Why so few releases and so many cancelled projects from TriCrescent Media, normally one of the most prolific studios, this year? Word around town is that they're tied up in a load of red tape as they're being sued from prison by former MV Pictures CEO John Johnson! They hope to have all legal matters wrapped up next year.

That is a very eclectic group competing for a single role.

All of them bring something to the role that i like. If you have seen the show (some of you have, some of you have not) it is important to understand that  this is a very important role. This will be the most difficult casting choice i have to make

JANUARY - THE AMITYVILLE NIGHTMARE PART III
The third and final chapter in the hit supernatural horror trilogy inspired by the legend of America's most infamous house will arrive in theatres next January. Anne Heche, who received an Oscar nomination for her role in the first film, will return to a more prominent role as former nun Alice May Chambers after her cameo appearance in Part II. Also set to return are Golden Globe nominee Armand Assante as Father Chiraldi and Tony Goldwyn as Chief Carr. Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact) is in talks to direct.

The plot will pick up soon after the conclusion of Part II, as Chiraldi and Carr struggle against established forces in the police force and clergy - as well as the forces of evil - to finally find a way to seal the passage to hell that exists beneath the legendary house in Amityville, New York. Meanwhile, Alice begins to regain her horrible memories of the first film's events and is drawn by some other force - divine or demonic - back into the affairs of the house, both past and present. She will make startling discoveries about the property's history and the origin of the evil entity that killed her family.

FEBRUARY - HEROES WITHIN
Destiny is for dreamers - champions make a choice. This exciting new original fantasy/superhero tale presents a human society living among the ruins of a magical kingdom once occupied by a proud race of animal-folk. The souls of the former inhabitants are cursed to reincarnate over and over inside the bodies of the new human population, forced to watch helplessly as the same evil that destroyed their civilization continues to rule unchallenged from the shadows. A great champion foretold in ancient scrolls rises to meet the challenge - and fails. As the decades pass by and the oppressed civilians lose all hope, all connection to the spirits inside them, there can only be one chance for redemption - the unbroken will of a new generation unable to accept things as they are, undaunted by the failures of the old ways. But such heroes can never arise until they make the toughest decisions of their lives.

Aiming to balance spectacle with emotional resonance and political commentary, Heroes Within is an ambitious attempt at a new franchise-starter. Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) is on the shortlist to direct, though no cast or crew has been finalized. TriCrescent will be seeking 3D and IMAX releases for the feature when it debuts in February of Y6, accompanied by a strong P&A push and marketing tie-ins.

MARCH - SWAT KATS 3: KATASTROPHE

The high-flying, crime-fighting felines soar back onto the screen in this CG-animated superhero adventure! Tired of being foiled by the SWAT Kats, villainous forces new and old unite to strike at the vigilantes on multiple fronts - testing their prowess in battle as well as their morals and self-confidence. Joining the fray will be Lieutenant Felina Feral of the Enforcers - the daughter of Commander Feral, a staunch critic of the "reckless" SWAT Kats. But will she join her father's crusade against them, or seek their aid as Megakat City descends into chaos?

Directed once more by Kevin Munroe (2007's TMNT and the first two SWAT Kats features), the threequel will feature the returning voice talents of Ryan Reynolds, Vin Diesel, Jessica Alba, Ving Rhames, Crispin Glover, and Billy Crystal - plus more to be announced! As usual, the ferocious furballs will fly out of the screen to save the day in 3D.

APRIL - EARTHSONG VOLUME II: THE MANDRAGORA
Picking up right from the cliffhanger ending of Volume I, the second chapter of the Earthsong trilogy based on the online graphic novel returns to the surface of the living planet Earthsong. Having alienated the mysterious newcomer Willow and lost her to the followers of the sinister invading planet Beluosus, Earthsong and the members of Haven's Guard must piece together a plan to rescue her - if they can even agree it is the right thing to do. Meanwhile, the captive Willow meets the Mandragora, discovering they may not all be following their dark lord for the reasons she assumed. As Willow realizes Beluosus' terrifying plans for her, forces on both sides continue their attempts to discover the secrets of Willow's origins - and how she can tip the balance of power in the war between the worlds.

MAY - FRIDAY THE 13TH
Decades ago, a troubled young boy named Jason Voorhees drowned during his summer stay at Camp Crystal Lake. The counselors weren't paying any attention, you see. His body was never found, and his mother, the camp cook Pamela, was never the same again. Pamela Voorhees took her own life, but hers was not the last death connected to the camp. Arson, sabotage, and murder have haunted the grounds ever since, leading the locals to call it "Camp Blood" - a local legend, a cursed place. But this year, Camp Crystal Lake is on track to reopen for the first time since the dawn of the new millennium. The buildings are restored, the grounds have been prepared, and a group of eager young counselors has arrived to make the final preparations for the summer. But they are not alone. And as someone picks them off one by one, the question is raised - did Jason ever really drown at all?

This loose remake of the 1980 slasher classic ignores the controversial 2009 reboot and takes the series back to its woodsy New England roots, with a dash of mystery sprinkled in among the blood and severed limbs. The cast is not yet finalized, but New England native and horror megafan Adam Green (creator of the Hatchet series and co-writer for Friday the 13th: The Game) has signed on to direct. The movie will be shot on 35mm film to evoke the old-school atmosphere of the original. And, of course, it's set to slash and hack its way into theatres nationwide on Friday, May 13th, Y6.
