lier and manipulater, and worse than Dove Cameron’s Chloe as Rebecca Sugar (Can You Imagine?, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Notes From The Otherspace) will write and direct the project as the sequel aims to fix the problems of the original by being more faithful to the original source.

The sequel is described as “One year after the original, superheroes Marinette aka Ladybug (Lana Condor) and Adrien aka Chat Noir (Jace Norman) have become famous celebrities across the world and more confident heroes all while struggling with their high school lives as Marinette struggles to tell Adrien how she feels as she plans to face her fears during a school class world trip all whilst being at odds with a new suitor Lila (Molly Gordon). However a lowkey mission of the heart becomes much more dangerous, as a retiring Master Fu (Jackie Chan) instructs Ladybug and Chat Noir to find the rest of the Miraculous charms which grant people superhuman abilities and their potential successors, Hawk Moth (J.K. Simmons) who happens to secretly be Adrian’s father and his assistant Natalie hatch a new plot to obtain Miraculous from across the world in order to achieve Hawk Moth’s desire: to revive his wife”

Miraculous 2 aims for a Holiday Y6 release date.

The final cast for Paradise Island has been confirmed. Co-written and directed by Debra Granik (Leave No Trace, Winter's Bone, and Brave), the film chronicles a near-future tale of a New England island forced to leave the only home it has ever known due to the rising ocean levels. Combining commentary on capitalism, environmentalism, gender, nostalgia, and meanings of home, it is a sobering yet quietly hopeful tale. The full cast includes:

Tessa Thompson (Voltron, Creed) as Katrina “Treen” Walsh-Halpton

Chadwick Boseman (Artifacts, Black Panther) as Noah Walsh-Halpton

Cicely Tyson (Fried Green tomatoes, Sounder) as Noreen Walsh

Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls, Cloverfield) as Emily Johansson

Holly Hunter (The Scavenger Wars, Raising Arizona) as Tabitha Coffey

Tatanka Means (The Son, Tiger Eyes) as Silas Whitehawk

Macon Blair (Blue Ruin, Green Room) as Harper Witner

Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man, Call Me By Your Name) as Greg Coffey

Daryl Hannah (Splash, Kill Bill) as Claire Nichols

Henry Goulding (Crazy Rich Asians, Lucid) as Dennis Che

Ella Simone Tabu (Dependent's Day, Lost in Space) as Young Treen

Paradise Island will open in New York and Los Angeles on November 4th, expanding everywhere over Thanksgiving.

Cookie Pictures has confirmed that the in-development animated feature Mako and the Island of Cats has been pushed back indefinitely and likely be retooled. The reason for this is because ideas and concepts brought up during development has birthed an entirely separate project that will now take priority. Details will be announced tomorrow.

New Journey Pictures has reevaluated their agenda and has made the tough decision to limit future studio output. They're not making less films by any means; they are simply choosing to refrain from starting any new franchises, with Banjo-Kazooie potentially being an exception. Franchises that have already started, such as The Ancient Magus' Bride series, are safe.

Unfortunately, this means that The Needles of Haystack County, having previously been greenlit, has now been, well, red-lit. The studio and director Jon Favreau have come to an agreement that now is simply "not the right time to pursue a multi-film project."

Furthermore, while the distributor will provide bigger budgets to films that need it, they have no plans to deviate from its successful mid-budget strategy of making and releasing films.

Nevertheless, New Journey Pictures will remain a beacon for genre filmmakers to make exciting originals and enthralling adaptations without the burden of having to commit to a sequel.

Should You Imagine may also have a budget rivaling Gateways around $180M-$200M, as Endless Animation is developing a new animation software dubbed Stretch combining rubber horn animation with computer animation to give the CG animation a more bouncy feel, almost to the point where you can’t tell the difference.
